- A bootleg audio performance of Led Zeppelin in 1970 performing at Blueberry Hill playing the song "Blueberry Hill" All the pictures in this slide show are from 1970, the year of this concert.
GOT MY FIRST 1,000TH VIEW ON AUGUST 25TH, 2008, FIRST EVER ON MY VIDEOS, THANKS TO EVERYONE WHO WATCHES - Hudba
Steven Tyler said that when he first saw them in '69 they played the first album and the crowd wouldn't let them leave the stage, so they played a bunch of Elvis and other 50's songs.
That was Boston tea party , they played 4 plus hrs they played Beatles songs they did their album twice . Thor’s we’re the days
yes that was at the Boston Tea Party Hall
plants voice back then was so fucking phenomenal it's unbelievable
rest in peace Fats Domino the writer of this great live cover you'll be up there with the greats even Bonzo
Saw him a few years ago. It really still is
Its really amazing the vocal range Robert used to had in the early days, he goes from an Elvis kinda voice to a Janis' in a second!
Insane🤯
He actually met Elvis. Elvis had nothing to do with him until Plant sang “Love me”.
In his prime there is none better
@@jacoblandrum2681 it doesn't matter Elvis was still a big influence
Just in case anybody cares, this was from the 09/04/70 show at the LA Forum. It's on an old LP bootleg of the same name and the entire album was just awesome. Led Zeppelin were the biggest fans of early, true Rock & Roll music. Almost always, they played a bunch of those old songs-and then still managed to fit in all the Zeppelin songs everybody wanted to hear. I saw them live at MSG in 1977 and it was a life-changing event for me. Led Zeppelin rules...
Robert Plant is so amazing that I thought the record had been slowed down the first two minutes of this track, nope that's just how giant the dude's range is.
unbelievable wasnt it
Jonesy's not of this world. His sense and feel of musicality is truly unparalleled.
Robert's voice is just demonic on this song. Freaking amazing.
Pitchiest I've ever heard him, which is saying something.
I agree
Uh oh..not so good ?
A parody they thought to play...
Dumb dee dum dum
Saw Led Zeppelin March & Sept 1970 at the LA Forum. . The best concerts ever. When Robert belted out Whole Lotta Love the crowd went wild.
That's so cool, I'm so jealous. I want to hear all about it. You saw them at the best part of their career.
@@curtissmith8908 Thank you! Stood at the front of the stage to the right of Robert. One of the security guards asked me if i was related to Mr Plant . He said you have the same hair. Plant held those notes forever. I think the crowd knew they were witnessing something beyond words . I confuse the concerts but Robert took Jimmys violin bow and started picking up all the undies that were thrown on the stage. Someone threw a firecracker at them & Robert said I know were hot but whoever threw the firecracker you need to be locked up.
The March 27th show is one of my fav recordings. Can only imagine that night.
Jimmy Page. Wholly fuck! Hands down the absolute greatest guitarist to ever run his hands up and down a fretboard!
I love Jimmy Page, so much. He was the one that turned me into all music from 60s and 70s, got shirts and posters, records. But... Jerry Garcia is truly in my opinion the greatest to ever touch a guitar. Next to Les Paul.
It's an encore, they did it just for fun, it would've been a great gig!! Good times!
Robert's voice in this gives me the chills, he's an absolute legend!! all of them are.
I didn't hear Plant singing so low until this video. Thanks!
I like all the complaints about how off this or how bad that is. it is a live show they played their hearts out 2or 3 hrs a night so down with the haters lets rock n roll.
It's also one of the encores and played for the fun of it.
Plant once said that they would include whatever they had been recently listening to for such purposes. JPJ also stated that Jimmy Page was some kind of encyclopaedia when it came to the rock and roll medleys. Not knowing what was to come next, he would keep things simple with the root notes whilst Page would play all the changes.
I saw Led Zeppelin at Earls Court (twice) in '75, and they were on stage for three and three quarter hours.
💚💚💚
4 and a half hours in Aberdeen Scotland. F....g incredibile.
Really cool cover. Page nails the piano riffs
In 2012, when Bob Dylan was questioned over his alleged plagiarism of others music he responded, "It's an old thing -- it's part of the tradition. It goes way back". In 1998, B.B. King stated on the issue, "I don't think anybody steals anything; all of us borrow."They've all done it. If it's so simple, rip of LZ and make a few million with your excellent chops.
That is Soo true
It's fcuking common theft.
Greta Van Fleet?
Dylan, like Page, has plagiarized. That's why he says it isn't a big deal. That's how that goes.
(What this has to do with "Blueberry Hill" I have no idea.)
@@Dickinaboxomg please, they aren't anything close to zeppelin level.
Amazing. That was just three instruments backing up Plant and yet it sounds as full as the band Fats had. Even when the rhythm guitar drops out and Page goes into a single string solo; IT STILL SOUNDS FULL!
I found my thrill...listening to this song. ♥
I had this bootleg back in the '80's, dubbed onto cassette. It was one of the first highly-rated bootleg recordings and includes the entire show. I love Jimmy's solo on "Blueberry Hill", it's absolutely perfect.
This was one of the most sought after bootleg recording ever. The only other Zep bootleg more popular was the 1975 Earls Court. Thx uploaded for this.
Bobby's voice is just like Jimmy's guitar. Talk about light and shade, the contrasts are incredible! The bad part is that the contrast is all due to being tortured by the powers that be.
As is true with all Led Zeppelin and Deep Purple songs, this number makes me feel pain, rage, joy, and then laughter, a total musical circle of magic. Most do not have a high enough level of thought to recognize and feel laughter from these songs, but then I know what the vocals and guitar are really saying as I grew up in a criminal element, so very full of anguish, however, now I can laugh, negative to positive conversion that only gods can create. Very often, the words get in the way of the true meanings of songs, but then other times, they really do help. You have to go by the feeling the words and notes give off, and even then it gets very tricky. Just ask yourself " why are we here on this planet?" I always say it is a process of separating the energies, positive from matter and negative.
They met a few times but they didn't party regularly. Led Zeppelin, especially Robert Plant, loved Elvis and Robert Plant still sings Elvis' praises today.
Elvis agreed to meet after a little kid he had adopted as a penpal during his time in the army wrote him that his favorite band was Led Zeppelin. Apparently Elvis was a little wary of it, but then Plant sung the opening verse to "Love me" (Treat me like a fool...) and they hit it off and talked for hours to the chagrin of Memphis Mafia.
This is a totally unbelievable version of this song. How Robert Plant tears it up when he does half way through is just amazing. Wish I'd have been able to be at a concert, but alas, born in 1973...
Best version of Blueberry Hill that I've heard, but I am biased......I bought this album when I was 13 in 1971. The bloke who ran the Record Shop said to me one day, want to check out something a bit different? And pulled some Bootlegs out from under the counter, I was a regular in his shop. It cost me 12 bucks AU of my hard earned cash way back then, which was a lot, but was worth every cent. Unfortunately my oldest brother didn't care for records like I did and took it to lots of party's and it got ruined.....I ordered a CD on line today, it will take me back to my youth! Great Record, no doubt it'll be a poor recording by today's standards, Jimmy should clean it up and do a Remaster for us!
+ADRIAN WELLS I had the boot "Starway to Heaven" , recorded in Italy around the same time with this on it, but I leant it to a "Friend" of mine Who was nuts about Led Zep, that was the last I ever saw of it. That's what "Friends" are for right? at least I can hear it here.
Fongolitus bro you told me give it back when im done and im not done yet ~
Hey Adrian, I have the real deal album and cover as purchased in the early 70's from a bootleg record store. As pristine as the day I bought it. Interested??
best version is Fats Domino no one beats him! actually this is bad and I have 7 LZ albums, one of my fav groups
$12.00..👊😎👍Golden🙏👌💕🎸🎵Cheer's🍻
I found my thrill
On Blueberry Hill
On Blueberry Hill
When I found you
The moon stood still
On Blueberry Hill
And lingered until
My dream came true
The wind in the willow played
Love's sweet melody
But all of those vows you made
Were never to be
Though we're apart
You're part of me still
For you were my thrill
On Blueberry Hill
The wind in the willow played
Love's sweet melody
But all of those vows you made
Were never to be
Though we're apart
You're part of me still
For you were my thrill
On Blueberry Hill
Someone gave me this bootleg double LP when I was 14 or 15 (people did stuff like that in the early '70's). It was on "Del Pez Records". It was white with a cheap all blue design something like LZ III - a little collage of art and other pictures. I listened to this album every day for about three years, then it disappeared in the haze of pot and girlfriends...get this record if you can! I saw Led Zeppelin at MSG in '77 and they were great, but this record is them at their very best!!!
OMG, this is so bloody brilliant!! The BEST version of Blueberry Hill!!
Fats was the best. The original.
Woke up with this in my head.
This is nothing short of fucking awesome..
1:37 jesus christ roberts voice was incredible!!!
This song itself as a composition has been forgotten by time. Which makes it even more alluring
I’m surprised how loud it is! Other worldly forces.
Encore from one of my all time favourite bootlegs! Joy...
No way Zeppelin doing Fats. You gotta be kidding me!! Where have all these old covers come from on youtube? I have every Zeppelin album and there are none of these covers on them. Of course these are live i know that but i never knew they did so many covers live. Such a great band
i'm an old fart who loves the 50s 60s 70s, and the great stuff that came before. 20s dixieland jazz, delta blues. and zep encompassed all those styles. i sometimes pick on zep and many of their fans take them(the band) and themselves too seriously. zep had fun and many times couldn't pull it off live, but rock and roll doesn't have to be perfect. energy and feel are more important than technique. no one ever sounded like them.plant would be amused at our discussions. he's a country singer now!!
Dirty blues love it.❤️.
The gods of rock.
what a killer show this was, nice post. Good times bad times was absolutely the best.
Have you ever heard Blue Monday? Nothing beats that song. That shit is just as intense as it gets.
STUNNING!!!!!
This is absolutely marvelous! Love it, love Fats Domino´s version as well of course, but this jam is just something else :)
I still have my TMOQ Boot of this show, itwas releaseda few weeks after the concert and before LZ III was even out. There is also a "Rubber Dubber" version of this show, and possibly more.
Pretty cool, Led doing this one. They were really good.
I adore this version 🎶❤️🙏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏
Thanks I have really enjoyed the cd I bought.Never felt bad ,just enjoyed it.Led Zepp.is the best band ever.Robert Plant still rocks .Page is a master guitar player.
Without Zep, a lot of bands would not be what they are today. They are an influence.
How LOW can this man go? He's practically unrecognisable until he climbs up that octave!
Good one. LIVE ON BLUEBERRY HILL was one of the first, best Zep concert bootleg recordings in circulation back in the '70's, and it still rocks. Would I have loved to hear a soundboard recording of this show! But the concert is captured in its entirety on this audience recording, and it's excellent. Fats Domino's "Blueberry Hill" is the final number of the evening. This version is great, and Jimmy lays down a perfect guitar solo. And Robert's mixed vocal style is great, too. Thank you!
Timeless....just how it should be, Zeppelin where sheer class.
amazing.love lz take on this song.wow, thanx
oh my God!!! this is great!! my heart is full of blues....
This bootleg album which I happen to have is in the top 5 live boots along with Fillmore April 69 and the bbc 69 and 71 which I have also great stuff. Especially early 69 some shows the main act refused to go on after them , awesome stuff.
awesome! Zep covered a ton of old tunes in those days!
Amazing! The best band of all time!
Where have you been young man?On top of blueberry hill!
the sexiest song I ever heard, Led Zepplin rocks but Robert Plants voice makes Led Zepplin who they are. Greatest voice in the music bussiness.
Roberts voice really kicks in @approx 2minutes. Some of the best his voice ever sounded. Way better than The Song Remains the Same Live album. Still say “Live at the BBC Sessions” definitely the best Robert EVER!! Even better than the studio recordings.
This is so amazing! I just wish someone could take this and sharpen/ clear up all the static in the audio, then it would be even more superb than it is now!
Fascinating and cool. That's all.
Man, thanks for posting this! This was always one of my favorite bootlegs. I had it on vinyl, but I've no idea what became of it. I bet I haven't heard this in 25 years. Great stuff!
I love it! Thanks for putting it up!
i don´t know this version, but it´s great...Fun pure
I would love to have the raw tape to this show, I've had this bootleg since the early 1970's
Didnt even know they had played this song, how many surprises can we get from those legends?
Holy shit ! This is awesome !
I love how JPJ could have played this on piano, like Fats Domino, but they decided to make it noice and heavy by having Jimmy play the piano parts on guitar, the solo is amazing!
the greatest ever
Excelente por donde se lo mire!
yeah, plant could sing everything. I once saw a video, where plant impersonates elvis and sings "treak me like a fool" in a low voice. I was surprised. Really, plant is amazing.
Simply amazing range, but it's more than that. There is a gutteral vibrance to it that cannot be taught or copied.
sexest song I have ever heard.robert plants voice is so fantastic such deph and range in one song.It makes ypu tingle all over.I stooped so low as to buy a bootleg cd because i could not get enough of hearing Robert Plant sing On Blueberry Hill.
wow i love this. they should have done this on an album.
the greatest band ever
1:58 what in this holy world has my ears just took in an shook my whole perception of my guitar ability.
shhhhhh EASY! love it. Would give anything to have been there.
The vast majority of the music they recorded was their own. Oh and btw, I know someone very well who is close friends with Robert Plant so I could always get him to answer that for me
Who know Robert Plant get sing so LOW. Love it.
Jimmy's axe playing here is pretty good as well! Check out zepp 4-25-1969; the version of you shook me is soooo powerful!
Boy, Bobby's voice is some kind of intense electrical surge, where the current is always up and running, as is obvious. This is the stuff auto lightning is made of---and I do mean AUTO!
got the collector 6 cds boxset with this track and many more
Too Cool I Have This Record One Of My Prized Possessions
The boyz do it again...it think it is true Zep stuff...homage really....some may think it is horrid, but Plant displays his range....u must remember that these boys in 1970 were the New Wave and attempted anything they could musically...sometimes it didn't work....but i think this is classic Zeppelin saying 'Here We Are"....
YES! it's killer to hear Zeppelin, especially Bonham play some stuff like this. but then again, they played anything they got their hands on, with perfection.
Jimmy's guitar tone here is incredible. When I think of the Gibson PAF humbucker tone and what is the benchmark of PAF tone its Pages live guitar tone in August/September 1970 on this entire bootleg and at gigs Ike Milwaukee Oakland Boston Honolulu and the September 19 Msg shows. Vancouver 1970 although from earlier in the year has bad ass guitar tone as well. It's very difficult to have that much clarity and note separation while using that much overdrive. Gibson Pafs and custom spec Hiwatt amps through celestion loaded Marshall cabs are that magical signal chain in 1970 .. latter when page switched from Hiwatts to Marshall's and had to replace the bridge Paf after it failed and choose a Gibson T Top his tone changes significantly and while he got amazing tone with Marshall's and T top humbuckers his tone was not as exciting and at times could be bland and a bit dull like his 1975 tone . Even his 71 and 72 tone sounds a little plainer and I find his 1973 MSG tone while great to be a bit overrated. 69 and 70 and to a lesser extent 1971 are where it's at for page tone . July 69 to September 1970 is the pinnacle of PAF tone especially August/September 1970
where is this blueberry place.
On a hill apparantly
Very cool
Exellent Veryyyyyyyyyyyy Gooddddddddddddddd
👍🇬🇧❤BRAVO
Wow never heard this beofre, thanks for posting it =]
i wore this album out in the early 70's. dazed and confused especially. i drew my own picture on the cover.
i think it was pig records," the trade mark of quality"
FATS!!! Great song from the early days of rock n' roll. great cover
Oh my Robert😩❤️
If you don't take lessons and have just started they are very useful
I wish they recorded a studio version of this
Damn I cant find the guitar tabs for this song
Just the riff would be fine
Pleaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaasseee!!!
I saw them sing this i n 1970 lol
Plants voice is an absolute anomaly. Imagine him in his prime on American idol.
Fats Domino
song reminds me of cheap trick, can't believe they never covered it.
The Boys did a great job on this classic.
wish i could have been there ;)
