I started Poke-Collect with a $1000 investment back in 2018 and it's grown to a multi million dollar business in just 5 years. I'm going to show you how I would start another Pokémon Card business using what I know now in 2023.

Please help. So when creating a shopify website. I'm really having trouble figuring out how to set up the taxes and all that. Also do I have to register it as a business first in my state in order to set up the taxes?? Is there anyone you can recommend that can help me do this?? I also have a ebay store. I wanna make it all like one legit business. Do I need a llc or do I have to get a business license or anything?

I'm a small-scaled rip and ship streamer based in singapore and have been doing so for the past 8 months in the hopes of generating enough revenue n profit and eventually expanding into an actual physical store while enjoying the fun of opening packs for the community. Sadly store rent is super expensive here in my country and due to that fact its virtually impossible to get distributor sealed products. As you guessed, it isnt really the best source of income as it really isnt generating the best amount of profits (its a side hustle for me at the moment) and to be frank im losing the motivation to carry on with what im doing 😢
However, this video has definitely boosted my morale in expanding my side hustle as whatever shown is definitely gonna help me boost my business one way or another. Super informative video. Can't wait for the upcoming videos man, you forced me to turn on notifications for only YOUR channel 😂

As someone interested and debating on using their personal collection to kickstart a storefront, would you find value in taking a current inventory of current items and seeing what the cost margin would be on current inventory held before going down this route? I have an array of base set item (master sets of fossil, team rocket and jungle in good condition), bunch of neo series, as well as more modern sets like single and sealed trainer boxes and cases of Evolving skies, Brilliant stars & astral radiance. Despite feeling like it would be a solid inventory to start with, I was wondering if there would be any signal from checking inventory to basing whether it would be worth while, or if it is just a matter of doing your own market research and deciding how much time you want to invest in beginning from the ground up based on what you have. Thank you! I definitely would start with e-commerce. The risk reward for a storefront is pretty bad so you’d have to be crushing it with e-commerce before I would ever consider doing a storefront.

The problem with whatnot though is that they can deny applications to stream. I was denied for not having enough inventory, but when I asked for clarification on how much inventory I needed they would not answer. Unfortunately it’s not a good platform for new sellers.

Almost immediately because of the low investment and zero overhead. Pokémon is great because you can start online in your spare time.

I sign up as a vendor at comic cons. I make thousands and thousands of dollars of reselling Pokémon cards.

How do all these tips relate to starting in the EU instead of USA? I guess distributer wise, you should focus on different companies
I have never submitted cards for grading, so forgive the ignorance, but when submitting to CGC do you need to pay for the subgrades in order to be able to receive a perfect 10?
Nope! Perfect 10 subgrades are free

Only differences would be with your business license, you would need to check your local requirements.
Do you think they’ll still be making Pokémon cards in 20 years? And/or will the prices go up if they do?
It’s made it 25 years so far. If it does survive another 20 years then cards will certainly go up in price.

Yeah but won’t distributors not work with you unless you’re buying thousands of dollars in product that most of us don’t have lol at least that’s what I’ve heard from a lot of people that they had to spend over 5k just for any distributor to want to do business with them

Great video. I work in IT and my day-to-day is not very busy. I've been thinking about getting another full-time job, but I think I will attempt selling Pokemon as a side-hustle. Who knows...maybe I can quit my 9 to 5, but I won't hold my breath.
