    Hi Stephanie,
    My fiancĂ© who was my very best friend, passed away unexpectedly about 3 years ago. He died right next to me while I was asleep at only 36 years old. Losing him completely flipped my world upside down. The journey since then has been extremely painful and challenging. The first year, I honestly didn’t even want to live anymore but moment by moment, I grew stronger and stronger. I allowed myself to feel what I needed to feel and sit in my sadness. That was the best thing I could have ever done. Usually when people are faced with such negative emotions, it’s understandable to want to distract yourself from the pain. But I knew that if I was ever going to get past this, I had to face it. I spent a lot of time alone with my pain and I took care of it because it was a part of me. I got to know myself on a level I never have before and I’ve learned to actually love myself for the first time in my life. It took me over two years, but I’m finally working again. I have my hard days but my spirit is filled with love and gratitude instead of fear, anger, or resentment. I really do think that if I hadn’t allowed myself to process the loss and hadn’t loved myself through it with out judgement, I know I wouldn’t be in the place that I am today. I wouldn’t have the relationship with myself that I have and I’d probably still be stuffing all that pain and grief deep down inside and covering it up with some kind of artificial distraction. Thank you for your video. It helped me realize just how far I’ve come and how much I’ve helped myself heal and grow. 💕

      Marisa Ericson i’m so sorry that you lost your fiancĂ© and best friend! I cannot imagine what that must of been like to go through. You are an incredibly strong and loving person to have gone through that experience and can see how all the progress you have made and all the ways you needed to take care of yourself in order to begin to heal. All the best!

    • @marisajane7229
      @marisajane7229 Pƙed 6 lety +14

      Thank you, Stephanie. Initially it wasn’t a matter of strength. I had no choice but to keep breathing. There were so many moments when I was certain I was going to die because I didn’t think that I could withstand the emotional pain I was in. After he had been gone a month I remember being in shock that I was still alive. It was surreal. Almost 3 years has passed and I don’t think I’ve still fully accepted that he’s gone, it’s strange because for some reason, in my heart I just keep hoping. But that’s ok. I have had to face something unthinkable and accepting my feelings and thoughts instead of shaming them is a big part of what’s helped me heal and grow. Self acceptance along with gratitude. I recognize that my grief is so heavy because our bond was so transforming. And I’m grateful for the opportunity to experience a loving relationship that was so pure and free of ego (manipulation, control, jealousy, resentment...), as I have been there as well. I love your videos. They have helped me come to terms with failed relationships from long ago. Keep doing what you’re doing! You’re helping so many people!!!

    1) Manage your state. You are choosing to feel a certain and accepting its your responsibility to control your emotions. Doesn’t mean you are not allowed to have the feeling. Start living by that you will no longer be a victim. Be mindful of what you are feeling.
    2) Take responsibility for your emotions. What is the story that is causing me to feel this way and change perspective of this story
    3) curious with yourself and emotions. What is the root as to why I am feeling this way. I am feeling really stressed because I don’t know what is happening in the future.When you are mindful and live in these moments do you experience joy and happiness.
    4) sit in your emotions but have to move on.
    Have to recognise what are my emotions and how am I standing.

    I use my negative emotions. I acknowledge them and tend to use them as a vice to push harder. My mentor taught me that most success is out of spite. I still do a lot of positive things and not lash out at people.
    My negative emotions come from childhood verbal abuse and disappointment in people that have put me down, deceived and being betrayed by people that I put my guard down.
    But, this might be a bit twisted, but I just cut these people off and power through it. It's not easy, but I don't allow it to control my life.

    • @jolaola1987
      @jolaola1987 Pƙed 3 lety +2

      I recognised that my jealousy comes from the fear of abandonment and validation that comes from men, codependency, attachment. From spiritual point of view if you cling on to something or someone or get too attached, you actually produce spiritual aggression towards the object and draw energy from it (vampirism) therefore you have to loose it. So the fear of me causing me to loose someone due to jealously kind of stopped me from at least exposing that reaction.
      Next thing is that were never able to extract love and loyalty from anyone because if we could, it would be valueless anyway, and the love and care that we actually need is given free, only by free will of the other person. So theres no point making any pressure because if we do we might only cause other part to feed us a lie just to calm us down, but result in a huge disappointment later on.
      Another reason why i stopped my jealousy is that i kept "self parenting/coaching" myself by making me appreciate and value myself, and conclude that if i can admire myself then there's the maching person in the world who also will admire, love and respect me. So showing my jealousy would only expose that i dont feel good enough, that i dont deserve appreciation for who i am and what i am. Even if im not yet what i want to be i am alright with it and actively improving things that i want to change so theres still room for improvement.
      And being confident like that if my man flirts with another woman i only observe his behaviour and if he doesn't stay loyal to me then he can go his own way because me extracting sweat and tears of him instead of receiving his free love is tok much of a hard and disgraceful job for me.

    • @jolaola1987
      @jolaola1987 Pƙed 3 lety +1

      As for the trust issues never show it to the man, never expose the insecurity. Always make him feel like you trust him 100% and that gives him power and responsibility that every man wants. Only confront him when you're hundred percent sure that he's doing wrong but then only say how you feel sad, hurt disappointed etc.

    Thank you, great video! This is SO needed, because so many of us are raised in dysfunctional families these days - we don't get emotional management training in too many cases. Our parents didn't know how to manage emotions or in many cases even take responsibility for their emotional states, modeling blaming and shaming and projection instead. Passive aggression, backhanded compliments, outright hostility, control games... we got trained, but in all the unhealthy ways to manage our states. Interestingly, the deeper under-layer I find (under the sadness beneath the surface emotion) is almost always fear. Analyzing the fear can help me look at the underlying misperception, offering spiritual growth as well as psychological growth.

Some things are helpful, although if you have been violently abused, you aren't, ' choosing,' to be angry about that, you are going through a healthy reaction to that abuse. You have to move through those feelings.

    We have to manage our state of my mind, it's our responsibility
    It's our choice
    She's able to objectively detach from her feelings, rise above it and not get attached to the emotion or stuck in the discomfort.
    Feel the emotion and then detach from it so you can learn from the experience. People sometimes wallow in their pain for too long and it consumes them. We need to learn how to let go of negative emotions by practising mindfulness and staying in the moment, becoming aware of your surroundings, notice the colors around you, the view you see at this moment, where are you sitting in this moment. It redirects you from ruminating on stuck emotions from triggers or unpleasant memories and helps shift your perspective to the present moment. I found this technique to be helpful in overcoming anxiety and overwhelm. It redirects my perspective to the here and now, living in the moment versus the past. It's a subtle but effective shift to redirect your awareness

    Really interesting and important video. Take care of your own mental health. If your intuition is saying this is bad, unhealthy...listen up. These people are out to damage and hurt you. Why? I don't understand why. Meanness because they are judgemental and arrogant. My personal experience.

    During the relationship I pretty successfully called out and checked most of the narcissistic tactics of my ex. I also ended the relationship and did so inflicting a narcissistic injury to them to remember. But it still takes time to recover and now and again I still get triggers that remind me and make me feel bad. The best solution is understanding and educating yourself. You can then more quickly address these flashbacks and go on moving forwards.

    I know all of this wisdom comes from shooting and missing for an entire lifetime, and that you will probably do more of that. but please know that your own journey at least right now has really uplifted me today. it's not nice to see the world as complex. it often feels really, really bad. just know that today it has taken at least one person from a small place to a bigger place, which may not feel nice but at least it feels like me

    Own those feelings, if you feel you don't know how to get unstuck, get counselling if you can. If you can't get counselling (usually lack of $$ or denial of ownership) then research ways to own, cope with and overcome the negative effects and impact on your life. Thank you 💖 for always giving such helpful and insightful guidance 💖

    Thank you so much for all these informational videos. I've recently started therapy and found out that I've been raised with emotional abuse by my parents and finally I'm able to make sense of why I've been feeling all these shame, hatred, anger, and anxiety and that I've been repressing them as best as I could all my life. However, even though I'm grateful for this self realization, I also feel terrible that as much as I hate my parents, I feel like I also learned their negative behaviors myself and often want to act out(criticizing someone really harsh and putting others down, hating people, blaming on others, giving cold looks) in the same way as my parents hurt me. I know that those behaviors are unhealthy because I was the victim of emotional abuse but at the same time I have this strong urge to control my sadness and anger in the same way as my parents did and every time I see myself wanting to act that way or feeling super anxious, trying to control everything, I feel guilty and cannot accept myself for being that way. Can you talk about this issue of feeling horrible about yourself when you see your parents in you in the future? Love all your videos and I hope more people to see your video.;)

    Great suggestions, and everything you have shared is very useful and applicable to get one’s emotions straightened out.
    How about handling situations that a narcissist does to you on a routine basis when you are exhausted and stressed from work? What they do to you is like place one’s head in a vice on a daily basis.
    My spouse kept doing spiteful things, even when I strove to stay calm and face my emotions. She has consistently been disrespectful and intentionally pulling the rug from under my feet daily.
    These suggestions only work when separate from a narcissist, and you have time to yourself. Its fleeting, because just when you start pulling things together emotionally, the narcissist unravels you again.
    I’ve been sad a long time by being with my narcissist. Finally escaping after being brutally discarded by her.
