Just finished replacing mine. Took 53 minutes and it's pretty simple. Just move slow when you get to the clips. I used a headlamp to see into the small space & how to remove the clips. Now the picture is 120% better especially at night and I have the moving guide lines when I am trying to back into a tigh spot. Thanks MacT...
Tools:
12 mm long socket for 6 bolts.
15-T Torque bit.
5/16 long socket to push two tabs in.
Small screw driver or large micro screw driver.
Needle nose vise gribs to remove 6 screws.
Headlamp to see into small area.

Just finished replacing the camera in my wifes 2012 edge, thank you so much for this video, it helped a bunch and also saved me a ton of time, it took me exactly 30 mins from start to finish.
I had the same issue with my 2012 Lincoln MKX. The dealer quoted me $700. I’m not mechanically inclined by any means, but the upside down camera had me all kinds of frustrated! 😤.
I bought the camera from Amazon for $77. Took me about 2 1/2 hrs (had to adjust the camera and modify the plastic bracket holding the camera. The camera works better than the factory installed original! With the 💸 I saved I can take the Fam out to dinner! 😎Thanks! 👍

Did this tonight and it was the smoothest repair job I have ever done on a vehicle. Took about an hour and a half, and the only real difficult part was that somehow a couple of the white clips did not come off with the plastic panel so I had to get some pliers and slide them into the door to squeeze them and pull them loose. Otherwise I’d have had it done in about 20 minutes less.

I find this beyond coincidental that my 2011 just started doing the exact same thing a few weeks ago. Mine works occasionally also and other times none at all. I look forward to your findings
It's a common failure, almost all Edges will face it at least once. Ford did issue a service bulletin and I got it covered under warranty. But the factory instructions are to remove the logo and work from outside, drilling the metal to reach the screws if I remember it correctly.
Same here I have a 2011 Edge as well, and also my sunroof got stuck open, I had to tape it up to keep from raining in my vehicle
Lay down a towel... Work gently. Don't scratch up your piece like this...

I see in your video this one had no problem showing the grid and backup lines... I’ve read on some forums that people were having issues with aftermarket cameras not showing backup lines. Did you have any issues at all with this camera not showing lines or anything?

Hello! I was inspired to give this a shot thanks to your video, sadly I'm not meeting with the same success, with the old camera which is dying I still have occasional video, with no parking guides. With the new camera which I bought from the link provided, I'm given the error telling me to contact my dealership, any next steps to troubleshoot that?
I have a question. First thank you for the step by step instructions! Huge help. Are use the exact same camera you suggested however, after installation I noticed at the back up lines are off almost as if any calibration. As I’m backing up, the lines are saying I’m turning however, I’m going straight. Do you know how to calibrate those lines?

I install the camara for my 2013 Ford Edge it turn on so I put everything back on. When I tested again it didn’t work at all. I bought the camera with your part number posted on your video from Amazon. Did I do something wrong I follow all the steps and bought the same camera

Thanks a lot for this. I got one from the link you posted and replaced by following the guide here. One issue I had was removing the long screws that are threaded on both ends. What tool was that you used? I'm talking about the screws at 7:42
I just used pliers. Be careful to not smash the threads.

Ford needs address tis issue, their cameras all go out. Design allows water into the connection. Totally a manufacturer design flaw.
