On the uking website it states that this moving head has manual focus. Is this the case? What are your experiences with the motors, is there any visible stepping(choppy movement)? And how does the construction as a whole feel quality wise? Thanks in advance

Yes, manual focus.
Your experience with engines, do you see any jumps? No, but the more expensive ones run smoother.
Generally, the more expensive ones are faster and more accurate.
For this price it's ok.
