    There were some great shots of the bridge and the city..this really captures what is is like on many summer days in SF. Great balance . The fog itself is a land mark.. great appearance by KarlTheFog!
    Great shots-- fog and clear. you need both to show the real SF Bay!

    This is one of the best videos I've seen. Only takes a multi thousand dollar budget with a Helicopter, Stabilized Video Camera and permission to fly 20-500 feet off the water. Can anyone recommend a video that is better than this one?

    The cost is approx 10 million per boat. The cost to support an individual team and boat is estimated to be approx 100 million dollars. Probably slightly less if you have a two boat team.
    Do you want to get in on the action? It's only 100 million. Mere pocket change if you are a multi billionaire. Larry Ellison is estimated to worth around 43 billion. He wants to keep the Americas Cup in San Francisco. Maybe he'll loan you the money.

    What makes you think the English want Oracle to win? We need the Kiwis to win and rescope the rules to make the whole show more affordable so more teams will enter, including UK - I dont think that will happen if Ellison is in control again. Anyway all the Brits love the Kiwis! Best result would be 9 - 8 to the Kiwis.

  • @peace-now
    @peace-now Před 10 lety

    Its looking bad for ETNZ. However, we sometimes do well as underdogs. I know that Australia, England and USA all want Oracle to win. We Kiwis have fans in places like Brazil, Spain, Switzerland and of course Scotland (they will always go against anyone who the English support).

    I liked the Alcatraz shot also, but Alcatraz is kind of a nice island with some ugly looking buildings on it. Only the locals can recognize it.
    Wish they would have spent more time trying to capture the City Front and the Golden Gate Bridge with the boats sailing around. Then the public would easily recognize those landmarks.

    huh, I used to live in the town where Oracle's boat was built in New Zealand. Oracle then flew the NZ engineering team into the US to transform the boat overnight. Credit where credits due, USA won, but they didn't do it themselves, so its just plain arrogance to overlook that. But I guess if we said no to the US, then who'd be crying a river then ...

  • @Berean247
    @Berean247 Před 10 lety +1

    Actually no lol. My experience in mechanical engineering doesn't stem from marine science, neither is an area for employment. The America's Cup doesn't underpin NZ economy, nationally or locally where Oracle was constructed. As NZ Govt put finance in, it makes sense to create a return. I'm not offended at your logic, it's correct out of necessity, yet doesn't rebut facts that it's a NZ build lacking US crew. In reciprocity, well done Oracle, USA has a lot to offer.

As to the link to find out about the legal actions no links can be sent here but I suggest you visit the Emirates Team New Zealand blog for further details on the rule changes made that have nothing to do with safety and everything to do with performance that only assists the Team USA in having a advantage over all competitors.

    ETNZ does not have the same rudder wings as Oracle. The rules state that the rudders have no moving parts.NZ designed and built their boat according to these rules, hence bigger bows and generally more robust shape. Stick to the rules lads, and don't change them in your favour weeks out from racing.

    the americans aren't stupid, here they have there boat built in nz, for what ever reason I'm not sure. Then they go looking for the best crews around, and low and behold the find an aussie skipper and a few of his mate with maybe some kiwis added to the mix. And now the kiwis aren't happy because they lost. If you have to ask how much iy's going to cost then you probably can't afford to be there it's as simple as that.

    really? More ETNZ complaining? Lost confidence in your designs/team? ETNZ has the same type of rudder wings as Oracle. Study more, you'll see that they are non-adjustable.
    ETNZ deserves to win only if they are the fastest boat on the water, just the same as any other team. Furthermore, it's a complete embarrassment to the competition what ETNZ is trying to do to Artemis. I used to like ETNZ. I built many of their sails for the 2000 AC, but they have become a bunch of lawsuit-happy infants.
