- In this video, Sebastian walks us through how to calculate your Mud Weight as well as your Mud Weight Window. These are two important concepts that are fundamental to drilling operations. Also, if you want to learn more about upstream operations such as directional drilling, production, etc., then check out our upstream fundamentals course at oilfieldbasics.com/course/ups....
this is very helpful and informative, thanks
Plz explain MAASP And Top Hole.
How would you calculate the mud weight window max & min values? the 16.8 & 9.5 ppg. Thanks
Hey Chris. In the video, Sebastian goes through how to calculate the min and max mud weight values! At the end, he factors in a safety factor which is common practice in the oil and gas industry!
How would you calculate formation pressure value (0.465 psi/ft) and also fracture pressure value (0.7--- 0.9)?
Those are standarized values, would depend on your location, lithology, formation type etc
could u please write this formula in the comments for studying
Pressure (psi) = 0.052 x mud weight (ppg) x true vertical depth (ft) + atmospheric or surface pressure if necessary (psi)
