  • It is better to be: Dr. Helmi students, Drilling Fluids Engineering course: In this video,the 2 important equations of Lag time - in pump strokes - calculations are shown. One equation quantifies Lag In and the other Lag Up. Wash Out in Barrels/Mud is also calculated/explained. Lag Time in - Pump Strokes - is of daily use by the Drilling Rig Team, Wellsite Geologist, and Mud Logging Team. It accurately determines the "Wash Out" in Barrels.     Thank you for taking time to put these calculations into a video, but do you need to factor in your pump efficiency? liner and swab size are factors in these calculation as well? triplex pump example|| Output bbl/stk =
    0.000243 x (Liner ID inches)2 x Stroke inches x Eff % Im just a curious youtube viewer who works on rigs

    the equation should be ID" X OD" / 1029,4. the ,4 makes a big difference.
