- In Today's Project, We have built an enclosure for subwoofer. We also discussed about "how to design a ported subwoofer enclosure".
There are generally two ways for designing the enclosure. One is using one of the online calculators to figure out the internal volume of the enclosure and then from that, using another online calculator to figure out the port diameter and port length to get a certain tuning frequency. we have tuned our enclosure to about 38hz which is suitable for deep bass but we need to keep in mind that the subwoofer is also able to produce that frequency. so, we need to check the frequency response of the subwoofer. In our case, the frequency response of our subwoofer is 18hz-500hz.
There is also another method of designing the enclosure. That is Advanced Method. It requires more details and specs about the driver majorly the T/s Parameters of a driver. From Advanced design, we can obtain a response graph of our enclosure so that we can tune it according to get the desired output.

Band Pass are very difficult to design .. you need to be very precise in order to tune it perfectly but yes it can be done !

Good video. I am using winisd software for years because of free.
Experience- In actual practical box always hit lower than predicted tuning frequency which is good. Also flanged port also make help lower tuning of box.
True ... WinISD is great but i believe Bass Box Pro is better because it has more options like level of damping , Driver dimensions and even frequency response of driver for very accurate Simulation.

Sir I have a doubt , is the frequency of the bass is depended on the box . If I use small box for subwoofer will i get low frequency punch bass
12: I think the typical frequency range for a subwoofer is about 20-200 Hz for consumer product........ this range has covered professional live sound and THX approved system too.

14:20 If port is only one, and Diameter is 1.5 inches then Vent Length is 0.47 Inches . Kya aapke video main (14:20 minute pe) jo specification dikh rahi hai aur jo maine change ki hai, dono ki sound same hogi. Agar haan to kya humko port ki quantity aur diameter kam hi rakhne chahiye
agar port chota hua , toh hawa ko proper jagah nahi milegi nikalne ke liye... so it will cause port noise.... farrrr... farrr... ki sound ayegi

I have a 4 inch home theatre subwoofer and I need a enclosure for it. But the manufacturing company do not provide any TS parameters for the subwoofer. How can I make a suitable enclosure for my subwoofer??
T's parameters are extremely important for the designing of enclosure.... there's a tool called DATS V3 that is used to find the parameters of any driver but its expensive ... and one time investment. we always use that to check the driver .

Everything was great.. but how to know where to make the port... that part was missing... how to decide whether the port should be in the front or at the back
it does not matter where the port is ... the benefit of having port on the back side is that if the port noise occurs , it will be heard lesser. :) and there will be just very slight difference in loundness of bass.

for that you will need an equipment that's called "DATS V3" and measurement microphone to record the frequency response. search "DATS V3" on internet for more info.

we would make it for sure , actually our subwoofer got damaged the day after we shoot the video ,and now there's lockdown going on... hence, we are not able to fix it yet. But , will do it soon :) ....
