  • Ooni Karu 12 gas burner used in this video: geni.us/b3S5
This how-to covers the conversion of the Ooni Fyra 12 from using wood pellets as a fuel source to propane. The conversion uses the Karu 12 gas burner and can be completed in just a few minutes. This helps create more even heat in situations where you need to cook multiple pizzas.

Such a great video that answers all the questions I had. I've cooked upwards of 20 pizzas on my Fyra in one evening with pellets but it was one of the most stressful evenings I can remember 😅.
Do you measure the stone temperature? What are you seeing in the middle or closer to the door using the gas burner?

I am so glad you took the time to do this video and share your success. My wife probably thinks I really don't like my 2021 Father's present. That will change now, thanks to you. I just ordered the gas burner from Amazon 10 minutes ago. It will be delivered Monday.
Perhaps you have a suggestion or a solution for my other Ooni related issue. My my grill island/patio roof is made of corrugated plastic panels and the temperature of the exhaust from the chimney is too high for comfort. I have considered various diverters and chimney "add-ons", but nothing that looks very good. One option I considered was a 45° bend of vent pipe to divert the heat out... anyway diatribe over. Thanks again!

I wonder if you could get a cap that fits that diffuses the heat? Very helpful video. My unit however went out after 5 minutes. Then very hard to restart. Door was removed so that’s not the issue. I repeated the test. Hard to start, then went out on mid range after 2-3 minutes as if a bad thermocouple. Returning and may try another one.

Great video, I'd be really careful keeping that propane bottle so close to the oven in case of a gas leak, tank should be lower than oven as propane is heavier than air, unlike natural gas.

If you buy the ooni gas conversion no drilling needed. It slides in and re-screws into the unit. Took my 5 minutes to convert it over. Easy peezy. Worth the extra money to have an exclusive OONI oven even though I paid $40.00 more for the easy fit.

I was just looking on the Ooni site. They were very specific about “only for the karu.” Yeah, right. I’m buying this sucker tonight! If, for some reason, I want to cook pizzas at the park I’ll use the pellets. And on that note, they also say that you can’t use hardwood or charcoal because of the ash receptacle. I’m going to put that one to the test too.
