9" Ford - The Complete Rear End: B Dimension VS Brake Offset - CAUTION - These are not the same!

In this video, ‪@redbirdspeed5063‬ covers the difference between the B dimension and the brake offset. You will notice the inner race and bearing stick-out on the housing end make these different dimensions.
The dimension from the outside of the axle face to bearing stop also change between different bearing types. Axles are not interchangeable between 1 piece ball bearings and 2 piece tapered bearings.
When measuring this dimension, it's important to do so with the bearing OFF the axle shaft. The reason behind this is to make sure the axle gets made to the same offset. These are typically a one off custom piece. It is important to measure the offset so your brakes line up like they did before with the old axles.
If you're ordering a new housing and axles, this doesn't pertain to you. The axle manufacturer will know to make the housing ends, axle shafts and brakes all work together.
