Tavares is not an easy act to sing, no way -- but I will tell you this ... this group impressed me and I think Tavares would have given a thumbs up. Applause!
The Imposters not only had a sound, they also had excitement and a feel. The excitement was with a large group of people when the Imposters were going to play at the White Owl, or at The Club, in Waterville. You knew you were going to have a good time and the music would have everyone up and dancing from the very first song, and every song, all night. The feel was a good time, great dance music, and lots of fun with the band and the crowd. New Years Eve 1978 was one of those times.
All 5 guys were playing instruments n they were singing as well.. a great performance with beautiful vocal harmony.. esp 3.45 onwards.... Simply breathtaking....
So many great things about this video! First off, what an AMAZING cover band, probably the most accurate tribute band's I've ever seen. Second, you have to give credit to the awesome camera man for zooming out on specific parts of the song, just fits the whole vibe of the song.
Their vocal harmony is out of this world.. plus they are playing instruments as well... they sound really really good... i wish im there to see them play...
That singer...what a talent... . What happened of you guys? If I could still see and hear bands like that nowadays I would sure go back in clubs every week ends. What a great band!
Sadly, the singer, Rick Jones has passed away, taken from this earth way too soon. The keyboard player has also passed on. Rick, the soloist, started performing in church as a young lad. We knew his family well. His dad was an engineer in the paper mill where I worked. Rick was a school teacher. The keyboard player, Bill Wheeler, was a machinist in the same paper mill. These talented musicians all hailed from a small mill town in central Maine.

Great point! How spoiled we were-- Music, live bands everywhere, disco, rock prog, funk. So cool!
