- After Effects shortcuts can provide a massive increase in the speed of your workflow. So, in this tutorial, we're going to cover some of the best After Effects shortcuts...that no one has told you about. These are my favourite shortcuts and they are all shortcuts that I actually use on a daily basis!

One I use constantly is a custom shortcut to toggle between the timeline and graph editor. Mine is set to option+tab. Super handy.

Quickly switch between comps…
SHIFT + OPTION + , or . (mac)
SHIFT + ALT + , or . (windows)
(comma key goes left, period key goes right)
TAB displays the mini-flowchart where you can switch by selecting a comp there.

SHIFT + CTRL + F11 (windows)
(also found in the Composition menu -> Composition Flowchart)

Oh, finding all these commas and stuff? Hell no.
Personally, the first shortcut I've reassigned to Ctrl+Tab or Ctrl+Shift+Tab. Just like in browser so it's pretty intuitive ಠ_ಠ
I prefer left-handed gameplay so that I can keep my right hand on the mouse and my eyes focused on the monitor, thus not be distracted from the task at hand 👉
Hm.. I just realized that I shoulda try to reassign P - position hotkey (used frequently, located far away)
Anyway, that mindset I got from some article about left-handed config for Adobe Premiere (where it works the best) which saves me A LOT of time, definitely recommend you to work out this hard way of healthy mini-habits 🖤

My last learned shortcut time saver is alt-qhift + P ( or other) So fast to animate first position !

My top tier fav would be 'Quickly expand/collapse layers' - Ctrl+`
After that it usually goes with 'Deselect All Layers' - F2 or Ctrl+Shift+A
