    This is rather misleading. One of the "experts" just called a 75rd drump magazine a "clip", which is wrong. One of the AKs is full auto, the other is semi-auto but has a bump stock. They made a false equivaency between the two. Yes an AK47 can be bump fired at a high rate, but it is still semi-auto, (one pull of the trigger per round fired.) The vast majority of bump stocks are used for target shooting, not killing people or anything else. If congress wants to make bump-fire stocks illegal they should modify the NFA. The president and AG do not have the authority to do that, which is why this is at supreme court now. 75% or more of all gun homicides and 2/3 of all mass shootings are committed with hand guns, not military style rifles or full-auto weapons. Republicans have been actively blocking efforts to trace any firearms. Until that changes, serial numbers won't matter. Why don't they ever get a reporter who actually knows firearms to do this kind of thing. Educational? Really? This is spin and fearmongering, not education. I agree that people who can't be trusted with firearms shouldn't have them. But this is not helping.

    • @carlh7795
      @carlh7795 Před 2 měsíci

      The modification needed to the NFA is to trash it. Paying a tax for a right? Hmmm, like a poll tax? And then allowing someone sitting at an agency desk determining whether they'll accept your tax for the right, or deny it and make you a felon if you go through with acquiring what is Constitutionally your right to own? And having it even be law that the tax isn't allowed to be paid on machine guns after May 19, 1986? Nuts. The NFA, GCA, and Hughes Amendments should have never come close to passing.

      You can buy the lower, the part with the trigger that needs to have a few holes drilled with the jig and right sized drills included. The upper which is the hammer, barrel and slide must be ordered through a firearms dealer. It can only be bought from the dealer and a background check must be done when picked up. The plastic lower which really is all that makes it a ghost gun is useless without the metal slide, barrel and firing mechanism. A 3D printed gun can't handle the minimum 20,000 Ib. per square inch of combustion of the burning powder and explode. A plastic firing pin isn't strong enough to set off the primer.

    I would just like to remind everyone that the shooter in Las Vegas was a former IRS
    Agent with severe mental health issues. There are many things that could have been done before the shooting to prevent him from acquiring the weapons. The system failed us and the innocent victims. You can't blame bump stocks (which were legally approved by the ATF for 10 years+ previously) for the evil that men do .. and then use that as an excuse to take away our ability to not only defend ourselves but to also enjoy the sporting aspect of shooting and training. Pistols become more accurate with a brace or a stock... they don't become more dangerous for innocent civilians. These kind of misleading interviews should be followed up by equal representation with people who actually know what the facts are and are familiar with firearms. The public is being Hoodwinked with this type of propaganda.
