    The E28 actually doesn't look that bad given its age. The Audi's new look is sick tho

    People are going to shill for poly bushings, but trust me, OEM is best. The engineers knew what they were doing when they designed the car and poly introduces an incredible amount of NVH (Noise, Vibration, and Harshness) and doesn't really improve handling vs just adding bilstein shocks.

  • @fatscreen
    @fatscreen Před 3 lety

    2:52 It's convenient to put a little bit of grease between the tire and the mounting surface of the brake so you'll get them off easy next time you change the brakes (No rust)

    Very interesting indeed. At some point I will need to do this to my 1990 Volvo. So far, though, at 600,000 km and 31 years, the underside is looking good. Oil spray does keep rust away, but I know the bushings will need attention eventually.

      EN als je een slagmoersleutel gebruikt moet de rest van de gereedschappen tegen de klappen van deze slagmoersleutel bestand zijn. Dit om het risico op (aanvankelijk) onzichtbare haarscheuren te voorkomen.

    The dog bones getting replaced makes a huge difference. The body bushings need to be done on my car, its a pain but there is special tool you can you use to push out the old (E24 differs from E28 i think, you usually press them out through the body). Replace the driveshaft guibo while you are there, common failure point and easy to do while you have it so far apart. You can also upgrade that diff depending on what you have right now. I bought a 3.46LSD for my car, only to find out it already had the same diff.

    I would invest in some poliurethane bushings, considering low quality of todays replacement parts. Sand blasting, then epoxy 2K primer and powder coating is the best protection method for those parts ;) Also if you remove your front subframe you can support your engine on jacks or just axle stands, take off the oil pan and have a closer look at the main and rod bearings ;) If i did it on my s4 c4 maybe i shouldn't be doing the engine repair now... throw a bearing with no warning... Really like your content ;) Dimitri is now looking really good ;)

    Hi,
    Don’t support your car on the front frame rails, these are not lifting points and you will damage them. Use the side sills to support it using some thick rubber. It’s not great but better then the frame rails.
    If you’re just lifting the front from the ground, put Axle stands under your towing hook and adjacent side.
    If you just want to lift the back from the ground, put a Hydraulic Jack under the rear differential then lower the Car onto Jack Stands under the rear sills.
