    Go to the last rack 1:17:15. Shane made a high ball on break then shot low ball. Lost table, gave ball in hand. Ref stood up anticipating the error, allowed it to happen then called a foul. Josh went to table and almost chose the wrong balls too but ref warned him. So wrong! I’m glad Shane won. Justice!

      It's ok for a ref and sportsman like to tell a player what they are shooting when they first come to the table.
      Telling a player while they are in the middle of their turn though is not ok for a ref. Josh could of said something. But I'm sure he didnt even realize it himself. Buts that falls on the player.

    • @michaelmcdonald6794
      @michaelmcdonald6794 Před 2 lety

      This is easy... in a tournament event it is up to us as players to shoot the right shot. It is the refs job to point out a foul when they occur. However, you got to be consistent. In this case it wasn't consistent which is my problem with it. Not to mention who racked that first rack?!!!! How does a ref put the 8 in the back row. Brings me to my last point always check your rack.

    • @andrewturner1714
      @andrewturner1714 Před 2 lety

      @@ac-kt9td I would disagree. Not the ref's job. As the opponent, I would make sure they knew and if the ref did that for me as I was about to foul, I would intentionally foul but tie up a couple of their balls. So my opponent would still get ball in hand because of my screw up, but the runout would be a bit more difficult.

    • @ac-kt9td
      @ac-kt9td Před 2 lety

    I have a friend of mine that's a 620 Fargo, and he's also a skill level 6 in APA. One of these guys is a 501 and the other is a 462. I'm sorry, but this is the problem with APA ratings. These guys can't make straight in shots on bar tables with 4 3/4" pockets. That's why their Fargo ratings reflect their true skill level. I'm a 629, so I'm not that good either. 😁 Just making an observation.

    • @mattpeach6472
      @mattpeach6472 Před 2 lety

      I can promise you the 462 is a great player. Hundreds of dollars lost to him in sets confirms that. And if it matters he's only been a 6 for like 4 months. He's not one of these guys that are 6s for 20 years and never gets to a 7

    • @nineballjunky
      @nineballjunky Před 2 lety +1

      @@mattpeach6472 I’m a 629 and I definitely do not consider myself to be “great.” Calling a 462 Fargo great is like calling a 120 average bowler great because they can win money off people that are 100 average bowlers. I’m sorry, but a 462 isn’t even the average rating for all players in the Fargo database. Search “Fargo rating distribution”, and you’ll find out that 510 is about the average player rating in Fargo. To me if your average you’re not “great”. It’s just statistics sir.

    • @cakins1986
      @cakins1986 Před 2 lety

      Where do you play that a 620 Fargo is an SL 6? And is that 8 ball or 9 ball?

    • @nineballjunky
      @nineballjunky Před 2 lety +4

      @@cakins1986 APA ratings are very subjective. I think the major problem is how the data is being tracked and entered. Some people will watch and track safties and inning counts accurately and some don't. Some league operators make sure that data is input properly and some don't. Plus, league operators are incentivized to artificially increase skill levels so teams have to break up and form more teams. It's a BAD system because the APA can't ensure the data is input accurately and fairly. Fargo has its flaws too, but not as bad.

    • @chuckn.1367
      @chuckn.1367 Před 2 lety +1

      @michaelmcdonald6794 Před rokem

      @@68rastas That is a typical APA answer I have heard before. It is wrong on many points. One the player just has to miss and use that miss to lower their rating. Yes, you can put defense on an intentionally missed shot. However, despite my doing this no one's skill level among the sandbaggers got changed. I definitely score exactly as I see the match. I mark defense shots. The problem is there is lack of effort among the league operators to flag sandbaggers for unsportsmanlike like conduct. Even disqualifying their matches if need be to drive the point home on sandbagging. I believe it would help the APA to put this in their rule book with punishments listed.

    • @68rastas
      @68rastas Před rokem

      @@michaelmcdonald6794 yes it sucks at times. I used to play against a guy (sl6)who would make shots and leave himself in really bad shape. you mark it and tell the league operator what to look out for with an individual. just because you keep score properly docent ,mean the rest of the league does.
      I used to tell everyone in the league what to look for. you have to be consistent with them and your own team. eventually it comes back on them.
      I think the new app will make a lot of changes if the league starts tracking balls made per inning. because it shows much more of the problem. but you got to get out there and have fun that's what its all about.
      people play completely different when it matters that's why things change in Vegas why people and teams get disqualified.
      anyone can have an exceptional night but the league operator can't see every game, anymore than you can. that's why the money is tied up in tournaments. all you can do is your part.
