Me, applying to grad school 4-5 months ago: Oh yeah, no, I'm not going to have time to do NaNo in the middle of doing a graduate degree *and* holding down a job *and* pursuing my dance training, plus I think I may have fallen out of love with writing and I probably need to spend that time working and searching my creative soul instead of trying to force something out
Me, watching this video, feeling November creep ever closer, also feeling a massive resurgence of writing inspiration and general curiosity and creativity: ... well shit

You sound like me....after thinking mysef out of writing when I was mid twenties. I lost years that I could have been writing because I was comparing myself to others and I failed to learn plot and structure early-on. BUT now that I studied, practised, and set a daily writing schedule, the writing and editing are natural for me.
Every time I get a notification for the Kat video I go from expressionlessly staring into my screen to lighting up the room. It scares people.

I'm taking my first college creative writing class and our first project is a short story. I'm fairly confident in my ability to generate ideas, but it's always good to be reminded to just have fun with ideas rather than being so straightforward and intentional. This vid couldn't have come at a better time!
I hope you make it, just believe in yourself.
I don't know about you but to me this seems like a story for a guy to get blackout drunk and wakes up with a tattoo possessed by an ancient sorcerer who is trying to bring themself back to life.

I know this video is quite a few months old by now, but I've only just discovered it and it has been BEYOND helpful for me! I've been in a fiction-writing slump for about five years now and this video got me inspired to write for the first time since I was 17. I'm writing a novel for my thesis project in my Bachelor's degree and this video has been such a godsend to help inspire me to write. You're awesome, Kat!!!
This is one of the best "writing/storytelling" videos I've seen on youtube, hands down. You probably didn't intend for that to be the outcome, cause, hey, who needs that pressure, amirite?! Still. This was great. Thank you.

I'm so sad that this video is already over, I was in love with it. There were so many super interesting ideas and I just wanted to read them all right now. Favorite has got to be the father and teenage girl one though, that would be hilarious! Imagine the son trying to befriend the girl to connect with his dad, and then falling in love with her. OH MY GOSH!
