    There was zero spice or flavor in this book. I liked the super sweet romance but a lot was unrealistic and I need my books to be more on the realistic side. They had no HR department what so ever until the end of the book. The author told us Aaron had blue eyes more than 10times in the first couple of chapters. Like we got it, eyes like the ocean. Anytime Daniel was mentioned she reminded us he was the best man and brother of the groom as if we forgot. At times Aaron’s responses were not at all what a man would ever say. And if we’re being honest, Aaron popping up around the corner everytime creeped me out. He gave me slight stalker vibes.

      Yes! Agreed. Not enough spice. A bit of stalker vibes from Aaron! A bit repetitive and slow in places. Hopefully the next book this author writes will be more interesting!

      Im glad you liked it! I know so many people who loved it. I wanted to love it. I do like the fake dating trope. Some of my fav fake dating books are: the love hypothesis, she drives me crazy, take a hint Dani brown.

    I liked Rosie the most from the whole cast, which is really sad. Both Lina and Aaron were boring. There was nothing memorable about them :/
    I don't have anything against predictable romance as long as it still has some flavor. I like following along a wholesome plotline but reading the book felt more like a chore. Some scenes that didn't really add anything were described in detail, whereas something as big as the wedding was basically skipped?
    The structure was sort of all over the place and although the book is fairly long it felt like I got basically nothing out of it.
    I think the simple execution of this romance would've bothered me less if it hadn't been labeled as "enemies to lovers". if a book has that trope, i except HATE and some complex slowburn. if we're being honest, it wouldn't have changed a lot if they had been just casual colleagues from the get go.
    Interesting review and I agree on all of your points except the one about Spain. To me, it felt like they were in Spain. The details around it were more subtle, which I like. You're right that the atmosphere could've been stronger but it didn't bother me as much, to be honest.

      Thank you for the comment. Yes, I also was expecting more HATE and some complex slow burn (how good is a good slow burn btw!). Reading the book definitely felt more like a chore to me, especially the beginning.I also feel like I got nothing out of it! 🤷‍♀

    Booktok overhyped this book! The book is so long and for what, it should have been like 200 pages shorter lol After a few chapters I returned the book

      Yes I wish it was shorter. I think for the story it was telling, the length of a Colleen Hoover book would have been good.

    This book was too long and for no reason. Lina just kept banging on all the time with her wordy thoughts, and the word “baby” was SO annoying. I did enjoy the first half of the book, but at a certain point I just became bored and couldn’t wait to get it all over and done with. 3 stars.

    I am currently reading this book. On Chapter 6. Not getting the pull yet. The author keeps reminding us about what Aaron did to Lina a year ago. Which I think is silly to hold a grudge. So far I feel Lina is the one who is not willing to hear out what he has to say and immediately gets to judge him. I hope it changes in the coming chapters....

      @@ashleyarden3530 so, I came here to say that am done with the book. One sentence - I regret buying this book. There was no chemistry between the leads, some unnecessary characters were introduced, we didn't get to hear more about the wedding, tired of reading her monologues. It was boring. Shame.

    I’d say some things were just…dumb…because how can a man suddenly jump from hating her to all of a sudden doing weird stuff with her. He feels weird and like a creepy guy you’d avoid talking to in the bus or the hotel lobby. And lina… dang don’t even get me started. She was such a dummy. usually a 28-year-old woman is at least a little bit more mature than her. she acts like she understands nothing. I saw some internal conflict but it was very little and if Aaron wasn’t a little too stubborn or bad or actually helped her get through this and not just do weird stuff for the sake of it. It’s like “I don’t care about you or your conflicts any of that. But I do like your body and apparently I’m in love with you because of that, lina. So I’ll just do it anyway.” It was pretty both Aaron and lina should’ve been written well. I’m currently finished chapter-19 and entered chapter 20 and I already think I wanna stop reading this 😅

    One thing I did not like is that "Aron" does not seem to have any personality, I finished the book and never he made any mistake, any flawn nor soft spot. he wasn't funny or witty, a tasteless caracther. That was boring, he does not have to be crazy, but come on give it more... emotions.

  • @yup4264
    @yup4264 Před 10 měsíci

    Both aaron and lina have no personality. And lina is one of the dumbest characters, how many hints does a person need to give.I ve also noticed that characters appear for like a chapter and then completely disappear. 95% of the book is lina and aaron interacting with each other, theres no big events. I appreciate that it her first book but either you have writing method or plot to run the ship. This one sank. My rating would've been higher had the book been shorter.
