Totally agree with the Tharion plot. It kind of took me out of the story because the logic made no sense to me. It made it feel like a means to an end for a plot point… I’m sure it will be an important tie in later in the series.
I also imagined the minority report tanks.
I love a crossover! I had the same thoughts about different eras though. I was also intrigued by the language barrier. I feel like that’s often left out of fantasy because there’s always some translator device.
That’s true about the language barrier thing! I’m glad I’m not the only one who thought of the Minority Report tanks! Yes, the Tharion plot took me out of the story for sure! I wish the third book was coming out sooner! I need to know what happens!!!!

So, these are my thoughts on the book, I wrote them down while watching your video, so it might be a bit of a ramble 😅
I totally agree with you on the Tharion part, he is so bad at making decisions and just standing up for himself. I really hope that he won’t become on of the Viper Queen‘s mindless minions.
I was really sad to learn that Sophie was actually dead, I would have liked for her and Cormac to be together or to at least see each other once more.
But I actually also like that Emile has no powers and that Bryce sent him to her parents to give him some sort of normal life.
I’m really looking forward to the development of the relationship between Ruhn and Lidia. I suspected her to be Agent Day several times, but then I was unsure again, but I really liked this revelation. Ialso think that they are mates and I was really heartbroken when Ruhn wouldn’t talk to her in his mind at the end.
I like that the Princes of Hel seem to be kind of the good guys and I would have loved to see more of Aidas, especially after the epilogue of the first book.
I also hoped that Hunt’s father would be revealed in the second book. I kind of picture him to be Apollion’s son. Hopefully SJM will put that into the third book.
I had the exact same thought about the mystics and it did feel really weird to me, but I like where the story between Ithan and the Alfa wolf seems to be going.
Oh my god, the ending though.. my head basically exploded.. I was waiting for something like this to happen ever since the hint of a cross over in the ToG series.
I can’t wait to read the third book and to see Bryce and the ACOTAR characters interact!
You’re welcome! I am also really looking forward to more Ruhn and Lidia. I live for them! :) That would be interesting if it turned out that Hunt’s Apollion’s son! I need more of the Princes of Hel too. SJM needs to get on that third book. I really can’t wait! :) Hopefully it won’t be too long!
I love this book. I enjoyed it so much. My thoughts, when the hell hound explained his family genealogy that sounded a lot like throne of glass and fenris. Also that Bryce said rhysand looks like rhunn. made me think what of rhysand sister did leave & she somehow ended up in Bryce home. Yes, I believe rhunn & lilida are mates. Also that the bad guys put a slave brand back on to hunt head. That just broke my heart.
Thanks for the comment! :) It broke my heart too when they put the slave halo on Hunt at the end!!! You might be on to something with the connection to throne of glass! I hope that Ruhn and Lidia make up in a big way in book 3 ;) Sarah J. Maas says she has a contract for three books but that there might be more depending on where the characters lead her…so maybe we will get a book that focuses on Ruhn one day??

My one big question… if aelin closed the portals to travel through worlds, how did Bryce get there? I also think the mystic is going to be key for hunt and the others to find where Bryce has gone.
That is a good question. The ending did confuse me a bit! The way I understood it was the Luna horn was used to seal off the world preventing travelling through portals to other places. When the horn (now on Bryce’s back) was repaired in book 1, travel through portals became possible again using the now repaired horn. That’s how Micah was able to bring lower demons through in book 1. So at the end of book 2, Bryce was able to use her horn and starlight power to portal. I totally think you’re right about the mystics. I didn’t realize that but now that you say it that makes total sense. My question is how will Ruhn and Hunt escape?
