I'll be watching as a neutral. I'm Scottish, so if Spain win, we won't have to listen to the English media bang on about winning it for the next 58 years. If England win, it will be joyous watching all the sad little Nat's up here walking around with their faces tripping them. So, for me, it's a win win.

I’m going to say what I’ve said this tournament began. I have to live in Scotland with two unbearable smug teams I can barely stomach….so England winning the euros is nothing compared to having to live within earshot of rangers and Celtic fans and having to see their shirts everywhere(I don’t mind seeing rangers and celtic in Glasgow but I’m in Moray!)

Where I’m from the biggest club is in the second division of Scottish football(and don’t get me wrong I love um but i understand wanting to support someone with a bit more quality so that’s why I also support me dad’s club, helped that my gran lived there till I was 21 so I spend a fair bit of time in the pars backyard) but Luton? Pardon my ignorance but wasn’t Luton is the premiership? So why support Liverpool or Chelsea? Chasing glory is just a d*ck move, so while I can’t stand rangers or celtic fans in my neck of the woods I somewhat get it given the closest club of quality is an hour away by car, your situation I understand even less(roundabout way of saying you’re damn right).

Spain have been the best team of the tournament and thoroughly deserve to be in the final whereas England have been pretty poor all through the tournament and have somehow still managed to find their way to the final.
Squeaking through wins against Slovakia and the Netherlands by scoring a 90+ minute goal isn't really the sign of a great team and shouldn't really fill anyone with confidence. Every team that England has faced so far have had their own problems whereas Spain have had none at all, so this will be England's first real test against a flawless team which I can't see them passing which is why I see Spain winning 2-1.
As for the comments on the media, I can see where they're coming from as the media/commentators can get pretty insufferable whenever England play but especially so whenever England win. Be it Guy Mowbray's England commentary which always gets scarily close to the old jingoism or the news' relentless coverage, it's always just a little bit over the top and too much, which is why I can completely understand why people won't like it, not just in Scotland but also in Northern Ireland and Wales.
It's like a family which consist of four kids and one of the kids just can't stop talking about how great they think they are. The other three kids will understandably get sick and tired of hearing that kid say all that along with saying the same old tired lines they've been saying for years.

I can see why the three nations would get irritated by England's actions but I can also see why England would want to celebrate its successes but overall, both sides of this whole thing are just as bad as each other as at the end of the day, it's only a game of football.
The problem is, Scotland watches British media not realising that they're catering to 90% of Britain, England. This is 2024, you have everything at your disposal to watch coverage of the game from any other source. You do this to yourselves
@@Adam-zh4hm When it comes to the World Cup and the Euros, only the BBC and ITV show coverage in the UK, so there's nowhere else to watch it (that's legal, anyway) and so the Scots/Welsh/Northern Irish have no real choice but to endure the media.
I've also never stated where I'm from, so I don't know why you're assuming I'm Scottish by saying "you do this to yourselves" along with choosing to focus solely on Scotland as when it comes to this topic, not everyone that points these things out (along with other things) is Scottish as this is more than just a Scotland/England thing.

England only got as far as they did because of luck. Lucking out in the group stage, they were on the easier side of the knockout draws, on average poor performance though. Spain are definitely more skillful.

not until first half only v Holland and were very fortunate they had an inept ref in their semi final v the Dutch
as it was not a penalty for England ..I mean is a defender not allowed to challenge for the ball this to defend the ball
as things were , its seems not with the ref in charge in that that game as then the rules should be changed in that no defender is allowed to challenge for the ball , this within his own box as thats the way it seems to be with that inept ref in that match
as no way it was a penalty .and that decision aided in changing the game in Englands favour .

I always grew up supporting the home nations. My favourite player of all time in my team Coventry City was Scottish Tommy Hutchison. Don’t get the hatred. Most England fans don’t buy into the 1966 nonsense. We’ve won nothing since then.
For most it's not hatred, it's purely rivalry. Terry Butcher once said he'd never support Scotland and wouldn't expect any Scot to support England.

I am from England but i agree with you. I really hope England wins the euros but as you said spain have been the best team in the tournament its going to be hard for England. Im also a Barcelona supporter so i have respect for spain and also Scotland 2 Beautiful countries
The main difference between the Scotland team and England , is that we ( Scotland ) know our limitations , and go out there and enjoy ourselves and try our best . Where as England via the hype climb up to the top of the flag pole , then fall off and wonder why .
I fancied Spain from the start, and I've got them in the works sweep, so fingers crossed for Spain.
It appeared as if the whole tournament was fixed. With england, just look at the penalty incident against the Netherlands with an open mind: 1/ Kane shot and he got his shot away (goalkeeper grabbed the ball). How many times have we seen that sort of thing where there may be a foul on the striker but the ref. plays advantage because he managed to get his shot away, many times (but not this time). 2/ From some angles it looked like both players went for the ball and there was no foul, but it became quite obvious, as we saw more camera angles, that the defender's block was spot on (in terms of not being a foul) and that Kane's follow through actually kicked the defender on the bottom of his foot. So why was it a penalty? 3/ Given that the ref. didn't initially give a foul, and as we're told, continually, VAR will only be used in the case of 'a clear and obvious error', why was VAR involved at all? 4/ If VAR was involved, why didn't they flag up the handball by the English player in the seconds before the Kane incident as this makes the Kane incident irrelevant? ... and we're expected to confidence in those running football when we can all see these obvious reasons why there should have been no penalty? Harry Kane is of course one of the worst. He must have known that it wasn't a foul ... did he speak up? And Lee Dixon (commentating) admitted it wasn't a foul/penalty but said you take if you're given it. Isn't that cheating? The same as all the cheating/pretending to be hurt that he usually condemns when commentating (the message being it's okay to cheat if it's england. Let's get away from england for a minute. There were many of these sorts of decisions, during various matches (not just england games), it seemed, as a neutral, that these decisions were made to assist the bigger and more fancied nations get to the latter stages of the competition. Why was that? Does UEFA get more television revenue if countries with more following get through ... or not? I don't know but I'm struggling to find reasons for the obvious bias in some games. It kills the whole spectacle and enjoyment of the tournament if you're watching a match and it gradually becomes obvious that one side (usually a powerful footballing nation) is getting constant undue favours from the referee, especially when, as a neutral, you see a heroic effort by a small nation thwarted by a ridiculous refereeing decision (to award a dubious free-kick or penalty to a major nation or ignore obvious claims from a minor nation). This sort of thing happened too often in this tournament and involved a number of games involving the more fancied nations.

I see you've bought into the narrative that 'England are terrible yet somehow in the final', when objectively that cannot be true, terrible teams don't usually win their groups, they lose 5-0 in the first game and go home after a week. When you look back on the competition you'll see the goals from Saka, Bellingham and Watkins and realise that actually, they were all excellent goals and none of this was a fluke. Did England get battered by anyone? Did anyone create a stack of chances and somehow not score any of them? Not that I recall.

One conspiracy theory is that in his career as a full he hated wingers and their dribbling past him so he did his best to eliminate them from the game. Being successful in winning the World Cup his example was followed by others. Flair players were reduced in number. England were in the 1970 World Finals as holders I think, but failed to qualify for in 1974 and 1978.
I think counts as damaging English football, in parallel the Dutch were playing Total Football emulating the Magical Magyars of 1950s.
Ramsay wasn't alone there was also Helenio Herrera who took negative football to the stratosphere.

I think what alot of people dont think about with england is the style of play, when we play teams that match us we look terribly boring which has been exactly what happened. Most teams in the first half of the tournament have sat deep which has made us look terrible. But our style of play is to counter attacking teams which has showed very well against switzerland and netherlands. Spain might need to be careful with their tactics becuase i have a feeling they are playing exactly how southgate wants them too. super attacking play which is going to leave so many pockets open for the likes of bellingham and foden and potentially kane if he isnt forced to come deep. Spain has looked good we can agree but england plays prime against attacking teams.
Well they have for the last 150 years thought they were the best in the world they didnt take part in the first 3 world cups or first 2 European Championships for this fact.

We must remember that in Scotland the only time we see our national team on mainstream TV is if they're playing England! We get every England qualifying game but our ties are only on pay for view. Also we still hear from UK media about 1966, we can well do without another cup to be endlessly bragged over.

I don't know what TV or radio channels you were listening to but Scotland especially with their pathetic results were getting disportionate amount of coverage and Englands eventhough they won the group was all thoroughly negative. Now England have to compete with the BBC wall to wall coverage of bloody Wimbledon which is a niche sport in this country compared to football. At the end of the day you lot won't accept if England win, you still go on about a ball not being over the line eventhough we won 4-2 and the German equalizer involved a blatant handball and would have been ruled out today by VAR!

9:36 I’m sorry to comment twice since I think it’s rude but if I had to predict tomorrow’s match. I actually think England are going to win. Call it a gut feeling. I think Southgate has been playing what I call grinding football where he focuses on England grinding down their opponents and only doing enough to win. My dad calls it park the bus football and it’s a boring/bad looking football playing style but England seem to playing by the numbers more. Don’t get me wrong it’s still like watching paint dry while having my finger nails removed one by one but I think it’s tactically good. I’m going to say that the game will go to extra time but England will score in both halves of extra time making the final score either 3-1 or 2-0 to England
9:57 a comparable achievement? I’d say Scotland making it out the groups because let’s take baby steps for right now. I think Scotland will have another chance and maybe we just need to focus on gradual improvement rather than shooting for the stars. Aim for improving with each competition we get into.
I'm English and I know on form alone we shouldn't stand a chance but I think we'll win. I like the fact we are going in as underdogs and think our players can dig in for a result.

I have subscribed to your channel since I saw a video of you wandering around outside Firhill talking about Partick Thistle. However, this was the least good of all of your videos. I don't get why you think hanging around Hampden, when there is no game on, would get you typical football fans. It's just locals walking their dogs. You should have gone to Firhill to get a true representation of what Scottish fans think. I am a Rangers fan but the lad saying he doesn't support Scotland is in no way typical - though he certainly lives up to a stereotype. Maybe he was saying what he thinks is cool. I was in Germany and attended the games and, honestly, the club fans I met most were, in fact, Rangers fans. I do get the point being made by non old Firm fans about how it feels to support another club in Scotland. Media are awful in both Scotland and England.

Rangers is a strange one as a decent amount of Scottish rangers fans have followed England since the 80s originally for the fighting but today that’s just who they follow mix of family and a bit of the sectarian divide

In fact it’s very much the opposite . It’s a stereotypical view based on a minority of Rangers fans . Because alot of Rangers fans still want to be part of UK you automatically think that makes them support England , when in reality and historically Rangers fans were the majority of the Scottish support for a long time …

If we have to be honest with ourselves, England has not played well throughout the tournament and considering they had the easy group they still underperformed so if they were to win it will be purely based on luck and not on meritocracy!! Spain definitely deserve to win!!!!
