Neither, they should be using an LGP dozer with mud growsers on it. The wider triangular tracks spreads the weight of the machine, they’re specifically designed for use in mud or sand.

You don't need the engine running to freewheel the tracks, removing the axles is a lot better, just have to dig out the mud
I think you just pull the cover and reverse it to freewheel. What ever though they should know how the make it free wheel and this video would only been 1/2 hr long.

The tracks are caked with clay they are not even rolling to ade the moving. They are dragging dead weight. Clean out the tracs then start towing.
That’s ok just a little bit of soap. It should be OK.

The guy who managed to get stuck wasted his time plus a dozen others. He also wasted the capacity of his machine plus 2 others during the rescue operation.

This was like watching paint dry. There wasn't enough pull for dragging the dozer with locked up tracks out of the mud. They needed a 3rd dozer so they could have pulled with the stuck dozer with 2 dozer.

Lolol all they need to do was.bull doze the angle down which they didnt do till the end and use 2 dozers in a straight line to tow with the back hoe in the rear keeping the bucket to help push. U cannot hook 2 machines side by side with 2 lines pulling on 45* angles. Ur loosing energy and force. If I was there I'd be screaming at them.

Why didn't they just start the dozer and drive it out. They could have sent their mechanic in to repair anything that was wrong with it got it running again and simply drove it out.

NO NEED BANANA AND OTHER DRINK. YOU NEED A EXPERIENCE GENERAL MANAGER.

American ingenuity would have gotten the dozier out in under one hour.
American ingenuity wouldn't have let this happen to start with. When you're placing "bridge lifts" of dirt/sand, if you put it in too thin you're going down!!!!!
I've seen plenty of videos where we get equipment stuck in mud worse than this case. I am sure they tried to start the stuck dozer and that they tried to get it out of gear. My only question is why you would not use longer cables so that the equipment pulling does not have to also pull itself up hill.

I watched this for 1:30 and they had another Shantui and an orange frontloader running around right by these two trying to pull this out. With those other two helping this would have been out in 15 minutes.

They could have hooked 4-6 loaded dump trucks to it and got it out quickly also....
Once it got clear of the mud pit, I wonder why they didn't get a mechanic to free up the tracks so they could roll.

All that time digging and displacing the water was for naught. The water table and the height of the water in the rice paddies allowed the water to come in as fast as he was trying to remove it
