Great video and great microphone. I had to take off the extra trim like he showed because there was some padding in the gap but the instructions are dead on. I bought their microphone and replaced the one that came with my deck and my wife says the sound is so much better when I call her. She can here me more clearly and doesn't here the car or road noise. Thanks again guys.
Thanks this was Really Helpful. Added Tip, On the Step where you have to thread the mic cable through the top of the glove compartment. Grab a pipe cleaner wrap it around the end of the mic cable then curve into 1/2 moon shape and push the pipe cleaner through. Grab with the other hand. Makes that 1 difficult step very easy. Again thanks. I did this install today working great.
Thank you!! Thank you!! I've been trying to figure out how to get that microphone cable through the headliner. You have helped me so much on this. Really really appreciate it very much!!!
What if I already have the OEM microphone because my car has bluetooth built in. Do I still need to replace the microphone to fit the aftermarket stereo ?
+peter sachs Because of the housing it does sound better than most mics that come with aftermarket radios. This mic is not compatible with a VW factory system.
At about 2:30 into the video he says "With Pioneer radios you need a converter." What is that? Is it because the plug is a different size (3.5mm vs 2.5mm)?
+congapraise We could make it connect at the bluetooth module under the seat and make a connector at the top but then it would be a $50-$70 mic and noone would buy it.
+Enfig maybe if you guys can make a video of this factory mic in someone's install? Also I am looking to purchase an AppRadio 4 from Pioneer for my 2008 VW Jetta, want to pretty have steering wheel control, mic working. What would I need to purchase from your site for this install?

Seriously??..All that just to show how to run a microphone wire!!!..what a waste of 15 mins!!!..show the installation too next time!!!.. what a crime!!

Thank you very much!!!!! that is really the only video which shows, how to run a mic in a golf V :)
Very good video. Always better than looking at a bunch of stills.

You're welcome! If you have feedback issues our mic cuts back on that.
thanks man for the great video. makes me want to go ahead and do it myself.
Thanks very helpfull!
Excellent tutorial! Planning to do it myself and question is do I have to disconnect battery when touching airbag?
+DraganGTD We never do but disconnecting the battery is always safer.
What if I already have the OEM microphone because my car has bluetooth built in. Do I still need to replace the microphone to fit the aftermarket stereo ?
They are different resistances. Even if you splice into it the sound quality would be not as good.
Do you have to disconnect the battery when removing the door pillar?
+toptrumpz We never do but disconnecting the battery is always safer.
Does the aftermarket microphone sound clearer that the original because I get complaints all the time.

+Alex Glanville Correct. When you checkout on out site. It asks you if you want it.
Awesome, thanks!
So you would still have to do this with the Enfig MIC-VW1? There is no wiring the Enfig MIC-VW1 can connect to thats already in the OEM compartment?
+congapraise We could make it connect at the bluetooth module under the seat and make a connector at the top but then it would be a $50-$70 mic and noone would buy it.

+congapraise It would be harder to do all that than it would be to run the mic and it would take 3 times as long.
