I always cry with this song, Nírnaeth Arnoediad really is just that emotional when you read it in the Silmarillion. The end of true elven resistance to Morgoth.
if blind guardian would have a little more publicity, they would be known all over the world!! that's what I like about them, they don't care about being famous, they only care about the music!! All hail the Bards. All hail their music.
3:47 - 4:08 contains some of the best, most emotional pieces of music I have ever heard. Yeah, I know this sounds kind of gay, but to hell with that - this part is like all the rage, anger, grief, pain, sorrow and despair put into a small verse. There's a reason Blind Guardian are considered the best power metal band (or at least one of the finest bands in the genre).
slowly marching on still we're marching on slowly marching on still we're marching on slowly marching on still we're marching on slowly marching on still we're marching on slowly marching on still we're marching on slowly marching on still we're marching on slowly marching on still we're marching on slowly marching on...
I dont know, but I, like a big fan of the bards prefer to they to remain so, a low profile, you feel better and more fortunate to see the jewels they produce :), after all we are fortunate to be able to value his great compositions
@gifdetected they the golden exception, they like the only band to sell so many millions of albums with no publicity, also they big in america as they gave birth to prog metal and respect needs to be payed for that, same with black sabbath
@gazbg123: who doesn't? everybody who doesn't has hearing problems loves this song!! (except the bieber-fans or crazy people) :D All hail the Bards. All hail their music.
no se pero yo como gran fan de los bardos prefiero que se mantengan asi, con bajo perfil, uno se siente mejor y mas afortunado de apreciar las joyas que producen :), despues de todos somos los afortunados de saber valorar sus grandes composiciones
@420dimebag haha that is true. they have 3 drummers. 2 of them hit garbage cans and random metal cages and shit. jordison does get some respect from me. he is ok at drums
Why are we even discussing Slipknot on this video? The only decent album was Vol 3. Blind Guardian doesn't even have a decent album... they're all GREAT!
@zeppelin88ab I saw him play with Satyricon, he was awful. Couldn't keep up and he got sent home like 2 shows after the one I saw. I mean he's ok but he'd have to be near the bottom of a list of best drummers.
@zeppelin88ab That could actually be the nicest thing you could ever say about slipknot. They are without a doubt the biggest pile of shit band. Hey look at us we've got 9 people in our band...Some guys just run around hitting a trash can others do even less.
The way they end it off is just brilliant. So chilling and dark, Morgoth himself would have loved it.
He didn't make it so he'd hate it.

Greatest song by the band as a whole.
One of the greatest metal albums ever crafted.
Easily one of the best songs of this album. Along with Nightfall, Time Stands Still and The Curse Of Feanor. And most of the album as well ;)
back in 1998 they did this album ... it changed my life
Nominated to best metal album ever....
This is the absolutely most amazing song of Guardian !
MY FAVORITE SONG IN THE ALBUM
Who wants folk Metal or viking Metal when it existed much better examples even decades ago? Blind Guardian wins the match!
We shall not rest until all will be thine!!! Oh, Hell yeah!!!
BLIND GUARDIAN ROCKS!!!!!!!!
All Hail the Bards. All hail their music.

+MrDrunb What's come after it is even better. Best part of entire album - Melkor solo !
It's a close second to Feanor's "I will share in your damned fate" IMO, but yeah, amazing piece of musical pomp.
I do not understand why their songs were not the soundtrack to Lord of the Rings.
same
This song really kicks some ass :)
elected to best metal album ever haha
slowly marching on still we're marching on slowly marching on still we're marching on slowly marching on still we're marching on slowly marching on still we're marching on slowly marching on still we're marching on slowly marching on still we're marching on slowly marching on still we're marching on slowly marching on...
let me become fucken deaf, if its not on the top volume its not worth
hadnt listen to this for at least 5 years, this is epic!!
With my eyes you'll see, with my ears you'll hear...
Have they ever done this song live?best song on album IMO
Now allied the elves and man... But in the end Feanor was right saying to Valars "And finally You'll follow me!"
i cant find live version of that and if they never played it before in that moment i HATE THEM! BEST SONG EVER
@jappieman12345 I don't know if they care about being famous or not, but their music is top notch and it grabs my very soul.
I dont know, but I, like a big fan of the bards prefer to they to remain so, a low profile, you feel better and more fortunate to see the jewels they produce :), after all we are fortunate to be able to value his great compositions
@SednaOfAnterra
Yes, the timpani are very good.
It's funny, this song actually sounds a bit like a musical act (think Phantom of the Opera and the like). And not that's it a bad thing...
@Atremious they also huge in japan
Ah okay I thought it was talking about line , like an army's battle line.
Nightfall in Middle Earth - FLAWLESS.
@Lamporre "Morgoth himself would have loved it."? I mean, come on, man.
@gifdetected they the golden exception, they like the only band to sell so many millions of albums with no publicity, also they big in america as they gave birth to prog metal and respect needs to be payed for that, same with black sabbath

I thought they are already known all over the world? :p
@gazbg123: who doesn't? everybody who doesn't has hearing problems loves this song!! (except the bieber-fans or crazy people) :D
All hail the Bards. All hail their music.
The latest two albums are decently crafted, but they pale in comparison to these earlier, more inspired albums.
Sabbath is proof that metal will never die....but it sure can get rusty :)
@jappieman12345 All you have to do is spread the word ;)
That's why i love them so much :D
@poopmaster13
emphasys on *crafted*!
