Excellent video just something great about the old diesels especially the class 37 or maybe just nostalgia. I remember my first trainset was a lima class 37 car transporter set with the old blue and grey br coach. The class 37 scared me back then it was a beast menacing looking.
@ 4:04 ........there's a line of electric locos with what looks like a Class 37, but certainly some type of diesel loco at the top with the engine running................would that diesel loco have hauled those electric locos there? And for what purpose? Is this facility a repair/maintenance depot or a scrap yard? Also, @ 4:18 ................... those locos look like they've been out in the elements, unused and unwashed for a long time. Are they awaiting scrapping per chance? And regarding the Class 37, what gives with the longevity of this loco? 50 years+ at this stage? Why is it that the 37s are still going strong when contemporary locos are gone decades ago? What makes this loco so resilient? And speaking of 37s............ @ 10:52 there are two 37s side by side..........but they look very different to me, cosmetically. As in the nose/lights etc etc. Thoughts anyone?
Thx for watching, this depot is a repair / maintenance depot and all theses locos out in the elements 4:18 (class 56s) are stored there awaiting to be done up and are owned privately as is the class 58, as for the electric class 86s , they were bought by a firm abroad and that's where they went
I see 58016 is there we had two 56s at nene from there ? I wish they would let people go inside and take pics on a weekend or something what are they going to do with alk that stuff
Thx for viewing , the 86s are going abroad except the green one (using for spares) and the 58 & 56 apparently are all owned by one person and are so say being done up ..
It's was filmed from the road bridge just at the end of the platform and the side view was filmed from an access road to the left of the bridge (down the bottom of some steps)
They habe 86 Electrics there ? They should keep them in operational order, they might use them for cargo traffic after the hard brexit....may help to save diesel fuel....
Thanks for filming this.I have lived in Australia for 12 years now and would love to have sat their all day.i miss this.(Paradise)!....,

The last one likes to burn a bit of oil! Nice video 🙂
Love the old locos in this region especially. Anyone got any tips for best access to location?
hi mate enjoyed watching your video of Leicester depot, except at the end the class 37 & 56 hid behind the train. But I think it is very good
Thanks for a great video. Do you know if the 58 is running or being restored?
Love the exhaust plume at the back. 😳
Very well done indeed. Cheers

Where is the vantage point for this view?
It's was filmed from the road bridge just at the end of the platform and the side view was filmed from an access road to the left of the bridge (down the bottom of some steps)

The class 86s had been sold to a company in Bulgaria and were awaiting movement abroard.
well done class 222😠
The depot is run by DB Schenker....
The depot is operated by UK Rail Leasing. It is also used by the Rail Operations Group and Europhoenix. These are all spot hire locomotive companies.
13:10 screenshot this, print it out and send it to greenpeace so they can hang it up in their foyer
Lol, I'm sure they will love it
So environmentally unfriendly
