This helps me out a lot. I am going to try to be Braveheart this weekend.
Awesome, glad we could help. Just make sure to take your time and be patient.
Thank you for this. It's a PIA job but you did a wonderful, humorous take on how to tackle it.
Thank you very much, glad you were entertained and assisted at the same time.
Fixed heat on my Jetta 2001. Thank you. Nice tutorial
Your very welcome, I’m glad this helped.
😂😂😂I like the tape job 👍🏿
It works well
Just a quick word of advice for anyone attempting this job.
Start the video at 17:35 then after that, watch the whole video from the beginning to end, then decide if it is worth while doing this horrible horrible job.
Also thanks for the video bud, it was very helpful in terms of showing me where these stupid plastic clips are.
Also, I wish I never started this horrendous ordeal.
It may suck, but it saves you 2500
This man is great and funny!👍👍
Thank you very much, glad you enjoy
I'm in the middle of this job now. It's a pain but it's doable. I doubt any service center would do this. They would replace the box and it would cost a fortune.
Oh absolutely, because it’s cost about the same in labor, and then they can charge a 50% markup on parts
Thank You very much. 👍
Glad we could help
You go for it boo boo 🤣🤣🤘🤘
Good video i have same problem in my jetta
I hope this helps you out
Thank you Wrench Heads! My 2005 Jetta has this same problem & the dealer told me I have to replace the whole hvac box and the heater core. Will my a/c blow cold again if I seal the blend doors or do I really have to change the whole hvac box?
They are saying to replace the whole box because it’s easier and more profit for them. As long as your A/C system is charged and isn’t damaged then yes, this method will allow for the cool air to flow once again. 👍🏽
@@WrenchHeadsTuning Awesome thanks a lot
Not a problem, happy to help
Pro tip: do not use regular duct tape, it will lose it's adhesive properties within 1-3 years due to the harsh environment that it's in (hot/cold), meaning you will have to do this again. Use heat resistant aluminium tape.
I know 😞, I couldn’t find the proper tape and needed to get it fixed for the winter. So I just went with the best option at the time.
i should bring my vr6 to you !
Do you have the dreaded foam blow out when you turn in your heat?
@@WrenchHeadsTuning Yeah man ! same stuff foam flying out. VR6 115K miles, 2002
If you are up for the challenge it’s definitely something worth trying especially if you can make the time. It took me about 2 hrs. I just strongly advise that you take pictures of where things come from before you get too deep.
I go it bro
Same golf 4 i didn t take off anyting, i have same problem but i hear clicking in my dashboard while driving and when is cold outside when i hear "click" and temp is on 90 then i got half warm air, and in summer same problem ac working but when i hear "click" then i have warm air and my ac don t working
Yea, it’s pretty annoying and confusing when it first happened.
Yes you’ll need to do the same as I did it take it too someone who you trust. It’s not very tough just time consuming it only took me about 1:30 without recording.
Did this improved air flow?
Immediately, heat and cool air started worked and flowing as should.
Hello, does this work with Climatronic too? Is it the same "clima box"?
What year is your Audi? The overall process should still remain the same but the location could differ. It really depends on your set up based on your year.
Mine is a 2002 VW GOLF 4 1.9 TDI
Oh yea then it should definitely be the same setup 😊 👍🏽
My doubt was that you have manual clima control, i have automatic Climatronic control, wish is the same "box"
It still functions the same though, the controls wouldn’t dictate the layout of the air box.
If the radio is stock tou don't need to take it out right?
Either way you’ll need to remove the radio in order to access the blend doors
@@WrenchHeadsTuning dang, I don't have the keys to remove the radio. Is there another way?
If you have an oem radio, it should just be screwed in and then it slides out. If you’re trying to remove it with dismantling everything then you’ll need the keys to remove it
CZcams. Bring back dislike count please
i don’t think they ever took it down, I thought they made it an option for the creators to show or not.
@@WrenchHeadsTuning they really took it down
@@yod2189 I can see it listed if you can’t you should check your updates.
@@yod2189 it’s showing up on my end.
