I met Kool Keith when i was 12 on Melrose Ave. Los Angeles ,the year was 1999 he was standing outside a white drop top cutlass, rocking a zebra stripe kangol and a purple utah jazz jersey hollering at honeys. Me and my boy got autographs and kept it moving, much respect always!!!

DOOM is good, but he's no Kool Keith. Keith has demonstrated a wider vocabulary and he probably could rhyme like DOOM if he wanted to, but he's more interested in trying different styles and pushing boundaries.

First record by Kool Keith was Dr. Dooom - First Come First Served. That album immediately made me want to find more Kool Keith, and after that I was hooked. My favorite rapper since 2007. Oh and the new album is amazing. The beats are simplistic to a point, but the lyrics are above and beyond.

When you look at the history of rap and see how unbelievably easy it is for huge, huge rappers to slide into obscurity almost over night and then you relate that to what Keith has done and for how long he has done it? I don't think anyone can argue that he is the greatest of all-time.

Kool Keith is hands down the most replicated MC in the history of HipHop. Listen to his early stuff and listen to current MC in the game today and you can hear the influence. He is absolutely right about sounding different back in the day. His talent and eccentric personality can not be matched but always imitated.
That has to be one of the best freestyles I've seen someone be put on the spot to do. That could be cut right on a record room floor and top 10 hit no shit.
