Nice Job!
Currently doing the same thing with the same unit.....two questions.
I've tried so many different products....how did you get the boiler so shiny...without scratching jt?
What was your paint process /type of paint, primer clearcoat? I'm thinking of maybe vinyl wrapping to avoid the paint...
To be honest, it just came out that way after soaking it in some acid for a while - I have heard of people polishing it with a dremel or something, but I was lucky enough not to have to do that. I made a very mild acid solution with Sulphamic Acid (not the same as Sulphuric Acid). I am pretty sure you can use any food grade acid and it should sort you out. I know people have used citric, but I couldn't tell you if that's better or worse.
For the paint, I just took it to a car painter and he gave me a sweet deal. In hind sight, car paint is probably not durable enough for a busy cafe setting - it chips quite easily. I would probably try to powder coat it if it was a really nice machine, or just wrap it like you suggested because at least wrapping can be done over and over again if it gets scratched or you want a change of colour.
@@timmilatte yea I soaked in citric acid.....also tried oxidation remover...it looks OK...but not as shiny as yours. Yea a lot of forgiveness with the 3m wrap. Just depends how hot the outside gets.....could be an issue. I appreciate the fast response
@@boneyloc Sorry man, CZcams didn't notify me about your second message. I think my boiler might have been chrome plated on the outside. It's been a long time so I can't remember, but in the video if you look closely then you can see it's not as shiny in the holes of the boiler where the pipes are supposed to go.
Do you have any pictures of the heating element you can send me? I took apart a 2 group I bought real cheap to clean it up and sell. It's my first time working on a machine and I forgot to take pictures before I started. I undid all the wires for the heating element and can't figure out how they go back. Thanks a ton for your help!
Tyler hey Tyler, was good to chat with you. I hope your machine gets finished and you can pour some sweet, sweet shots :-D
Where did you get parts?
Keaton Row it was a bit of a challenge finding parts because Brasilia went into liquidation in 2012 so you will have to get creative. You might be able to find some of the parts through online stores, but I usually went to specialists for whatever part I needed. For things like solenoid valves I just went to a place that specialised in solenoid valves, and for issues with pipes etc I either used regular pressure sleeve that plumbers usually use, or I went to someone who could make up custom pipes for me with that special end brazed on for me. Is there a part that you’re having trouble with in particular?
I have a question about this machine if you're able to answer!
Ashley Delplanche I’ll do my best, what’s your question?
@@timmilatte i have this same machine. Do I need an external water pump for the water supply or is the internal pump enough?
Ashley Delplanche I had this machine connected to a 30metre (100foot?) hose and the internal pump was still powerful enough that I had no problems. I would recommend adding a water filter in somewhere along the line to stop calcium etc building up inside the machine :-)
Hi, can you please post this video on normal speed. Thx
Hi Cat, unfortunately I don't have the original video any more, but I might rebuilt another one and video the journey as I go :-)
@@timmilatte ok, thx:)
