Getting ill on the road is something you hope not to have to deal with, just like getting injured, I am lucky in that we are only day drivers on local work usually within 100 miles. So any problems can be sorted easier with another driver in necessary. When you leave your camera out to film a long shot I am usually telling you don't forget to pick that camera up Will. Looked like that garden centre will soon become a housing site what with the new houses all around. All the best and say Hi to REG for me.

In Australia on the east coast a lot of the time it's easier to just send another driver but it really depends on the industry. There's a couple of companies that specialise in organising rapid response for mechanical repairs or driver illness between the major cities. The thing is though all of these are day trips, so it's probably quicker to just drive the drop-off and call it in.

an agency driver could meet the truck driver at the truck within half an hour and it would be cheaper for company to either send a person in a car to bring the driver home or hire a car for the driver which might be cheaper etc
but as i was an agency driver for 8 years or so i once got sent to meet the driver at a hospital to get in drivers truck and drive the truck for half the day because the driver was ok but couldnt drive the truck so driver told me how to get to deliveries and i drove there etc and we completed the day ok etc

Which truck do you prefer the rigid daf CF with hiab or your current truck or the Volvo FH 500 hiab truck?

The yellow Volvo FH 540 hiab we have by a long shot, but I prefer the work on my truck
