The Dartford Tunnel is not part of the M25

- The Dartford Tunnels and QE II Bridge are not part of the M25 - they're actually part of the A282 which means that the M25 is not a fully orbital motorway!

Used to hate going underneath the River Thames whilst driving on the Dartford Crossing but loved crossing over the River Thames on the QEII Bridge.

I live in Surrey and as my parents have retired to Suffolk, I am now sadly all too familiar with the tribulations of the dartford crossing!
Because of this gap in the M25, it is not a full orbital motorway. That title belongs to the Mancunian M60.

Does not being a motorway mean that bicycles and pedestrians are allowed in the tunnel?
Pedestrians are prohibited, but there is a free service for bicycles that allows them to be put on the back of a vehicle and driven across.
It doesn’t mean that you just sit on a bike on a trailer as after the tunnel you come back on the motorway
@@Toxicpen456 the cycle bus stops at Kent marshalling area, picks up the cyclists then takes them to Essex point at the start of the QE2 bridge, there’s a cycle path that runs from London road to J31.

so is the a282 a road right and the m25 and dartfood crossing is in the m25/a282 im confused
The A282 is an All Purpose Trunk road and was there before the tunnels were built, there’s a lot of farm vehicles that use the tunnels and bridge so it’s easier to keep the A road status. When the M25 was being built it was easier to to join the A282.
Dartford Tunnel was one of the Harry Potter locations. Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part 1.
Get rid of the tolls! They got rid of them over the Severn crossings.
Should have kept the tolls into the tunnels, just added contactless payment and let vans use the auto booths.

M60 well maybe not junction 18
+king cutie M60 is still continuous motorway. The J18 roundabout is under motorway regulations.
And anticlockwise you don't even hit the roundabout

I don’t care I think it’s the M25
