- After nearly 70 years of discussions, Sweden and Denmark finally united literally with the Oresund Bridge, a gorgeous wonder that tunnels into the sea.

*Let's get some facts right:*
0:48 you're showing us the Norwegian and Swedish flags not the Danish.
1:23 there are absolutely no icebergs anywhere near that area
1:26 no the water is not *very* deep (only 42m or 131ft deep)
1:30 it had nothing to do with 2ww...
3:45 Kastrup is neither man-made nor an island. it's a suburb on an island named Amager (which partly isn't man-made either)
4:05 again. no icebergs/ice flows... It's a tunnel to prevent the planes from the biggest airport in Scandinavia to crash into the bridge towers.
4:33 actually Sweden committed stronger security measures between Denmark and Sweden. not Denmark
5:25 no. not Denmark... still Norway... try again
*According to my measures. You told us false information every 0,67 (or 0.67) minute in average*

Wiztra shit. But it woudn’t surprise me if it were every 0,67 seconds
It's a marvelous tunnel/bridge though. Well done.
But Denmark is still a fake country and Trump won't let you be second, he likes walls, not bridges.
Walls, like our Atlantic Ocean.
Therefore, Netherlands second :-)
But I am jealous of that bridge.........
This bridge is an absolute marvel. I’m a Canadian that has visited 3 times and each time I get excited to cross the passage, the last time driving a vehicle. To me this is the most extraordinary engineering feat that I can’t stop appreciating. Beautiful as with anything Scandinavian. 🇸🇪 🇩🇰
Nah, not for me.
We should do this in Canada, espescialy in the northern region, when we finally gonna develop the region and stop overpopulating big cities down south
You are always welcome in Scandinavia!! 😊
Everyone knows that the Danish and Swedish sound between the two countries is heavily infested with icebergs, ice-flows, ice-cream, and Norwegian flags!

My late husband and I did the ferry crossing Sweden-Denmark by car in the 80s. It would have been awesome, in particular for my husband who was an engineer, to use the Oresund bridge.
How hard Can it be to show the DANISH flag? Not the norwegian... dissapointed Dane over here🙄

Norway: Our flag

Emil Hansen how about we rename all countries after Disney movie kingdoms (give us Americans a chance at being passable at Geography!) Lets call all of Denmark, Norway, and even Greenland "Arendelle". Nation borders? Nah, We can just "let it go"! We can call the US "Usland" and hope we actually meet a talking bear that flies a cargo plane!

Virginia has had a bridge/tunnel
Like this for DECADES!
Quite eerie to drive so far out to sea and watch the road disappear.
Yea, this mind-blowing project had just begun when I was a student in Malmo in 1998. There used to be a sailing ferry which shuttled between Copenhagen and malmo and it was just scary watching the engineering feat going on as you sailed right by the construction lane. I was fortunate to watch this evolve right into commissioning. Scandinavia is an inspiring region to live in. Bravo🇺🇸🇺🇸
A great engineering feat for sure, but not the first. The Chesapeake Bay Bridge Tunnel was built in 1964 across the mouth of the Chesapeake Bay in the state of Virginia, USA. The bridge is 17.6 miles long and includes two tunnels which are about 130ft deep.
Hello
I feel lucky to travel across across this bridge all the way to Malmo .Oresund bridge is an amazing piece of engineering feat. Thanks for the video :)

Why do you show flags from Sweden and Norway when the bridge runs between Sweden and Denmark?
Anders Gether Sørensen Because the Norwegian flag looks better than the Danish, of course ....
The Norwegian flag is basically a Danish flag, added a little blue color.
Anders Gether Sørensen tell them that Dannebrog is the oldest flag in the world 🇩🇰
Pure ignorance
Known as the 'Dannebrog' or 'Danish cloth,' in Denmark, the the current design of a white Scandinavian cross on a red background was officially adopted in 1307 or earlier. The Flag of Denmark also holds the Guinness World Record for the oldest continuously used national flag.
It’s amazing how much you can get wrong in under six minutes. Just thought I’d let you know.

That to me is just amazing how people build things like this under water it's almost like magic to me .
Been there :) it was amazing to see how you go with the train underwater :)
This is a nice bridge/tunnel. It is a copy of the Chesapeake Bay Bridge Tunnel in Virginia, USA. Which contains 3 islands and two tunnels as well as the bridges connecting them all. There is also a smaller version called Hampton Roads Bridge Tunnel connecting Norfolk Virginia and Newport News Virginia. These have been here for many many years.
Don’t forget the MMMBT, connecting Newport News, VA and Suffolk, VA.
The Hampton Roads Bridge Tunnel has been around for about 60 years. It was an engineering marvel back then.
Love how they have a picture of Mormon missionaries in Provo, Utah (no earlier than the 1970s) holding up the Swedish and Norwegian flags while they're talking about Swedish and Danish government officials getting together to talk about building the bridge in 1930s.

It looks amazing. I know we have underwater tunnels in New York, but our tunnels don't have that look of disappearing into the water.
The water is not very deep where the bridge was built. The strait is deep in some areas, up to 50m deep, but its shallow where the bridge and tunnel is built, usually 5-8m deep except one small portion that is 12-14 deep to make it easier for large ships to pass through. When they built the bridge the very large crane boat (its shown at 2:06) couldnt even be in that shallow water. They had to dig trenches underwater for the boat.
Wow its so pretty respects to the persons who built this marvel.
A very important reason for the tunnel is the fact that the sea route on the Danish side is deeper than the one on the Swedish side. The sea route on the Swedish side goes under the cable staged bridge and in order to allow ship passage on the Danish side an even taller bridge would have been required. However the pylons for such a bridge would most likely have been over 200 m tall and to put such tall structures very close to the final approach to Copenhagen Airport's runways just would not have been safe. Therefore a tunnel, giving air traffic an unobstructed approach to the airport.
Per Björndahl .
@Vatsavai Venkata Satya mangapathi raju well, you would have to know of the airports proximity to the bridge, to even consider why a tunnel? and he did not know of that fact
I had a can of soup one time and there was a hat inside . I ate the soup and the hat . Two days later I wore the hat to school .

This is a beautiful bridge, and great engineering. Allowing ships, etc to still pass through the waterway. We also have 3 "bridge-tunnels" here in the Hampton Roads/757 area of Virginia, in the U.S.
