Flying WestJet's TRANSATLANTIC Business Class! 787-9 Dublin to Calgary

- In June last year, WestJet launched non-stop flights between Calgary, Alberta, and Dublin, Ireland, with their then-brand-new 787-9 Dreamliners!
On this flight, I had the privilege of being able to fly in their transatlantic Business Class. See what I thought of it in this new trip report!

Great review! Westjet has really improved their service and expansion in the past few years. Let's hope the airline survives the slumping sales from the pandemic.
But yet they have lost the "innocence" and fun spirit they used to have . I assume that is from the unionization of the employees, which will be the end of Westjet sooner than later. They think they now work for cupe and unifor not the customer. I there a more useless and disgusting group of people than those who run cupe?
Amazingly shot and narrated video Alex! I'm booked on their inaugural YVR - LGW at the end of April in business, but I don't think that's happening anymore. Great to see your take on it though, and sharing the sentiment of remaining optimistic!

Alex.. As always your video are great and this one is no exception. However for me personally the greatest part of the video was immediate departure from Dublin seeing that green countryside. Absolutely gorgeous. Thank you for showing.

I really enjoy the way you present your vlogs and I do enjoy the music you play at the end. Even though the food looked good, there didn't seem to be enough for Business Class as compared with other airlines! I would certainly give it a try though! Thanks for your hard work in showing us your traveling experiences!
Wow, a free upgrade to Business, good for you dude. That was a very entertaining vid, thanks for pointing out the features of this airline's business class. It is a definitely a smart choice to make for those long haul flights. One point I wish to make is that keep posting the vids if you have more. Yes the times are tough but looking at these provides some comfort (for me anyways) and gives us something to look forward to when all this hullaballoo will be over. You are providing a great service so if you have more material I'll be viewing it. Thanks for your efforts.

Thanks for another well produced video. I’ve got that exact trip booked for August. Keeping my fingers crossed that the pandemic will have died down by then, though I am not confident! I’m hoping that both WestJet and Air Canada have enough capital to survive this.

I’ve boarded a few wide body aircraft that way, but not for many years, we’re talking 747-200s and L1011s here, but it was always in a tropical location, like Tahiti or Barbados.
I have seen and heard only good reviews about WestJet. Their international Business Class looks quite comfortable. Many passengers have pointed out that one of the greatest assets of WestJet is their friendly and attentive crews. This is an obvious advantage when comparing their onboard service to Air Canada. All airline and tourism employees are in my thoughts at this time. Hopefully, the current situation will be over within a brief time and all of us can get back to business as normal. Thank you! Video is a smashing success. As, it appears, is WestJet's Business Class experience. I have seen reviews on their economy class international service as well. I had the pleasure of flying the inaugural flight of a 787 from LGW to YYC in April of 2019. Flew economy, but as far as economy goes, pretty decent. Also was WestJet.

I'm stuck in Calgary right now because flights to London are being cancelled and I've been exposed to the virus so obviously can't travel before the flights are cancelled from Monday, but no doubt things will get better and I'm in good company right now for being stuck in Canada, will just be glad to see the back of this virus and see the aviation industry get back to normal

Love the videos, thanks for uploading these. I thought that Westjet Calgary to Dublin had a stopover in Newfoundland? Would you recommend flying Westjet business class to England? I usually fly Air Canada into Heathrow but the last two trips were terrible; service, food and seat/tables were dirty.

For me it would come down to who has the best deal at the time in Premium Economy with WestJet /Air Canada/ British Airways and Air Transat before Air Canada swallows them up!!! :(:(:( Price is the big factor for me sadly...:(:(:(

You sure do a ton of flying, Alex! If you fly long enough, sooner or later, you're gonna end up with some HD footage of somebody getting num num'd by a jet engine...

I know this is an old video but you were flying out of the Ryanair pier at Dublin airport (Atleast that’s what I call it cause ive only seen Ryanair fly out of it), hence the lack of jet bridges
