As a vol 4 user, here is my personal review on the harden volume 4.
Positive:
• perfect fit for wide footed like me.
• Has an amazing grip for both in and outdoor court (not so much outdoors)
• Gives me an ability to do every move I can in indoor courts.
• stylish as f*ck.
Negative:
• It attracts dusts so badly outdoors, hence why it is not so much of a great shoe compared to the vol 3 when used outdoors.
• it takes quite long time to break it in compared to most basketball shoes.
• The elastic strip is the worst part on the shoes when new, because it’s a complete pain on the foot, although it provides better stability and helps prevent twisting ankles when ankle broken.
So is it worth it? Definitely, it’s cheap and it’s perfect for guards and small forwards. And the performance that the shoe can offer is way beyond most of the typical basketball shoe.
It's 65 usd now...
What about outdoor use?

Definitely feeling the on court performance review. The Nightwing studio is dope but seeing you on the floor while describing the shoe is dope, too.
Agree! But I understand why they don't do it often. They have kids and finding babysitters can be a pain.
That said, all the effort is much appreciated!!!

This has been my top shoe for 2019 and 2020. Just copped a new pair, I usually never cop two pairs of one shoe but I loved these way too much

Great review as always! Love the Mr. Rogers reference lol. I don't really check for the Harden line personally, but it sounds like this is a great addition to it and that the next model will be incredible if they keep everything that works here and just add some thicker Lightstrike.

It took a LONG time for me to break these in, I went true to size as well unlike the 3s were I went down a full size. And these definitely hurt my feet with how tight they were around the mid foot area where the strap is and it hurt the outside of my big toe for some reason as well. BUT when they FINALLY broke in they are hella comfortable and the cushion ended up being much better than I thought it would when I first got these. After suffering through the break in period I’m glad I did cause I love these shoes, they’re hella comfy once properly broken in. Also I got the red n blacks for $80 I’m seeing em for $60 some places now def worth that price.👍
I heard about experiments that people put a glass jar inside the shoe so that it stretches the sneaker. I don’t know how long it takes to do this with this pair of sneakers)

Fantastic format for this video, always love the on court stuff and the background to the testing process.
Sounds like a really good shoe, would be a good pick for most players, not a fan myself of the aesthetics unfortunately
The light-control n wood floor is visually helpful to visualise how traction compromise with its grip, on the other hand, the outdoor are fantastic as well, its just outdoor lightning is not ideal at many camera angles- too much with intense shadowing imo

Yes sir..this is very tight especially on the garter like area...but what i did was..i didnt put the lace on the last eye near the toe..and for me it eliminates the tightness a bit and made my feet comfortable
Of the mesh, and sock uppers, which do you think is more durable? And, do you think vol 4 is better than vol 3?
It seems like more players are opting in to the "broken in" feeling, combined with more court feel. I guess cushion isn't needed as much when you 6'8" and up coming from down from a dunk. It sounds like the shoe caters to a more shifty shooter's game.

You can put the sock darts insoles in they are incredibly thick and comfortable for some reason!! they break in after like 2 hours of basketball

You should try harden stepback since it has a bounce cushion
Take it from someone thats owned both solid outsole and translucent outsole versions of the shoe....the translucent outsole is what your want for traction. Youll be sliding if your go with a solid outsole colorway.

I'm debating whether to keep these shoes or not. The mid band section is pinching me as well. I'm worried with the natural swelling that happens when you do activity, if that'll make it worst. I'm a little bit glad to hear that they can be broken in, but still concerned.

I own a harden 4 and use it mainly to play indoors and its horrible shoe the traction is good but it's actually impossible to remove the bits of dust with your hands with a simple wipe down. It collects dust very quickly and I havent even used it for long and the dust it collects is extremely fast

Nikes are stiff on heels when running, are they soft when you landing or when ever you're running? I really like vol.4 and I havent used Adidas since the the heels made me hurt when running or landing cause of too soft and made me move to stiffer heels (Nike)

Great review! I've been really waiting for this review. I normally wait for your review before I buy my "shoe for the year" to ball in. Just a question though, I love the Harden 3s and they actually feel very kobe6/8-like for me. I have like 2 more deadstock pairs of the Harden 3s which I got for a discount because of how much I love Boost + the performance of the shoes. Is it worth it to buy the Harden 4s then?
boosted harden's are better imho. just played in vol. 4, low profiled and cushion is like 3/3+ of 5.
harden vol 1/2 is way better In cushion due to boost.
I got the harden 4 and honestly I'm disappointed the cushion wasn't bad and there was a lot of court feel but the traction was really bad. It picked up dust extremely fast and I was wiping constantly
