You speak wisely. The Duke is great in PVP. It's also good for the handful of heists where you're up against helicopters with missile launchers as the primary threat, like Convoy.

@@mrboyo9664 id probably go for the duke, it has a huge benefit of not being shot from the back, but side windows or front could get you killed. Npcs might have a more difficult time shooting you out of it and also it survives rpgs and homing

Karuma Driver: HA I’M ARMORED U CANT TOUCH THIS! *Dies in one explosion*
Well, the Armored Kuruma has bulletproof armor, not explosive armor. Duke O' Death is good against explosives but less effective against bullets (particularly with regards to the driver's seat). So on missions where enemies will use more explosives than firearms, Duke O' Death is better (I even had someone on an Opressor MK II fire a homing missile at me before, when I was just minding my own business, and the Duke just shrugged the hit off). On missions that mainly involve enemies with firearms, Armored Kuruma is better since it is almost 100% bulletproof, provides equal protection to everyone, and can carry an entire 4-person Heist crew.
Plus, since returning players can get the Duke O' Death for free, it's a moot point, since then you can pretty easily have both the Duke O' Death & the Armored Kuruma, and then just use whichever of the two is best suited to the job at hand.

I wouldn't agree with that.
The Duke can knock other cars around on the road like they're nothing, if a police car tries to ram you during a chase it'll just be smashed out of the way. The Kuruma on the other hand is much lighter and far easier to spin out. Effectively dealing with AI even on hard settings is generally a simple matter anyway, the Duke is more than up to the task against bullets as long as you position and duck where necessary. It's also worth noting that the windows on the Kuruma aren't actually stopping the bullets, the players behind them still get hit, they just take less damage. Considering the positioning we're talking about headshots when the bullets do hit, so in reality it doesn't make as big of a difference as you'd think. On missions where the enemies use explosives (there are a few, including helis using homing missiles) the Duke is by far the better car.
Objectively speaking the better all round vehicle is the Duke. It's a little more difficult to drive and can seat two fewer people, but they're literally the only real downsides.

When it all comes down to it, the Duke is better protection for starters against MK II trolls and such. It also makes the Kuruma look like a collectible in terms of sheer speed and handling. However the Kuruma is a lot better for chases (e.g: cops, nighsharks, etc). It is also a better choice for certain heists, while the Duke is decent for most missions/basic heists. All in all, I like the duke more because I tend to get into PvP quite a bit. ALSO: The Duke is better for ramming so it is also ideal for police chases as well.

Not necessarily. It actually changes according to the vehicle, but in general:
Grenades > Sticky Bombs > RPGs > Homing missiles (both from players and vehicles)
Also, vehicles can usually take more explosive damage when they have drivers in them than when they're by themselves.
And to top it off, there are vehicles with something called neutral armor, which take the same amount of RPGs and homing missiles to destroy (the Khanjali and the Rhino, for example). They're the minority though.
Oh, and vehicle explosions = 1 RPG, with the only exception I know being the Chernobog (and maybe the Rhino). It blows up in 1 RPG, but since it's very big and makes cars explode when it rams them, it was made to resist 5 vehicle explosions so that it wouldn't get destroyed too easily everytime you tried to drive it anywhere.

I remember when an insurgent pickup custom was going after me (presumably to up his KD) and I was easily capable of taking out both the gunner and the driver thanks to the armoured kuruma.

What i love about the Duke is that its got explosive-res armour BUT you can add more at the ls customs and make it even more tanky
It also looks like it weighs quite a bit more, despite being able to maintain equivalent speeds. Which would be great for ramming things out of the way and avoiding getting sent flying by something.
I'd still prefer the Kuruma. Completely bullet proof and so useful for missions.

Maybe im wrong but my conclussion is:
Kuruma when you play solo/pve, Duke for filled session/pvp
Wer auch immer diese subtitles gemacht hast ist ein king
Duke because:
1. Muscle Car
2. Less likely to flip
3. Battering ram
4. Actually has better handling if you know how to handle it.
5. The acceleration in the Kuruma is better but you rarely have to accelerate with the Duke if you know How to drive it. That shit can crash in to a tank and still maintain 60% of top speed if you know what you're doing.
The Kuruma is a flipping pinball for most drivers. The Duke is for people who know how to use their damn vehicle.

Matthew Burridge kinda late for this but I agree 100% I’ve thought about the karuma before a bunch of times but I didn’t. I saved up for the duke instead and I’m glad I did. Rockstars logic with armored cars is terrible but the duke is good for a lot of things. Start up a vip mission, either hostile takeover, sightseer or headhunter and you’ll complete it in maybe 7 mins or less. Not only that it can take a few rockets so your technically very safe in here

Pretty good analysis video, but a couple things were missed. First and foremost in my book is the ability to shoot behind you. You can in the Kuruma, the Duke not so much. The duke can pull the front end off the ground which can be handy for surpassing small barriers. One other consideration is that the Duke is rear wheel drive. For those who don't like driving cars with a sloppy rear end, this is a consideration... though after some upgrades, it does improve. Consider the weight of the Duke... it does better at ramming other cars on the road.

The duke o’ death is one of my favorite vehicles because it has saved my ass so many times, it’s extremely reliable, is fast, and it’s great for lower level players. I bought the car when I first started playing gta v, and it gave me great protection for and it helps lower level players to fight higher level players. It’s ability to withstand homing missiles is exceptional. It’s great defense against vehicles like the oppressor, deluxe, etc. (vehicles that can spam rockets), especially if you don’t want to pay for an insurgent. Also great for heists because it’s almost completely bulletproof, and it’s very hard for npcs to shoot you. I don’t understand why anyone thinks the karuma is better.
TC 2882 I agree 100%. I think they like the Karuma better because npcs can’t shoot you through the glass very well where as in the duke they can shoot you from the front. But I like the duke more because it’s great for missions. I’ve been able to do missions with it that I couldn’t do without that car. Also it’s good for missions with a lot of cops because of the bull bars it’s easy to ram vehicles out your way

If you want to have a 99% chance of not getting shot in either of them then press A to duck in your car. Then you can safely run over people. Not alot of people know this. It was in the story mode tutorial.
The other day I was minding my own business driving my new Scramjet and some salty 12y/o rushes to me to kill me in his Karin Kuruma but little did he know, instead of killing him with the build in rockets of the Scramjet, I instead pulled out my pistol with FMJ rounds and shot him out of his car! He thought I was a modder!

I remember how MrBossFTW says it's a good idea to get the armored kuruma. But clearly the duke o death is way better. Look at how many toreador griefers there are today. The "armored" kuruma doesn't stand a chance with getting blown up by one missile while it take more than one to blow up the duke o death. The only 2 good things about the kuruma is 4 doors and bullet proof glass that's it. I have the duke o death and it's saved me a lot.
Back during the ps3/360 days the Kuruma was basically the best car in the game. I remember a buddy and I going round griefing everyone in the lobby with a near invincible car. Of course it’s all fun and games till someone pulls out an rpg. The armoured kuruma is still my favourite due to the good memories of grinding out missions with a friend and doing heists with him. Took a long time to get but the pay off was worth it

EDIT: And why should I stop saying the Duke O'Death is better? It clearly is. Duke O'Death is faster, can take explosives, is just as good against NPCs as the Armored Kuruma, is always completely protected from the back, is FREE(for returning players), the passenger is really difficult to get shot from the front and it rams cars way better than the Armored Kuruma. I don't see your point right now. It's as if you're trying to get people to waste their money on the Armored Kuruma instead of the Duke O'Death and you don't want me to fight against someone using an Armored Kuruma. That's like saying "Wow, I killed you and now you killed me, you're a tryhard."
EDIT2: The last time I came across a person with an Armored Kuruma was a year ago. Nobody drives either of these around so who cares. The Nightshark is probably better than both of these anyway.

From what I have seen so far, The duke o' death is what you want for almost everything. I have used it against cops and it defended me as if it was nothing

The Duke O' Death got a serious armour upgrade in the after hours dlc. I really should buy it, one of the few weaponized/armoured vehicles I dont have yet.

Kuruma for AI missions and Duke for tryhard Oppressor abusers
I have an Oppressor MK2 and a Kuruma. Total Safety (not until someone tries to kill me or steals my supplies and i'm crazy for revenge).
I would pick the Kuruma even so it lack some features, But I’m mostly a solo player and never in need for a 4 door car so I went with the Duke.
The Nokia phone got me there 😂😂
As a GTA 5 Online player im feeling proud and happy after watch this video cause the Duke O Death is free and i got 6 of them in my garage, Well not bulletproof to the windown but can hold explosives longer than Armored Kuruma, It's worth it.
AND yes Duke O Death is perfect to survive in the server, So those Oppressor MK 2 players hard to kill us.
So basically kuruma is bulletproof and the duke is explosion proof... both cars cool tho
Definitely the Duke. My buddy and I have so much fun getting 5 stars within minutes and going for a long time without dying. Definitely a must have!
If u have the Duke for that then the kuruma would be way better since its bullet proof

Simple. If you own either but you're returning a player get the Duke O death it's free and it has explosive damage. But if you're not and you already own the Kuruma then there's no point in spending that money. Even though it's limited in some areas where the kuruma is not I prefer the Duke O Death.

sadisticCargo93 do you know how rapidly them oppressors can fire? Yeah a hella alot. You would get enough time to even step out the car without being messed up. They literally fire one after the other soo fast it’s nearly impossible to invade it
The Duke of Death is best for heavy missions. It can take a major beating and plow people out the way like an 18 wheeler.
After 3 years, i’ve noticed from singleplayer that the side protections blinds in the duke o death now protect the driver and occupant
