Yeah, I agree with you on all points. When I got my first ebike, and then several more after that, I was into fat tires, throttle, lots of power etc. Never thought I'd like an ebike that makes me pedal but since I got the T1 ST, I have not been riding any of my other ebikes. Like you've said, the lightness of this bike makes it so nimble and less of a hassle to take outside. Riding on something that looks like a moped gets a lot more unwanted attentions on some bike trails. Also, no range anxiety with this one because it doesn't weigh 80-100lbs and can easily be pedaled without any motor assist.
I used to be in the “e-bikes are cheating” club. So, this was a great first e-bike for me because there is basically no comprise on bicycle. Which also means no range anxiety. & funny. I actually ran into another e-biker the other day & rode alongside him for a bit. His 36V 500W fat tire e-bike couldn’t keep up with me. I actually had to turn my bike off so we could stay together. This bike has plenty of power for the weight. I find myself riding this bike all the time now. It’s my new daily rider. Truly a great product
@@anotherbikerider Yes, and you can just throw it on a regular trunk bike rack because it's light enough. I had a car where I couldn't easily install a hitch and having an 80lb bike mean that I can't just toss it o a regular bike rack. Riding this bike feels so smooth too
I wanted to buy one, but the orange in small is the only option available online, and Velotric indicated to me in an email it is not going to stock the bike anymore. Probably a month too late - dang!
@@anotherbikerider not sure yet. They ordered another controller I guess and waiting on that. Just a bummer when buying something new and immediate issues.
@AtortAerials I unfortunately had the exact same issue. It’s just annoying, I know. Repair was pretty easy though and I’ve had 0 problems since. Hopefully you get the same result
Can you do me a favor? I have the bike. I have found it is not possible to take an easy ride in gear #3 or less without the motor speeding up and causing you to ghost peddle. Once you lightly peddle the bike goes faster and faster and within about 50 yards you need to stop peddling and coast to slow down. So you have this repetitive peddle, then stop peddling, then peddle again. I reached out to Velotric and they said the torque sensor is single direction. Meaning it will go faster with more foot pressure. But it certainly will not go slower if you peddle slower. Can you test this on your bike? I want make sure it is not just a bug with my motor settings. I love the bike when I want to move 15mph or greater and get a workout. But his quirk makes it annoying on easy, lazy, sight seeing type bike rides when you just want to peddle light and go a consistent easy pace. Thanks.
@@anotherbikerider the assist is as low as it goes. Eco mode. Yes. if you stop peddling altogether it stops accelerating. The motor stops. But is that enjoyable? To stop and start peddling every 30 seconds? Peddling with less pressure does not slow the bike. it is a one way torque sensor. It only speeds up with more pressure. It does not slow down with less foot pressure.

My pedal assist on this bike stopped working within 2 weeks. Been a pain it’s still at the bike shop I bought it from!
Damn, I’m sorry to hear that. What was the problem they diagnosed it with? @velotricebike get this man right

@@anotherbikerider what did they do to resolve your issue?
@AtortAerials sent me a new controller. Just like you got. That was the issue

Turn the assist down
Turn the bike off completely
Or just pedal with less pressure
