- We will be working with all of the feet BERNINA has to offer. Todays first foot is the #1 Foot. This is the what I refer to as the universal foot. Most applications can be sewn with this Reverse Pattern foot.
Cody you're the best at explaining all the details about machines and accessories. You seem to anticipate my questions just as I am about to ask them in my head! I have made notes on various products you use and have also purchased additional feet and accessories from Bernina due to your tutoring as to how to use them. I have feet that came with my 780 and never ventured to use them till I saw your videos. Thanks for all you're doing to educate us!
fascinating. I can watch again and again even though your first explanation is clear. so entertaining. thank you so much
I love watching you. I learn so much. You talk slow and clear and make it so easy to understand. Thank you Cody.
Aww I love hearing that. Thank You. :) So happy I can help in any way.
Hello Cody , your channel has been extremely helpful to someone who is a beginner but has a Bernina 770. Of course I subscribe! Just wish you lived in the Chicago land area. Thank you for sharing your knowledge ❤🤩
Thank you! Just purchased the 790 plus and am suffering buyers remorse. The more info I gain, the more comfortable and excited I get. I’m so glad I found you!
Hi Cody, it’s going to be great going through the book while watching your videos. It’s always exciting waking up to find all this lovely new info that you posted overnight. Your doing such a fantastic job helping us get to know our machines so that we can get the full use out of them. Love your work 💜✂️🇦🇺
It's people like you is why I do what I do. Thank You for your sweet comments and excitement for videos to come. :)
Who knew number 1 foot could be so interesting! 😄Thank you!!
Haha exactly!!! :)
Love your work, Cody. It’s really nice the way that you taught not only the foot but also on some stitches and needles.
I am notorious for giving people way more information than they originally asked for. Haha I can get caught up in conversations about sewing easily. :)
Thank you
Cause like this I can learn on my new b 570 qe
Thanks again
I am so excited to discover you Bernina page. I have learned so much from your videos!!! Thank you, thank you!!!!!
Thank you!
I just got a b570qe. It’s so different from my Brother which I don’t even have to think anymore when sewing...Like which feet and how to get perfect seams. Your videos have been a life saver for me to get used to my Bernina! Thanks so much and subscribed ☺️
So happy you are enjoying the videos and that it is helping you learn your new awesome 570. Wonderful machine. If you have any questions I will be happy to help you. :)
Hello Cody, very comprehensive videos indeed. I want to ask you which needle setting with presser foot 1D or 1C will give me the best quarter inch seam please? And scant quarter too?
Many thanks in advance for your help.
Thanks Cody.. so informative!
Glad you enjoyed it! :)

Thank you. It will be fun, well I think it will be. :)
Thanks so much Cody for your videos on the Berninia I'm so excited to have discovered your detailed videos. I have the 570, but have been frustrated in knowing this machine has so much to offer, but don't know how to utilize it's full potential. I'm also excited to learn what each of the feet can do. Thanks so much!!
It is a big help and fun to watch the demonstration.
Thank you so much.
Wonderful so happy you are enjoying the videos. :)
Wow, your good, thank you 😊
Aww Thanks :) and you are welcome.
Cody, you are fabulous! Wish I lived closer.
Aww :) Thank You. I love what I do and enjoy sharing the love of BERNINA with other people!!
Love it! I have the big book of feet. But having you go through them in a tutorial is so helpful I'm really looking forward to you working through the book!
The big book of feet is AMAZING I've learned so much over the years with that book too. Yep I plan on going through the book foot by foot. :)
Wow! How exciting! I have a big stitch foot book that I purchased when i bought my Bernina 830 machine. I have never sewn through it though it though.
Can I use my “D” feet on my B480? (I have both a 480 and 880 and would like to use all my feet interchangeably). Your videos are awesome , thank you so much for sharing your Bernina knowledge😊
This was so helpful. So grateful for your videos. You are a great teacher.
One question; I received both the 1C and 1D foot with my 570. Do you have any tips for when/why to choose the 1C vs the 1D? Are there any circumstances where it’s better not to use the dual feed? Thanks.
Typically we always just end up using the 1D. We get this question a lot. The only time I can think of using the 1C over the 1D is if you are sewing with fabric that could potentially "run" like satin or silks so you may not want a semi "rough" dual feed coming in contact with that fabric. Other than that 1D all the way!! :)
Cody love your explanations. I’m not using my twin needle because I can’t successfully thread one thread on left side of divider and the second tread on the right side of divider. Do you have a tip ? Thanks Emily
Does my activa 230 accommodate a twin needle? Waving to you from Michigan
Great video Cody ... what is the word your calling the stitching with the wing foot? Can you spell it? I was trying to look it up but I must be spelling it all wrong. Thank you :)
Hi Cody - Thanks so much for teaching us how to use our Berninas. I have a 'how come' question: How come the clear reverse pattern #34 foot doesn't have a notch for the thread to slip through like the #1 does?
Good question!! So as you have probably noticed BERNINA doesn't like plastic feet, plastic feet are delicate and can easily break. So to help keep the feet strong and long lasting the decided not to put the little slit in the side because that would decrease the rigidity of the foot. :)
Where can you get the Big Book of Feet and how much does it cost? I recently got a 440QE and I don't have a Bernina dealer near me.
Hi Cody, can you tell me what foot I can use for quilting 1/4". Thanks for the video. The Activa 240 came with a 1,2,3,4 and 5 foot.
Hi, so sorry for the late reply. for your Active 240 you're going to want to be using either #37 or #57 both are 1/4" feet its just the #57 has the attached guide which is wonderful. They both have their pros and cons. :) In my option both are great to have on hand but if i could only have one it would probably be #37 its the most universal.
Hi, how can u purchase the foot book? Greetings from Namibia!
Cody -when you say 1 foot-is it the C or D?
helpful overall-thank you. Next time pls be sure the camera is focused on the area u are showing
My bernina is a 1230, so old. I’m having some trouble finding feet to fit that old model.
I’m thrilled to have found your channel though! I’m learning so much. Thank you!!!❤
Why is it called a “reverse” pattern ?
