- We don't get to fly IFR / IMC Often but when we do I love it and I love sharing this RAINY IFR FLIGHT with you.
Flying IFR / IMC is a must in Kentucky. Without an instrument rating it's impossible to get out and go. This IFR flight we experience SOLID IMC coming back from Asheville, NC. When we start the approach a light rain cell develops over a short final at the airport. We had not convective activity and winds were light. Popping out of the clouds on an IFR landing and seeing the runway directly in front of you is a great feeling!
Here is our flight.
*I am NOT an instructor / CFI and I make lots of mistakes. This is not flight training. This is my experience.*

We are kicking this off at 1130 AM Eastern TODAY. Hope to see you here!
Congratulations on 10 years. Thanks for sharing it with us.
In 2 months, my wife and I will celebrate 48.
Happy early anniversary Darrell. That's a great accomplishment.
Sean, thanks for the ride along! I think IFR is a great way to keep proficient! I like it a lot!
& it can be very rewarding! Don/NE Ohio :-)
Thanks Don. I appreciate it. Yes I agree. It's just something I do nearly every flight. Hope you are doing well!
Congratulations to you both! That mountainous area looked incredible!
Raul - it was beautiful. If you have never done Appalachian mountain flying - it's awesome.
Happy anniversary, excellent content on sids. Like that you stayed focussed, even with the auto pilot engaged. Some people trust the auto pilot too much, it must always be monitored when active. Nice approach in moderate rain, well handled. Blue skies.
I have had that thing fail on me before and I never trust it fully. Maybe some day. Thanks so much.
Very nicely done. A good video about how it is in IMC
Congrats on your 10 year anniversary.
Thanks so much.

Thanks! It was a fun trip. We are already missing it. Thanks for the support!

Happy anniversary 🎉🎉
Butter! 👍You are #UMMazing! This would be a great approach to recreate in MSFS. Thank you for sharing.
I receive daily life ending offers too! Something about teachers married to firemen brings that out! 😆
hahahhahahah
Congratulations!!!
Thank you!
this is good flying
Thanks Donny, Hope you enjoyed it.
Another good video (and a comment to help your algorithm 😉)
We try! And that second part is never my friend!
A+++
Thanks Jeff.
Just curious... how are the subtitles populated? Is it an app or some sort of CZcams software?
CZcams picks up on what it thinks I’m saying after about 12-24 hours after upload. Then I just turn them on. I’m supposed to go through and edit and sync correctly buuuuttt

What camera's do you have? I have the Hero 9 and it gets super hot and shuts off after 10 minutes in the cockpit. How do you have your wing camera mounted? I'm afraid to use suction cup since I can cruise above the limit of the suction cup. I have a T310Q. Thanks for info!
I have a go pro 8 which is likely the highest I will go. The 7s are rock solid. But the 8s are touchy. 9 and 10 are even worse. First turn off everything. All WIFI GPS. Only record in 1080P. No 2.7, or 4K. I also have a battery pack connected via usb cable. I leave the battery door open for air cooling. All of this and it still shuts down when I’m direct sunlight.
On the wing - I won’t be doing that particular angle any more. Not really a good idea. All of our mounts are from flightflix.net
How tall are you!?
About 6'1''. I don't have much head room. That's the rough part.
Hypoxia at 10 mins. Lol
100% correct. lol
