- I mount my piece much like a wall with rectangles of jatoba and ash wood with epoxy resin to glue everything together.
I use a three part mold made by myself in order to save resin and to obtain an already round part ready for the wood lathe. A carnauba wax-based finish is applied to protect and give a slight shine.
In this video on woodworking, it is necessary to know how to use woodworking machines.
It is always in a calm and soothing environment of the asmr type that I film my work in order to share it with you.

Je monte ma pièce un peu comme un mur avec des rectangles de jatoba et de bois de frêne avec de la résine époxy pour coller le tout ensemble.
J'utilise un moule en trois parties réalisé par moi-même afin d'économiser de la résine et d'obtenir une pièce déjà ronde prête pour le tour à bois. Une finition à base de cire de carnauba est appliquée pour protéger et donner un léger éclat.
Dans cette vidéo sur le travail du bois, il est nécessaire de savoir utiliser les machines à bois.
C'est toujours dans un environnement calme et apaisant de type asmr que je filme mon travail afin de le partager avec vous.

A very attractive bowl, with good contrast between the two wood types, then the bronze resin frames each piece, again adding contrast to the piece. Your silicone rubber moulds and the hard outer shell definitely helps to cut down on potential waste, always a good thing. Thank you Morgan for your time and skills, be safe and well, my friend 👍

At first I thought yeah, I understand why you say interesting result ( instead of ‘ fabulous ‘ ) , but the end result is much more than just interesting! When you first started I was thinking no way is that dab of CA glue going to hold while turning, then when you started with the resin it was ok that will hold but there is going to be voids where the resin didn't go. Happy to say I was wrong on both counts. Turned into a great looking piece.

WOW I don't know why but I was expecting the lines in the gaps to curve after you had finished. I thought, at the begining, you were using red glue. Is that why you chose red resin? x

yes everything is done, I used red resin so that the curves thus created are visible😉
Beautiful bowl, my only thought is you should have filled the center of the block with scrap wood that would be turned out anyway !! It's a shame to waist the good wood to turn it into sawdust.😢😢

yes exact I made another one with a lid so little loss, but this one I made with scrap wood for the middle 😉

Why bother putting all that material and effort into the center of your forms when it will be nothing but sawdust? It seems so wasteful. I've seen other artisans who cut away the center to make a smaller bowl or create a void when building or pouring.
if you calculate the dimensions of each piece to which you observe the shape of the bowl you will see that the positioning is logical 😉
