AJ, it’d be so tight if you did a history of WDW restaurants! Which ones are OGs? Which ones don’t exist anymore? When in the timeline did Disney food start to evolve from what we know as standard theme park fare?

...my wife and I took our honeymoon in Epcot in 1976 back in the "olden times".
That was considered somewhat of non-traditional place for one to go to celebrate one's wedding back then, but I had been to Disney World as a high school band trip chaperone for a band competition and was aware
It turned out to be "perfection"!
The schools and families hadn't gone on summer vacation yet so Epcot was very uncrowded.
We drove down from Wisconsin in my wife's brand-new Honda Prelude sports car that had a power sunroof and was quite the exotic car at the time. It was still in "like new" condition.
The flowers and foliage were lush in Epcot.
We strolled around at our leisure, ate in luxurious restaurants, everything at a relaxed pace with no waiting and fussy kids.
We really savored and appreciated this opportunity and experience.
For our last day and night we stayed in a concierge level top floor suite with all the trimmings...complimentary newspaper, bathrobes, sumptuous buffet breakfast, champagne and all the ecoutremonts.
One could see all the surrounding resort grounds which included a large pond and sand beaches including large sun umbrellas from our top floor views.
    It was worth it!

The shoes tip is super important! I would also add, bring quality socks and at least one pair of shoes you can wear socks with. Sandals are fun, but sometimes you just need to be dry. I ended up having to go to Disney Springs and buy new sneakers my last trip. It totally saved my vacation, though.

Bring my own alarm clock now , shipping stuff home instead of bringing it back and trying to fit it in the suitcase ( Godsend) , and being aware of travel time in Disney. I’ve been checking for reservations almost every day for the past 30 days and one thing I’ve noticed is that every single time I check to see if the place I want is available just 24 hours later or day of, it is. Like you can literally go to Disney world with no restaurant reservations and still eat wherever you want if you do the 24 hour or day of trick. I’m convinced of it.

For me, I've always been able to order the kids menu at sit down restaurants because I'm always upfront that the heat winds up giving me heat exhaustion and I can't eat large amounts without getting sick. So if you have a health reason for needing a kids size meal, they're very accommodating

    My two favorite tips:
-Ask a Cast Member when you wonder something or need help like moving scheduele or planned event.
-Have a printed hard copy of youre itienery. Even if you can find everything you need on the ap you might have need of a hard copy or even find it easier to find info on those. But if the Wi Fi goes down or youre battery runs out during a long day you might thank youreself to have a hard copy of everything in paper. When I was in WDW I had my scheduele printed out before I go and took everydays page/s with me. In that way I could always look at the paper for refreshing my brain. Johan.

Boarding passes, virtual queues, apps, booking things months in advance it seems like Disney is so inaccessible these days. It feels like people need reservations on reservations to even ride rides or eat at a restaurant now. What happened to just waiting in line for a ride? I used to go to Disney every month as a Florida resident but haven't been in at least 10 years and now I am so unsure if it is worth it at all

I love the tip about leaving the park for lunch! Can I make an ADR for a different park than my Park pass is for that day? For example, say I'm in AK on a certain day, but want to eat at Be Our Guest.

Hi AJ, thank you for the awesome info. Will the travel agent help me book the boo bash tickets even if I’m not booking to stay at Disney?

By some miracle every time I go to Hollywood Studios I’m able to get a spot for Rise of the Resistance without fail. Your tips really help!

@@wissiemd well I always try to be up early for the 7 am slot and constantly refresh. If by some chance I don’t get it I try again at 2. Maybe it’s just my luck but I’ve always gotten it. I am an annual passholder so I go to Disney quite often. It could possibly be because I go more often I have a higher chance of riding it. Sorry if I can’t be more helpful.

Tip number 13 couldn’t be truer! My family and I had reservations for Whispering Canyon Café at the Wilderness Lodge, and we were staying at Pop century. We knew it was going to be a bit of a treck to get there, so we left about an hour before our reservation, hopped on a bus to Magic Kingdom, and then got in line to take a boat over to the wilderness Lodge. We weren’t counting on the boats being late, and we were kept waiting for over a half hour. They never did tell us the real reason why. Anyway, we finally got to the wilderness Lodge and we’re about 10 to 15 minutes late for our reservation. I was so nervous that they were going to turn us away, but they couldn’t have been nicer. What I didn’t know what the time is that whatever bracket of meal times you’re in, i.e. breakfast time, lunchtime, dinner time, as long as you’re within that timeframe, they should be able to accommodate you and still seat you.
