Still getting low fps ? try lowering the resolution ingame i.e Using the Resolution Scale option, Start at 100% then work downwards until viable results are found.
Try overclocking both your CPU & GPU, this can help out a TON! just find out what your gpu or cpu is, or both and youtube for overclocking guides, this will help ALOT!

Just so you guys know for me the fix was a lot simpler in the audio settings of the game itself. There is an option to change from auto to stereo. Or Dolby 7.1. Etc. Changing it to stereo or Dolby 7.1 completely fixed the stuttering issue for me.

One of the best games that isn't done right on PC
Tombraider reboot to shadow of the tomb raider have always been unoptimised on pc and overheat the gaming laptops, unless you have a high end 1/2yrs old gpu after game was launched.
Mayb u play SOTTR on the consoles or high end gaming desktop gtx 1080ti or rtx 2060--2080.

@@exgamer5073 exactly, pc gaming is unoptimised unless u play esport titles, call of duty, battlefield, fighting games, and ny other well optimised games. some games from certain companies like Ubisoft are always poorly optimised fr pc.. at this point get a ps 5 or xbox series x fr AAA rpg games, exclusives and, esports fr pc. problem solved.

I read reviews from people with like RTX 2080 complaining about framedrops and stuff.
The game runs perfectly on my GTX 1070 on ultra. The only thing I can think of is V-sync I always keep it enabled in-game or driver level and my gaming never suffers from "the game not performing well on my RTX 3080".
The problem is that any GPU will be stressed to max when not capped with V-sync or limiter.
I could get 60+fps with my GPU but my graphics cards gonna be stressed to max for no reason whatsoever. Friendly advice, check the V-sync for good and stable performance of your GPU.

I was having really unstable framerates on my RX 570, the framerate would be a smooth as silk 60fps one minute and stutter like balls the next. I fixed it by installing the game on an ssd.

I play it with ps4 controller. I had another cheap one plugged in with usb. I unpluged it and for some reason everything was smooth with steady 60fps with high settings. Spread it on other forums!

I used the settings from the video and i got a 55 fps.
Then i increased texture quality and LOD to Ultra, added BTAO and x16AA and i got 53 fps.
WTF really? Optimization of this game makes no sense.
well, 16xAF* (as I'm sure you mean as this game has no 16x Anti aliasing, nor would any pc be able to run anything at 16x AA) should go without saying for any card after the kepler series chronologically. GPUs after that point got so good at anisotropic filtering that it costs barely 1 full fps to go from off to 16x. BTAO is a very cheap form of ambient occlusion, developed in house as far as I can understand, so it makes sense that it would optimized to the point that it would have little effect on FPS, especially as the only other 2 options are off and HBAO+, one looking like horseshit and the other being wonderful but at a great cost, even for nvidia GPUs.
LoD to ultra should've made a difference though, that coupled with the fact that you actually got better fps is what makes me think that the first time you tested something was hogging resources, as it is absolutely impossible to activate any form of ambient occlusion and not get an FPS hit. Either that, or you didn't test the exact same scenario, but if you used the in game benchmark that is implausible.

@@Immeriam oh no I never called you a liar, I'm just saying mistakes happen. It would be really weird if turning ao on gives more FPS, and no home computer is benchmark level sterilized running only the barebones essentianls, something must've been hogging, even if it was just a little bit. Enabling AO means the GPU has to now calculate what is occluded on the scene and shade appropriately, something that it didn't have to calculate before. It's like saying someone can do 2 math equations faster than he can do one of the two.

Mine would run great outside areas but inside was getting terrible FPS drops
In maxed out ultra I have 70-100 fps with an rx 480 and ryzen 5 1600 and with the rx 570 in normal setting 70-130 fps. So there's not an optimization or maybe 2-3 fps
no matter what settings I run the game on i seem to get 60-70 fps, which I wouldn't complain about, except about every 10-15 seconds I get these stutters where it shits the bed and drops to 10 fps and it's making it unplayable, and very frustrating. I can run any game on my PC, no problem, why is this the only game on the market that does this to me?
Arcturus OW put the game priority to high in task manager, this stopped all stutter for me.. which was seriously bad before for me
is there a way to have the game always start on high priority, without having to go into task manager and do that manually every time you run the game?

Went from 100 average (everything on ultra/max) to 108 average (these settings) so an 8% increase. Setting everything to the lowest actually decreases the FPS for some reason, so I guess no matter what I do I won't be seeing any locked 144 with my specs. Oh well! :)

im using 2080 with a i9 cpu and i get sometimes even 60-70 fps in this with ray tracing off 1440P resolution and high settings totally broken game ..

this guide might be good for budget or med range cards running at 1080p or lower. however if you have med-high, high or enthusiastic gpu(amd: 580/590 or Vega, in nvidia 1070ti or higher pascal or any turing) do not follow this guide especially if you are running at 1440p/ultrawide/4k/5k/8k or surround monitor(multi monitor setup). for those search for hardware unboxed channels shadow of tomb optimisation guide.

920mx will not even play this in 800x600 all ultra low... You need a minimum of 940mx to play it in 720p ultra low 20-25 fps
this game has the worst optimalization in 2018... actually i dont know any other game with that bad optimalization... interesting fact, shadows are just on or off theres no difference between low and ultra i dont know for what there is low, medium, high and ultra when there is absolutely no difference ... i checked CPU and GPU usage, CPU was 85% GPU 100% but power was low and temperatures were 7-12°C lower than with other games and CPU VRMs were cooler too and GPU power showed only 94% when in other games its 105-111%. its like its not using hardware correctly or there is some retarded DRM protection or i dont know
