      My dad has one of the rock and roll hand sighn with bull horns across it and tbh it looks great it's been 23 years and hes 41 and it looks great.
      To address the not being able to find tons of pics on this style that would be because people who get this style dont usually show them off they are a more personal tat.
      Btw they hurt a hella lot and my dad has a super high pain tolerance but again he got his 20 plus years ago old needle style.

      i have one fine line black tattoo that is a reinterpretation of picasso violin collage 1912. I had it done two years ago, and its on my forearm. i apply sunscreen when i know i will be out in the sun for hours, but usually i just leave it alone. its doing quite great, turning a bit grey like any other black tattoos do, and the area with many dots is becoming a bit greyish, when the tiny tiny dots start to blend. I mean from normal distance it looks like a grey area, but closely u see many dots irregularly forming the grey. The lines won't be perfect, because they are so thin that any imperfection will be shown, and with so many lines and 4 hours of work, u cannot expect the artist to be perfect in every single stroke, but i am ok with my tattoo. And because my tattoo design is like a sketch, as in the original collage by picasso, the lines are meant to be like pencil strokes. So i cannot really tell you guys if line stays perfectly and ages perfectly because they were kind of meant to be imperfect in the first place. I have another tattoo which is not completely fine line, yet the is a very tiny part, with a blue dot inside of a blue line circle, the circle around 1mm. after 3 years, now, it is like a blue circle, the dot blended and filled the whole thing. but its so tiny so i expected it and it doesn't really change my tattoo. Afteralll i just wanna say, we are not perfect, art is not perfect, tattoo is art done by human on human body, so it should be 3x imperfect. Don't let the imperfection overshadows the beauty of it. And i won't be beautiful when I'm 50, so i guess looking good when i am 20 is enough haha. if u want any pic of my tattoos u can dm me on ig: adrietus

    Great video. There are so many people doing fine line work these days. I'm sure Big Steve's work heals perfectly, but I see so many fine line tattoos that partially fall out or badly fade within months. If you're going to get a fine line tattoo it's important to pick your artist very carefully. Like mentioned by Steve seeing healed work for fine line tattoos is a must, also after care for fine line tattoos is key.

    This seemed like a video that could give a lot of info or tips about fine line tattoos I didn’t really get a whole lotta of info on fine line tattoos other than “they’re usually done with a single needle.” Like how is that different from more needles? Does it hurt more? Does the artist have to work harder since they got the one? What’s the history? It was more life story about the artist than the tattoo. It was a good video but the title was a little misleading

    I have also been tattooing since 2001 in the same shop so I get to see my work years later I am a fine line tattoo artist and all my tattoos have stayed even the ones I did 17 years ago. I will say you have to have a very steady hand to do fine line tattoos.

    • @jkimmyloser
      @jkimmyloser Před rokem +2

      Finally someone said it LOL!
      Steady hand is really important, and the artist understanding contrast really well.
      Negative space is what makes the art pop--when they do that right, it's great from there.
      Definitely a larger fine line piece that offers room for contrast will look better in the future. Comparing fine line pieces I have of 3 goldfish and a tiny blossom branch w/petals vs. my snake and flowers one...Snake and flowers being the larger in size ages nicer.

Obviously it has faded a tad since getting it done like any tattoo but it’s still crisp and bold. Maybe I just did good research on a tattoo artist or maybe I sat still. Or maybe I actually followed what the artist said for the healing process and I don’t try to tan the fuck out of my skin or do something on my own to ruin the work on my body. So many people talk shit about single needle tattoos and say they don’t last or they don’t look good after healing. Mine looks amazing. It takes up the back of my forearm almost a quarter sleeve. My artist, Jamie Henderson of Forsaken Ink Tattoo in Milford, PA, does a lot of his work in fine line - single needle work. I always have people coming up to me asking/complimenting me about my ink, wondering who did the line work as it's some of the best they've ever seen.

    Most of my tattoos are single to 3-4 needle tattoos. They have blown out a little as expected but they haven’t faded at all. The only exception would be my finger tattoo but that’s because it’s a finger tattoo

    Alright so can someone explain to me what the difference between a fine line and just a black tattoo that focuses on linework is? Is it literally just the needles used and the thickness of all the lines? Because I'm seeing some very conflicting things in the comments about what lasts.

    • @sidneyr525
      @sidneyr525 Před rokem +1

      yes a fine line tattoo is mostly concerned with the thinness of the lines. you can have a line work tattoo that is fine line, but a blackwork tattoo doesn’t necessarily have to be fine line.

    single needle tattoos are 100% guaranteed to blow out and need space to grow, bolder tattoos you dont notice as much if by a millimeter it leaks when it ages but with fine line you absolutely do. get fine line if you want but if you want details go big or go home and accept its a piece you will have to touch up as it fades 5-10 years down the line. my only tattoo is a size 3 needle tattoo

      It isn't too bad! I've heard it compared to scratching a sunburn really hard, which I've found to be pretty accurate. You also have to keep in mind that if you choose the right piece and the right artist, the tattoo can last a lifetime, which I would say is well worth the short time you're experiencing pain

      Preston Taylor ok say you get it done by the BEST and you don’t get a blowout, there is not ONE reputable tattoo artist who will tell you it’s gonna last. Most have about 1/2 the life of a traditional tattoo and can cost much more bc the artist will most likely specialize in micro/single needle work. Some of the artists are charging CRAZY amounts (yes, it can be breathtaking work for sure) but it’s temporary. In a few years it looks like skin cancer. If you drop $1k on a tatt it should last more than a few years. It may last even less if exposed to sun without constant protection on it.

    • @narutofox180
      @narutofox180 Před 5 lety

      I don't think it's physically possible for work to be healed that quick, it's just not how the human body works. I can see if it's a small piece that wasn't raked over multiple time for coloring but idk, it sounds fishy to me that something can heal as quick as even 5 days as he states his heal.
