    Just replaced the chain on my saw, I am a 70 year old woman......glad to have these instructions though, wanted to make sure I had the chain on the right way. Mine was a tad different because mine is electric, ,mine has a little metal bar that goes in front of the sprocket to make sure the chain doesn't slip forward and off.

    I was running this saw for about 2 hours at about a 30-50% duty cycle czcams.com/users/postUgkxfQm1wmg0ItKDLavxj1nXtQY9HP7EF504 and it did a great job. I used the lever for the built in sharpener to clear chip buildup out more than to actually sharpen the chain. It managed to cut some hardwood stumps much larger than it's size without bothering the neighbors with hours of 2 stroke noise.

    Handy thing do is clean the bar completely and check the oil feed is clear then run chain oil around the bar grove to protect the bar as a new chain will be dry and run hot until oil finds its way around.

    • @neababyblu
      @neababyblu Před 5 lety

      the new chain is not dry it is covered in oil, or mine was.....

    I have a Poulan electric chainsaw model ES300 and need to replace the drive gear since motor runs but chain doesn't. do you have a video or instructions on how to do this? this model doesn't have a brake and looks like you'd have to disassemble the motor side (my guess). thanks for any guidance.

    At 1:15 you say direction of sharp edge pointing back, I wish you could have clarified by saying which sharp edge you taking about the 30 degree angle or the hook ?

    New Poulan 18" keeps pissing the chain. I've replaced it 3x with a max of 10 minutes use total. I keep seeing one is supposed to lift the end of the bar when tensioning. True or false?

    Just be sure that the tanksion screw is tightened correctly. Nothing worse than not enough tanksion when you’re using the chainsaw!

  • @Dunksterify
    @Dunksterify Před 6 lety +1

    Tip from an avid mechanic. Take poulan chainsaw back to the store you bought it from or calmly throw the motherfucker in the trash after you use it The first time. I went through 4 in a week and the store I used decided to stop selling them. Buy one Stihl and you'll have it whenever you need it.
