My new homemade train speeding over abandoned railway tracks. Power draisine on railroad

  • After my previous rail cart got stolen, I managed to find some new train wheels on Craiglist. This time I went for an even more exciting build. This time around, the frame is made of steel for better stiffness and the engine was upgraded to a Suzuki 125cc 2-stroke engine. Coupled with a 6-speed transmission to deliver its 14hp to the tracks! It works wonderfully, so wonderfully that the top speed is still unknown because I got scared in 5th gear at around 50km/h.
Theoretically, it should be able to do 70-80km/h

@@insevanhouts I believe in France they have to leave the rails in situ for at least 20 years after closure. Here in the UK they tend to tear them up pretty quickly after closure. Often only 1 or 2 years. Usually as soon as anyone mentions the word "Reopening"

And your camera angles are great! If you have enough track, that would make a great day trip somewhere.
