thanks for your commentary on this. Another reactor said the same thing about COT being like SuperShy, based on the intro. But she emphatically later said that COT was definitely different as the song progressed, and was raving about the vocals, dance and the visuals. COT was aimed at the international market to pique interest in BINI. It is the bait that will lead reactors/KPop fans down the BINI rabbithole, where they will be ambushed by the core BINI hits like Karera, Salamin, Pantropiko and Lagi - all Tagalog songs that always hit their mark, no matter the audience. And then if they want to talk vocal and dance skills, the rabbithole goes deeper.
I know Bini's COT sounds international but I never once thought that it sounds similar with NJ's SS. I like both groups so it's a treat to see them in one video ❤ and the analysis, wow. I didnt know major and minor keys play such important roles in the mood of the music you want to make. I learned something new today. Thanks ❤
It's literally the same genre, but not the same song, obviously. As much as you would pick different songs in the same genre, they would definitely sound the same vibes. Now everyone is going to say that it sounds like NJ super shy but only because it is only the popular song that idol fans know that is garage. Lol. Let me know if anyone knows another garage song. If I compare it since I know another one who uses the same genre, it also sounds like PinkPantheress. Also, the genre is not even entirely consistent throughout, there is a rap+r&b break in the middle and how they sang it with sass and power just completely changes the feel of the song. For me, only the instrumental intro at first makes me think it is a copy but once you heard the full song, it did not make me feel the super shy vibes.
I'm surprised people are still not mentioning PinkPanthress into the conversation. Because PinkPanthress is the main popstar who introduced this genre to the mainstream. NewJeans is nothing but copycats either if we're talking about plagiarism 🤷🏻♀️
@@officialjkent "Boy's a Liar" was her song that became a huge hit, especially the feature with Ice Spice. the song was probably the first song to enter the mainstream scene to introduce the signature UK garage beat pattern and cutesy arcade-like aesthetic and hyper pop
