    I love Havukruunu! One of my absolutely top 10 bands. Whatever you, Scandinavians, do, you conquer totally. Vikings by heart. Best regards from 🇺🇸

    • @kramalerav
      @kramalerav Před 2 lety +5

      I personally do not consider Finland to be a part of Scandinavia per se. Some of the best black metal bands right now are coming out of Finland. Havukruunu draws strong influence from Bathory and Taake, but the best thing about this Finnish bm scene is that they’ve taken the sound and made it distinctly their own. To lump them in as just “you Scandinavians” doesn’t do these bands any justice, because let’s face it, aside from a very select few exceptions, the black metal coming out Norway and Sweden right now is less than impressive.
      The current Finnish scene stands head and shoulders over the nowadays aforementioned.

    • @RautaMetal

      Some consider Finland (and nearby areas) part of Scandinavia, while some don't. Even Wikipedia mentions this :)

      @@RautaMetal Finland is NOT part of Scandinavia in fact. There is no point to call Finns Scandinavians after knowing this. There is a lot of other misinformation about Finland circling around. Like Finland being the happiest country in the world, which is 100% bs. Finland is part of Nordic countries, not Scandinavia. If you had lived in northern europe your life you would know the big differences with Scandinavians like Sweden and Norway and Finns but otherwise it's understandably easy to think about them as similar countries and people. One example is the language as Scandinavian countries have same kind of languages and Finnish is a completely different language and Scandinavians usually dont understand it at all. Finnish culture differs a lot as Scandinavians had a stable 20th century, Finland was war-ridden with multiple wars and the big depression in the 90s.

    Havukruunu is such an epic band! Their music is very dark and gloomy and yet it has this underlying speed metal element to it (especially the solos!).

      ‘How did you join the band’ is the most asked question since the beginning of rock music. This guy was very cool!
      I remember that ‘84 interview MTV did with Frank Zappa:
      *Journalist* ‘So, how did the band get started?’
      *Frank* ‘By accident.’
      [Long awkward silence]
      *Journalist* ‘umm..oookay..I guessss..I’ll move on to the next question.’
      *Frank* ‘Well, that’s good.’

    Great interview cool too see the band, I'd like to see a similar interview in finnish with english subtitles. I imagine they'd be able to communicate about their music better, or not, it can be hard to describe atmospheres and feelings around music. Dope they mentioned Razor as well.
