I know this might be quite a large topic for a guide but I would love to see a gear guide. I know there are best inslot lists. But something I have never seen is a guide breaking down what items would be good to start attacking the dungeons to actually get your best inslot. Don't know if this would interest you guys but yet again brilliant video guys keep up the good work.

@@DefcampMelderonTV yeah because depending on what class you choose your levelling gear will be all over the place and I know a lot of gear comes from dungeons but for you to be in a strong position to begin your pre raid bis list and make your groups run as smoothly as possible some type of breakdown would really help. I think this would be really helpful for the players that are transitioning from levelling to healing in dungeons and raids if you get what I mean.
Would love to se a guide that gives away tips and trix you can use for eatch class in serten situations. Warlocks as an example. New players might not know how to use Curse of Recklessness to controll fear on a mob or on your own toon, like if the player u killing have shadowreflector on. Just cast it and you cant get feard by that priest, warrior or warlock ;). All clasess have ther pics here and I could be a great way to collect them all ;) Just saying.

Darksh1ne layering is supposed to be very time limited. After a few weeks it should go away.
Same thing happens in retail, in a less extent sure but don't act like vanilla WoW has a monopoly on social interaction and karma :D

People running around like headless chickens when they pull aggro is the worst.
IDK if it's popular opinion, but running to the tank can feel counter-intuitive for newer players. The instinct is to just get away, in any direction so that you survive. But running into a fresh pack of enemies isn't going to keep you alive (nor is fearing an enemy into pulling fresh enemies).
Sometimes, it is even better to stand still and die than to have enemies kill your healer (or tank, which will almost always lead to healer death). Remember, corpse runs take FOREVER in most dungeons in Classic, so having your healer Resurrect you is much better than having to wait for everyone to run back.
@@baldie80 yes you are right, basic instincts not opinion. That was the word I was looking for.
One thing I’d add, if no one else has mentioned it, in reference to skinning. Mobs couldn’t be skinned unless all loot was taken off the mob. Sometimes you’ll be questing in an area and see someone skinning corpses. I always would loot everything and then throw away any grey stuff I didn’t need. That way that person could skin the mobs I’m killing after I’m done. That way we’re not competing with mobs. Especially in places like STV when you’re doing the nesingwary quests. Also once again great video guys. Keep it up 🤘🏼

Very nice video, I totally forgot we used to buff each other on the streets back in the day, nice memories, I can't wait for Classic WoW.
One thing I've found playing Classic for the relatively short amount of time I have is that being courteous is helpful to yourself 90% of the time. Even when you're doing something that doesn't directly help you, like giving away a heal pot or helping with mobs, people become way more inclined to return the favour which can be a great help in the long run. It feels amazing to be in a situation where you're almost killed by mobs while leveling only to be saved by someone you helped an hour ago.

That's exactly what happened to me the very first time I killed Hogger. I had no idea what the dragon around the portrait meant at the time, so I pulled without realizing what I was getting into. A player I had helped to kill Princess (after I had already done the quest) came to my rescue with a heal and some damage.
I have no idea if they remembered me or were just being helpful as I had been, but in the end it doesn't matter. The attitude of being helpful is probably the biggest reason people miss Classic so much.

I was once i a guild called "Random Acts of Kindness" that lived this philosophy. Really helped the social atmosphere on the server
I like a rogue as my miner. If he is fighting mobs and another player tries to ninja his vein, just vanish, the mobs attack the new player and yu can mine your node. Works for your or the opposing faction.
I like that Chimly is becoming this darling of the Classic WoW community. He deserves it!

Ahhh, the good olde days! This is an outstanding video, guys! Great job summarizing WoW as it used to be played; as it needs to be played. I just hope enough new and returning players will see your video and be reminded (or learn) of the expected etiquette you've outlined here. If so, it will be an awesome experience again. I have high hopes and cannot wait for summer!

Old school players like me (I am 41 yo playing since 2005 non stop hardcore pve) actually miss the old community more than the actual game! And believe me there will be TONS of those vanilla players coming back to classic!

Another thing I always try to do for dungeons is gather all the quests beforehand to share with my group mates. Takes time but it's totally worth it to save my group members some time and get some extra XP and loot.

It's sad to say that I forgot a lot of this thanks to systems like lfd/lfr, pretty much making wow a solo experience over the years. I can't w8 to experience the community aspect of wow again!
I've played wow for many years and more recently on unofficial servers but I always watch these videos because I usually learn something I didn't know. Today I learned that MOB = Monster or Beast, one decade-long mystery solved! Thanks for the great video!

Love, love, love this guide! More people need to follow this! I remember my days in vanilla wow fondly and am chomping at the bit for Classic! Only point in contention for me that I can think of, is the farming nodes and only clicking once if you only need the one point- I feel like it was such a struggle to make enough gold for mounts, you have to be a little selfish for money purposes if that node was rightfully yours in the first place? Maybe it's just me, idk.
Don't leave after one wipe, this isn't retail wow, you can't get into a group right away, it's a time investment, so if you are wiping be patient, try to reee- strategize.. :D

Haha 8:00 "What's a Sheep Moon". Man you just gave me back a flashback I had long forgotten. We were doing BFD with a paladin, whom I believe even went as dps. We didn't have a rogue or mage for good CC and I remember now I asked that pala that he could stun them or atleast the mob attacking the healer to help out. Answer I got was "what is stun" haha from a PALADIN :-D

Nitpick: HoTing the tank when OOC does not build threat on the healer, so roll hots prior to the pull. This will smooth the initial damage without threatbombing a mobpack.
The opposite of this also applies. If you lay hots after a pull, expect threat.
I confirm that, and private servers are bugged about that
People who didnt live thru vanilla won't immediately understand the value of all this. But, oh, they'll learn... They'll learn. This stuff is a joke in modern wow. In old wow, this advice is life.
the way i mark targets:
yellow = the TANK (follow and stand opposite)
moon = the HEALER (do not leave line of sight, check mana before pulls)
skull = fucus damage
X = focus next
blue = mage sheep, or cc#1
green = hunter trap, or cc#2
diamond = warlock banish, or cc#3
orange = stack on this guy while tank pulls back to us

Just only remember one thing and you will be perfectly fine: Every weapon, in particular thunderfury, belong to hunters.

I have to tell you guys, thank you so much for making this guide. I played and raided hard from vanilla through wrath then came back for WoD. So much has changed and the etiquette became nonexistent it was such a slap in the face to run runs and never even hear a thank you for the group from players. I would buff players and they wouldn't say a thing. It was so frustrating and disappointing to see how far the game had gone from its roots. Every piece of advice said here was completely common knowledge and owned by everyone. If you got blacklisted, good luck even getting accepted into a guild, let alone a group. A lot of times, guild leaders would talk to your guild leader and you would get penalized by your own guild if you ninja looted from a pug (random Pick Up Group) and they found out. The honor system is going to be a real thing in Classic. Beware. Keep up the excellent work guys!! Can't wait for August.

This is why Paladin is my favourite class, because I like playing doctor to low health alliance members and giving lots of buffs to passerby’s
Great guide! I wish everyone playing Classic WoW would watch this before they play. One thing that could be added is the ability to share quests with party members in dungeons and outside world adventuring. Many people miss quests for numerous reasons, and it's a gesture of good will to help them get quest rewards and XP they might not otherwise get.

I quit playing about 7 years ago, I came back recently and was shocked at the changes including etiquette. It was a bucket of water to the face. Thanks for putting this out several of these things can be applied to the current game.

One of my pet peeves back in the day was someone saying, " PST need tank send tell" lol
Perhaps my number one etiquette tip: Don't be the guy that's waiting for a dungeon group that keeps questing (or, whatever) until everyone else is at the instance. Yes, people can summon you, but that doesn't mean you're special. Everyone has things to do. Get to the dungeon and help summon, rather than making others wait on you.
The other thing to consider re:bailing on a dungeon early...you will not get teleported back anymore. You will be in the instance. So, it's nothing like bailing on an LFD group.
Very well done guys, I love a good buff - though as a dirty huntard I can't buff, but I can help a brother out when they get mobbed.
You can also share quests for instances, if you notice others in your party don't have quests you do have.
You forgot the terms pat, pack and inc.
The area a mob moves through. a group of mobs. in coming because I'm pulling or the pack is patting this way.

Slightly disappointed nipple wasn’t in the Kill/CC order.
But otherwise, this was fantastic. I hope this helps stem the flow of negative and self absorbed players. It’s kind of funny but also interesting how everything in this vid was once just common courtesy, common knowledge and unspoken rules that just developed through playing.

Great video!!! I would add that when in a group and someone makes a mistake try not to instantly go thermonuclear nerdrage. Try to politely educate before you berate someone.

Lotsa stuff that should be instinct at this point for veteran mmo players (at least I hope so) but it's nice to brush up on the little details that have slowly been lost since the days of vanilla. Also it was fun to recognise all the little nods to old wow memes and in jokes scattered about the video. 4str/4stam leather belt takes me back :)
Have to say though I was an alchemist in Vanilla and I never just gave random people potions in dungeon runs, Friends and guildies in raids sure.
I mean potions take a good while of collecting herbs to make or a good chunk of gold to buy from AH they are certainly not something to be given away for free like magewater that doesn't cost anything.
There is a difference in being nice and becoming a charity.
I was giving low level/inexpensive potions to some of my 5 man runs. I used to hoard portions and materials and use them sporadically through the course of the server. (I can see your point though.)
I played a Paladin Alchemist in Vanilla, and so I always had way more pots than I needed. I could heal myself, so health pots specifically I was fairly free with, since you end up making quite a few to skill up the profession. Just hang on to enough Minor Health potions to "upgrade" them to the next rank with Briarthorn. I made that mistake back then lol!

retraining all the new players is going to be quite the job. Personally, I'll be keeping a list of people to avoid and the reasons why and what happened. I remember just like pepredge farms....we remember... :D
If you are DPS wait till at least 3 sunders before engaging mob in party or raid
Great video, in my opinion you could add "Bring necessary consumables" under class & profession etiquette. Too many times you see healers (and dps) without water, warlocks who can't summon without soul shards and god forbid hunters who run out of arrows half ways through. As a warlock you should not expect heals either, bring food and water. Cheers!

Some of my best friends and guildies in WoW came into my circle because of random acts of kindness in the wild. I was a protection warrior and ran into an elf priest wanting to do a group for the Deadmines. She was getting hit by a lot of the mobs near the entrance and my warrior came charging in to save the day. Found a paladin killing mobs during the Scourge invasion and we actually fought on the very last scourge mob before the event ended. To this day we joke that our characters were the ones that ended it.
This is the stuff that not only build's your character's history, but also your fun memories playing the game. Stuff that I just don't get nearly as much out of from the current retail game, which is probably why I don't currently have a subscription.
Gotta admit...Classic WoW is really looking tempting though. I'm especially looking forward to seeing the full restored versions of places like Scholomance, Sunken Temple and even Deadmines the way it used to be. Maybe I'll finally get the warrior Valor boots to drop off the gargoyle (100+ runs and never got them to drop in vanilla but..I'm not bitter LOL)
We're such an advanced and evolved species. We've gotten to the point where we need guides on simple human interaction.
I remember a max level player offering me a run through the deadmines for gear and lootz, and I did the same for people when I got to max. :D I really miss doing things like that, I even still buff those rare people out in the world on retail when I see them. :(
I did that a lot back in the day. Especially when a low level new guild member would join and I was high level. I'd usually toss them a nice chunk of gold to buy bags and an early set of gear to get up to speed. The faster they got leveled up, the better anyways.

Getting into a group and people say, "Hey I own some of the stuff you crafted"
On healing (and mana users in general) - you start drinking only when out of combat but you can drink in combat if you have started beforehand,, which means that if you either have multiple healers or just breeze through a group content giving mana user out of combat moment just to initiate drinking instead of chainpulling back to back will make you clear faster and avoid shameful wipes on the content you thought you overgeared.
As new player in WoW, this is so useful indeed
Correction for Warlock: Life Tap all you need. The (main) healer should not have to heal you, because you should know how not to pull aggro, you have a Healthstone, Drain/Siphon Life, and several other survivability resources. If your healer complains of having to heal you too much, explain to them that you do not need healing, although it's appreciated if they can spare it; pure DPS does lead to a quicker kill than Drain/Siphon.
"All you need", by the way, does not mean down to 5% health. Even knowing you're a warlock, any healer will have an anxiety spike at a health bar that suddenly plummets below 50%.
On the other hand, you have one of the best spells for deliberately pulling aggro (Searing Pain), and there are times to do that! You are better at tanking than other pure casters, so if they get aggro from adds, you are well-equipped to take it off them if necessary. Even, or pehaps especially then, you should be able to do that job without getting heals, unless your party has multiple healers.
There are some special circumstances where you will be main-tanking or inevitably taking damage, in which case of course, the healer(s) will be healing you.
This all leads to a general etiquette point for Warlock: We can do some crazy stuff that will freak out or confuse other classes, in addition to the above, juggling a mob with Fear/Curse of Recklessness, and Succubus Seduce (easily broken and not as quick to reapply as polymorph). The best policy with new folks is to check that they know, and explain to them if they don't.

The acronym for PST was added after it's initial usage to be more precise in what it means. People would say, "WTS Enchants [some enchant list] pst me", or "psst me" It was the sound of sending a whisper. Like if you wanted to whisper someone in real life you might say "pst, look here". It's a sound like "ugh", later people said it means please send tell. But "Please send tell me" doesn't make sense. It just got shortened to "pst" At least this was my experience circa 2004. People were saying pst me, long before just PST.
I laughed way too hard at that redridge picture with the undead rogue right behind him.
Blizzard should make it mandatory for everyone to watch this before playing Classic for the first time

Make sure auto loot is not on when just skilling up on mineral/ herb / skinning.
Also use fear wisely ( spell tends to gather adds)
