HURRICANE HUGO @ NEVIS 1989

SCENES OF NEVIS DURING HURRICANE HUGO 1989. Apart from the damages is a glimpse of how Nevis looked back then...The cars, buildings etc. Rest Haven Inn can be seen and the Coconut trees across Pinneys Beach and the rest of the Island. Found this on an old vhs in my collection and alot of the footage had gone bad, so some is missing

Poor Rest Haven and the Pinneys Beach hotel never really recovered from this. Ditto Cliff Dwellers and Zetlands...

I was 7 when this stormed damaged nevis but if I remember correctly, montserrat and st Croix got it even worse...

Montserrat was LITERALLY inside the eye...the whole island can be seen on radar in the eye.
