I died laughing.
🤣
Evil as hell.
Thats dead ass sad
I love how God is just smiling while getting roasted because he's happy someone cares so deeply for Lucifer that they arent terrified of going and defending lucifer while putting the sickest burn down on the almighty. Id be happy knowing someone loved my kid that much too so no wonder he's grinning.
Hehe
Nope, I don’t think that’s it at all. I think, there’s someone so comfortable in themselves they really don’t care about the whole sandals and socks vibe……..and teamed with a cardigan…………….GROOVY! It’s also quite possible I’m too shallow to get any of the more nuanced subtleties.
That is such an inciteful comment. Thanks for summing that up.
@@ericmason349
INSIGHTFUL....lol
Add to that, the fact that Chloe was a sort of gift from God to help him find his own brand of redemption and the plan seems to be working (whatever its end game may be). So (dare I say it?) HELL YES He's smiling because things are going according to plan. She's not afraid of the devil, not afraid to smack down God, so Lucifer has finally met his match.
His touched smile, as she stands up for him... They are just meant to be.
Her sense of outrage and injustice completely overwhelmed every instinct of self-preservation, which clearly touched him. And how do you not love the line about knowing what's it like to be a working parent. :)
And she brought up her issue of being a "gift", yes....too bad God never answered her

I mean Chloe did get the Abridged version of God as a parent from Lucifer and Amenadiel. And she knows Goddess had her faults but everything was for her family. God, well, the Enigmatic nonchalant attitude is grating

And the real kicker is he already knew everything she was going to say
Yea he did.. after all he's God #respectfully🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
If u think that way that means God created her to say that when he made her. In a way he is listening to what he programmed her to say.
@@oneaboveall8190
Well not really. He made free will, so I think there's a difference between Him *knowing* what she was going to say? Because He didn't program it into her, He simply knew that she would use her free will to say that
@@samuraix558 but having the knowledge ,Omniscience, of everything negates the ability for anyone to have a free will. Since the everyone would have to live their lives like a record, an example of this would be Dr Manhattan from watchmen.
Now if the person was Omniscience but had the ability to forget or to partition the knowledge in such a way that they never fully knew all. The argument for free will could be valid since not everything is known by someone at one time.
@@samuraix558 did you even read the bible? He wanted loyal servants so he made adam, adam wanted a partner, god used Adam's ribs to create his partner. Lucifer/satan as a snake uses charisma to talk eve into eating an apple, through eve adam followed.

That "Yeah" is just brilliantly acted. Like "Can you believe this guy?!". Lauren was really amazing in S5B. Of course the whole cast was but she and Tom really upped their game :D
Tom was superb since s1e1, no lie.
I love that Lucifer is half smirking at 1:07 at Chloe sticking up for him.
In that moment his heart swelled with love because she had his back
1:37 this part always get me. The way Chloe is just going off and then Lucifer stops her😂😂😂
“Your kid acts up” understatement of the century

And yeah, the next moment lucifer knew also she could be smited up in a blink if she crossover little more.😂
Hail the King Madara and Prince Itachi.
I love how Lucifer still looks surprised when Chloe first starts roasting his father for being a bad parent.
you know, all things considered, she held her shit together quite well here. she is literally meeting god and she just goes in, stands up for her devil and calls out god for his shit parenting. shame Lucifer dragged her away before getting into the "she's a gift" bit, would of been good to air that out. Am I the only one that caught onto God being smug as hell when he finally said something, he knew damn well she was going to be the best GF for Lucifer and was so glad he made that happen.
Well...considering how he actually smited Dan (even though he fixed it right afterwards) it may have been a good idea to get Chloe away from that :D
@@ottokarl5427 I'd like to think he would of either done that to her or just told her there and then, he did seem very pleased to meet her and see that she was good for Lucifer. Also, Dan getting smited was the single biggest shock I've had in a long time
@@ottokarl5427 but Dan exploded in ep11. This is from ep10, Lucifer never dealt with this before

You know someone cares very much for your son, when that person knowingly walks up to the Alpha and the Omega and berates them on being a bad parent.

Chloe: Thats god?!?
Lucifer:fff she’s gonna fawn
Chloe:respectfully, sir, you’re awful
Lucifer:wait what?!?
I loved god in S5B his smiles were just wholesome. He always knows what’s happening but seeing it happening is just really cool for him. And when he didn’t knew what’s happening in that one episode he was practically giddy.
I like how she subtly added "respectfully" at the end after roasting him like there's no tomorrow
I think he was pleased to see his plan working out. Chloe was a "gift" and if you think about the sort of person a woman would have to be to be a partner for Lucifer, you're talking about a "One of a kind" creation.
Well she wasn't a gift personally, she was only a person blessed to HAVE a gift, that's why she is special. Amenadiel made it clear in episode 5. And she wasn't made to be a partner for Lucifer, she was only put on his path, and they met. Another was only their choice
@@oxanatarashchuk4598 God knew Lucifer enough to know he would fall for Chloe. There was no mistakes or random happenstance here. He had this planned from the start.

At least she didn’t get turned into a pillar of salt for speaking against him or looking back at a city being destroyed.
And also so good of Chloe to have the guts to demand to know why she was the gift.

Damn you brought back memories with this one .
Is that the original title for the novel about that girl Anna?
That is just an awesome scene. They could not have picked a better actor for God
True. I just don't understand why some fans were disappointed when he showed up and so desperately wanted Morgan Freeman? Dennis Haysbert is amazing in this role, now I couldn't imagine any other on his place
4 things I LOVE in this scene :
- the WTF and happy look of Lucifer when she stand up against God to defend him
- Chloe's first thought being roasting God for what he did to him
- The idea of what she was about to say about her being a present if she was not interrupt
- Chloe sharing the same feeling as Lucifer had about God from the begginning of the show
Love how Lucifer was terrified for her to meet 'God' at first, but then once she totally started roasting the Almighty One, all Lucifer could do was look at him like 'Yeah 'Dad'! What she said!'
I think he was more annoyed at the idea of yet another of his favorite people gushing over his dad. So when she started roasting dear daddy he felt WAY better.
I love it when a character burns another character, and finishes with "respectfully" (which is one reason I like caduceus from critical role)
Cad is awesome, I love how Taliesan played him. Snarky but in a super calm, polite way 😄
Total MVP of campaign 2.
I honestly didn't expect the roast session when I first saw this episode. She was gonna lean in on God knowing full well he could erase her from existence. Yet, she goes all in venting her anger and disappointment. While G-man she smiles and listens like : "Oh my Me, she loves my son so much she's willing to chew me out. I like this one more than I expected."
Sir...you are a terrible father
God in series: smiles...lucky to have you
Actual God: still smiles, really smiles...yh...we're gonna have a great time on judgment day.

@@Sapphiet1 that's when it all starts buddy. Right after you die
um...... let's not bring actual.....I guess beings?? what else can I say?? into this, because well, this is fictional, it's meant to be ridiculous and funny and stuff, to have someone create reality as we know it, and know what people are gonna say even before they say it, yet have them be a jackass of a parent, no, that ridiculous, but that's okay because it's meant to be like that
Whats he gona do, send her to hell ?
She has friends there.
@Daniel Boatright My thoughts exactly! xD
Jesus on Judgement Day: “You shall spend eternity in Hell for slandering my Father!”
Lucifer, from behind him: “Oh, it’ll be just like our honeymoon! Also…” *SMACK!* “Nobody talks to my wife that way…”

To be fair he kind of had it coming.
@@filthycasual8187 yes he had 🤣
@@pleasuregaming2601 He knew it too. He knew how this would all play out, even put in it motion. Everyone made their choices of their own free will, but he knew.
And this is how I knew she is a legit badass. She bitched out god!!!
I've never officially watched this show but this popped up on my feed so I thought I would give it a whirl. Telling off the Lord himself, creator of both realms (Heaven and Hell) takes a lot of backbone. Chloe did a masterful job. Good scene!
I love how Lucifer admits that his dad is here like an embarrassed kid
Chloe Decker casually lecturing God, respectfully.
I love how smug Lucifer is while Chloe gave god a lesson in parenting.
Lucifer: We don't want anyone get smited😁. 🤣🤣🤣
I love how at first Lucifer didn’t want her talking to him bc he thought she was just gonna say how thankful she was which is why he was so surprised by what she said
Hands down a top 5 scene of the whole series.
I was honestly expecting God to say "I see why you like her"
"don't inflate his ego"
Moments later "off you pop,dad"
Lucy= "here we go again..."
Lucy 1 minute later- "Huh...well damn."
He looks like he could give Morgan Freeman a run for his money.
yeah that actor does sure give that vibe xD
I'm convince that he is method acting as Morgan Freeman playing God.
Morgan Freeman would do a kick ass job as God!
@NYG1991 Clearly you need to watch Bruce Almighty.
Lucifer is so proud there! He's like "See Dad? That's MY Girl, here!"
Something else I hadn’t seen mentioned: not only is Chloe standing up for Lucifer in her first meeting with God… she brought that up FIRST as opposed to focusing on her being a “gift” and how upset she is regarding that. Showing she cares as much if not more for Lucifer than herself, instead of how wronged she feels.
She went full and throttle Mama Bear. I can't help but laugh.
Having Chloe Decker and Dean Winchester call God a terrible parent is always a good f****** time
lucifer: Now, you see what I've been dealing with?
Chloe: Yeah.
😂)))
The funniest thing is God barely said a few words 😂
These scenes are hilarious abnd georgeous. Great acting, Love them.
Chloe was like “hold up I’m not even close to done!”
Well, there's something to be said for having the courage to criticise the Lord to his face.
Moses did it too according to the Jews. Even Abraham. It's nothing new.
People do it all the time
Chloe's attitude would have meet my attitude if I saw God. With all the respect, of course.
I love how she knows he could just instantly remove her from existence and she like "nah idgaf you a bad dad" lol
Loved her response
This should be tittle “The God Level Karen” 😂
First day I met my ex wife's mother, 20 minutes into the meeting I ripped into her.
she was belittling her, the dad was there too
So I stood up walked over to her, look her in the eye from about 2 feet and growled
"You will treat your daughter with respect in my presence, she my tollerate your behaviour I DO NOT!"
The dad sat there, and said nothing.
My wife thanked me 5 minutes later, in the lounge room. My knees buckled.
Love way how lucifer looking at his dad he so lucky to have his dad ad god one rule, the earth.and hell Lucifer job to look after, hell Chloe,to be his love of his life ❤.
Lmao at the fact that Chloe was ready to throw hands with *GOD*
Let it never be said that Chloe Decker doesn't have guts!!! I do wish that she hadn't interrupted the silence by asking about being "the gift". Not that I'd recommend it with God (the actual one), but silence is an excellent technique when interrogating a suspect. Most people are so intimidated by silence that they will fill it at almost any cost, even volunteering information.
As for the whole "gift" issue, I have some thoughts:
+ Under *NORMAL* circumstances, considering someone to be "a gift from God" would be *FLATTERING;*
+ Chloe's conversation with Eve was so ironic, since she lamented the same thing, before Chloe realized she was in the same position;
+ I thought Chloe was satisfied by Amanadiel's statement, *"You aren't 'the gift'. That is";*
+ What did Chloe think a better alternative was? To not exist at all?
She thought she was a gift for lucifer from god. The only reason for her existence is to be with him and she never had really any chance to decide herself. Basically she knew that the free will is bullshit in her situation. I wouldn‘t be flattered either and I don‘t understand why it would be normal to be flattered.
Amanadiel is not god and she doesn‘t know if whatever he says is true. He was wrong before. (Eg. when he tried to get his wings back and tried to figure out what exactly god wants from him)
How about being born like everybody else? You can‘t justify the way god uses her by saying „Well, without this she wouldn’t exist at all.“ Or do you think a child that has been abused by its parents for years isn‘t allowed to critize them because he wouldn’t have been born without them?
@@brownwolf5766 Perhaps you’re reading too much into this. Projecting, maybe? (It’s OK.) Other than questioning her relationship with Lucifer, I don’t see Chloe regretting the rest of her life. Consider the decisions she made before learning about the whole “gift” thing, I don’t see her doubting her free will. Was she predestined to date DJ Karnal? Join the LAPD? Marry Dan? Give birth to Trixie? Accept Cain’s proposal? Save the lives that she saved as a police officer/detective? God forced her to do all that? “Mysterious ways”, indeed!
Amenadiel’s theory made more sense, actually. I can’t imagine Chloe telling Trixie, “I really should never have been born, so neither should you.” All of our choices are somewhat “limited” by our circumstances -- where and when we’re born, where we grew up, who we meet, etc. Also consider the “alternative reality” episode, entitled “Once Upon a Time” where John Decker survived, Chloe remained an actress, etc. I don’t see any “divine manipulation” beyond the fact that Amenadiel remedied John and Penelope Deckers’ infertility issues. The rest was only speculation. While any omniscient being could have foreseen the future, that’s different from *CONTROLLING* it. (Think back to the consequences of some of Lucifer's "favors", for example...)
I’m not criticizing you, personally. If you have some similar issues, I sympathize. The fact that this series spans heaven, hell, and earth gives us all some expanded opportunities to imagine ourselves in the shoes of one or more characters and imagine what we would feel and how we’d react. Literature, and a good author(s) tend to do that.
Have a blessed life.
@@ChaplainDaveSparks Why should I feel criticized? I am just telling you what I think about it. There is nothing wrong with disagreeing with me. And well, of course I am projecting. You did the same when you said it would be flattering under normal circumstances. Not everybody feels the same and I just wanted to say that I understand how chloe felt. It's not about the real intentions of god. I also think Amenadiel might be correct but that's not the point. The point is, that Chloe might not be satisfied with a theory from him. The alternative reality is just exactly what the name says so it doesn't really matter for the main story. I also don't think that god really fully controlls her, but probably manipulates her. Because Amenadiel had to go to earth to help chloes mother pregnant, I think god doesn't really influence the humans before birth that's why I think Chloes life was important to make her the women she was. So maybe, god really manipulated her life a bit so she and luficer would make a good couple. I don't think lucifer and some of the other angels would say that gods ways are mysterious if he wouldn't take a part in all of this. Have a blessed life as well.
@@brownwolf5766 well Chloe now knows that she isn't a gift, that she was given a gift, otherwise she would never came to Lucifer and say that she wants to be with him. And it's true, because if she'd ever was like that she would never have any feelings to another guys and never get married. But she already had Jed (her first love) and Dan with Trixie
I would still tell off the actual god because I don't care who you are, if you screwed up then you need to be told so. If I die in the process then so be it. I'd rather die on my feet, then to live on my knees.
"Respectfully, sir...you are a *terrible* father."

Lucifer never loved Chloe more than in the moment she had his back when it came to Dear Old Dad.
His look at 1:06 . I think in this Moment he loved her like never before.
I love this show so much ❤
Like it. He knows what is coming much before Lucifer and Chloe themselves and let a "ameba" telling He is a bad father, then he says something like "Nice to meet you. My son told me much about you." instead of a jupiteresque thunderbolt incinerating both of them for good.
Really wish God was that cool.
He is that cool😁
Tbf even in the comics even if he really wanted too he wouldn’t be able to just “smite” Lucy considering he was the strongest of the angels sure it’d prolly hurt a lil it wouldn’t outright wipe em from existence. This version of “god” is strong but he’s mainly known as the presence and isn’t as omnipotent as they show him in the show. granted most beings of his caliber are humbled by human nature all the time.
@@retro3856 Humbling something Godlike is rather human and history, movies and literature is plenty of.
I mean, even Superman with all his might is total zero to 4 powerless chaplains giving away their life jackets to save fellow sailors, going down with the ship.
And Lucifero is the runaway son: the most problematic, the most ambitious and the one you love the most (even if you want punch him hard).
When god forgot where his powers were I was expecting things to go very wrong very fast to the point of them raiding heaven to ask for help.
God would later admit his parenting was rather poor. But his love for Lucifer was always there. It brought God to tears to admit how proud he was of Lucifer.

It really is infuriating how he just stands/sits there with that smile/frown and doesn't directly respond to what you just said but conveys a vague approval/disapproval without specifically mentioning *why* . "Why?" really is all the questions he needs to answer and he never does.

Just a great example of how we are generally clueless about the nature of God...
Most BAMF Chloe moment in the show and I love how Lucifer's expression throughout the duration of her roasting shuffles from confused to proud to concerned that she's going to be smited.
If Lucifer hadn't stepped in and pulled her away I wonder if she would have punched the smile off God's face. He had some nerve to just stand there and ignore every word.
Look at Lucifer's face expression changing while Chloe calls God a terrible father.. He actually didn't expect her to stand for him, probably expected her to be like other humans, blindly accepting that what He does is right))
Anyone who ever read the Bible with a brain knows that there are times where Yahweh is blatantly wrong.
This is the reason why Israel originally meant “He who fights with God”
I thought the reason was because a man physically wrestled with God and was given the name Israel as a reward. Not because some Devil-loving cop mom wants to verbally defend her new mate.
@@EmptyMan000 that’s why Jacob specifically got the nickname Israel. But Yet the descendants and later followers of Jacob were known as the children of Israel. And given man’s rebellious nature it seems we still follow the legacy of fighting with God and the forces at play even long after Jacob
