Yes, as many of you suspected the video is fake. I don't think there'll be a patch for GT6 car sounds, cause it would have to be huge and extensive. Apparently, they are trying different technologies, where sounds are generated live. New VGT cars are using this, well, that's what GTP forum is saying. And the sounds were, like only few people have guessed it, not from real life or Forza, but from a game from few years ago called Project Gotham Racing 4 on Xbox 360.
I thought the downshifts sounded somewhat familiar to that game.
***** pgr4 was so fucking good. But I doubt MS will bring it back, since Forza sells a lot more.
Ceel942 The creators of PGR "Bizarre Creations" wanted to move onto multi-platform releases, rather than being Xbox exclusive, so in 2010 they made Blur, which was a high octane Mario Kart clone with real cars. It was a great game, despite being very different to PGR. Sadly, they haven't made any new racing games since, though I've heard the new Geometry Wars game for PS4 and Xbox One is pretty good. Though I'm not sure if it was made by them or some other company.
I can tell you that the most realistic sound in GT6 was the Mazda 787B. It was that close to sounding like the real thing! :D When the Spec 2 update comes, lets hope that the Mazda 787B's sound is even more realistic that It sounds just like the real car. :)
***** this is why when idiots says dumb crap "its on the PS3 which does not have the power", or "you need a surround sound system"...i just laugh.... Project gotham did it on the XB360 hardware, no excuses for the lazy people at polyphony digital, they just have dumb supporters who support their garbage and lies.

PGR4 is the shiznit. I still play it regularly. IT"S GOT BIKES TOO! Visuals, & weather in PGR4 are better than some current gen games.
Maybe they should premium all cars and get rid of the different versions of the same car

Funny how the Forza audio lead has since jumped ship to Gran Turismo.... Still, they have a lot of work to do to get all the cars sounding right for GT7.

I mean I Play Gran Turismo since I was a kid and for me they all sounded realistic, when I was older I heard the differences but I didn't cared either. Would have been great back then but right now I'm still glad they are how they are.

Considering the EX sound lead from turn 10 works at PD now as the Head audio engineer in charge of Car audio, GT7 is supposed to sound incredible, Evolution studios is also helping with the sound and so is some guys who worked with Rfactor and GTR. with that combination of talent... GT7 will probably be the best sounding car game on the planet.

mcs1981 :D I don't think GT Academy worth that much we would start discuss it. Best players of iR, rF, GTR or AC got no seat in real racecars ( some do, like Norbert Michelisz, but that's an other story) but those, who show off in a game, what you can easily play with a simple analog controller gives that much experience, you can qualify yourself to be a GT racecar pilot. Gran Turismo had it's time when it was on top of its game. Now, it's not and hasn't been for at least the last 5 years. Of course they're not going to update sounds and I hereby predict that GT7 will sound like crap too (and will include cars from GT5-6 and possibly GT3-4 because "1700 cars!!!"). I grew up with GT2 and 3 but I'm sick and tired of GT these days. Yamauchi is so far off. He's probably working on a Mars Exploration mission for GT7 now...
PD should scrap those standard cars and give us 500 full premium cars with realistic physics and sounds.
