Tip I learnt with matterport: Don't forget to trim (selected on the same menu as windows and mirrors) the externals prior to upload - it makes the doll house view look much better. Also adding mirrors during the scan helps to mitigate alignment issues.
Great video! Have you had a problem yet where the scan appears somewhere else than it's suppose to be? Happened to me recently scanning a property, and it had trouble finding it even moving the camera closer to the original scan. And since I used to use actual Matterport cameras, the quality does seem to take a bit of a hit using the IS360 1 RS, what are you thoughts? Are you offering it in your business?
I actually had that issue more than once, but it's an issue I have always had with the matterport software honestly. I found it has the issues most when moving through smaller doorways so I can do a shot basically right in the doorway and it seems to help with that problem in particular. I agree about the matterport camera itself taking a better image, but the time and money involved with that camera are it's biggest downfalls for me and I have not yet had an agent tell me this quality looks worse. It's funny how we notice these things instantly but agents never do 🤣

Hello. Thank you for your video. I am still in the learning phase. I was trying to add new scans to the existing space, is there such an option? Let's say in case the battery runs out and I haven't finished all the scans.
I am sure you can go back to re-edit a property once it's been done, but I honestly have never had to do so, so I'm not entirely sure how you would go about doing so

Thank you for your tutorial. I just got the one rs 1 inch and tried scanning on matterport. However I found a huge warp with stitching on both sides of the camera. Have you experienced any issues like that with your unit?
I personally have not, but then again Matterport is probably my least favorite 360 tour provider platform. If you want to send me some screenshots of your issue to my channels email ( contact4jd@yahoo.com ) I can try and help you figure out what's happening 😁

I did the matterport scan with the insta360 OneR and the quality and dynamic range was not that good.
Do you think the Insta360 One inch edition is much better?
How does it compare to the matterport Pro 2 camera?
Co.pared to the Matterport camera, none of these smaller devices will stand up when it comes to photos. That camera is 5x larger, takes 10x longer on site and is designed specifically for 3D house tours. This is a multi-tool that can provide all kinds of extra features like video, but if the quality of the image is your only concern and time on site + money is no issue, then the mayterport camera is the one for you
Ok and between the insta360 one R and the one R 1-inch, is there a big difference in quality in the final result of the model 3D tour? or is it practically similar? Thanks.
I ended up getting the richo theta Z1 for €650 on amazon second hand. Came like brand new.
Not a scratch on it. Then I couldn't believe that it takes the photos faster than the matterport camera and the quality is great. Not as good as matterport pro 2 camera but close.
Very happy with it. For real estate it's perfect.
I had the inst360 one R and the quality just wasn't good enough at all. And dynamic range was terrible when it was linked to matterport.

What accessories should I purchase right away to feel the whole pack complete? Which DaVinci Resolve should I purchase for starter? I'd use it for real estate virtual tours and drone-like videos.
Honestly I would start with the free version of Davinci Resolve. It has 90% of the program available in the free version and it gives you a great place to start off when editing. Other than that there is just the one time fee and you get lifetime updates. The versions change every few months so you never know what the official version is running on, but I love the program itself. As for the accessories for the camera, I have them all, but really only ever use the selfie stick with handle and the 3meter pole for fake drone shots.

I think its new, even the 114 cm invisible selfie stick's description says: For best stability, only extend the selfie stick to 2 sections (~70cm) with the ONE RS 1-Inch 360 Edition. When extending longer, please use discretion and assess the stability of the camera while shooting. Do not use long selfie sticks at high speeds or in action scenarios. Hmm, hmm. What should I do now? :'D
Thank you for all your videos. They inspired me to buy the 1" to shoot church, town halls and other locations with detailed "walls".
But I'm finding the camera to be complete garbage, especially the seam between the lens. Everything is blurred no matter how near or far the subject is away from the camera on the seam line.
I don't know if it's faulty or if that's how it's supposed to be.
How do you deal (no pun intended) with the issue or don't you have that problem? I know you're supposed to position the lens towards to main subject for best quality, but rooms have 360 degrees of detail to capture!

I have honestly never had the camera take a blurry image, and only once or twice have I really noticed the stitching line in rooms that had super bright and dark areas in the same composition. Are you trying to use the 9stop hdr bracket? With the fact you are having blurry images I would recommend reaching out to the company and sending over the images and issues you are having because it sounds like some sort of default
@@jeremydeihl Thank you for the help. Yes, I'm using the 9 stop HDR bracket. I may have worded my original post incorrectly. The blur is around the stitch line, not the entire image. I will contact Insta360 support and see what they say. Thanks again.
Like some others have said, I also see the indication on the Matterport site that this model camera is not compatible yet. I signed up for notification alerts when it is compatible, but I'll be trying this myself soon. My camera just came in yesterday. Maybe it works for some locations? I'm in the USA.
All I can say for sure is that when I got the camera and made this video it was compatible and both stated so on the website. I can still use my camera with Matterport(though I prefer KUULA and use that platform personally) and when you search online it still states "Compatible with OpenSpace, DroneDeploy, StructionSite, Cupix, Matterport."

I've been waiting for support for this insta360 model on Matterport....On my Matterport connection it comes up with unsupported device still....any thoughts?
Sorry you're having those problems, unfortunately, since I don't really know much about the back end and software of the camera, I can't do much to help there. I can give you a few tips that may help because they help me in the process. Make sure if you have a VPN on your phone or tablet you're trying to connect to. It is turned off, also make sure your Bluetooth and Wi-Fi are both enabled. Lastly, make sure you connect to the insta360 app before opening the Matterport app. From my experience, as long as you are connected to the camera through the insta 360 app, the matterport software will automatically recognize the camera, but you do have to select it from the camera options menu. I know this isn't a perfect answer, but I hope it helps
Can i take the photos in jpeg or do they need to be hdri photos?
You can take both kinds with the camera, but the HDRI images will look better if you're set up on a tripod
Matterport is good for a dollhouse, but the quality of the photo inside the tour in KUULA is an order of magnitude higher...
I agree totally, which is why I personally use KUULA for my company. I thought I would make the video because I got asked a bunch after making the KUULA one if it works with Matterport too
@@jeremydeihl Kuula is way better! Matteport does have Lidar and these fancier options like the dollhouse, but i'm very sure Insta360 isn't far behind by introducing their own dollhouse option. The dynamic range on this camera is by far the best i've seen in the industry, even compared to 360 cameras $5k and more.
Maybe the image quality on Kuula is better. But this is not a virtual tour but only a slideshow on 360 photos. Matterport is on another level when it comes to a really immersive walkthrough.
Hi sir, if i take a scan in a room which have less light using matterport what will be the result.
Honestly it just depends on how little light is involved in the room. The less light the more noise that will come through in the final image. I know that's not very helpful but so far I have had no issues
On the Matterport's website the Insta360 RS isn't listed as the compatible 360 cameras, is there any additional steps I need to do in order to use it with Matterport?
I have not personally had any issues, but if read down a little lower in the comments of this video, there was someone having issues using the IOS platform. I personally use Android and did not have any issues, but again Matterport is not my personal platform of choice so I only have a little bit of experience using the two together. Sorry I can't be of more help!

Have you ever had a real estate agent ask specifically for the Matterport Tour? or better yet, do they ever care enough what software you use? seems like the industry standard for Real Estate is matterport but looks to be more of a hassle than anything
I agree with you. I have had agents ask specifically for Matterport, but that's because the name "matterport tour" is synonymous with 360 tour in our parts. Usually when I send a KUULA tour they are surprised by how much better the images look

@@TRAN.B the biggest difference between Kuula and Matterrport is that Kuula lets you edit the images before you post them. Matterport is pretty much straight from the camera
Not sure about everyone else but Matterport simply will not work correctly for me with this camera. I’m using iOS devices the newest pro iPhone and have never gotten it to connect. It will connect with the iPads but extremely slow and buggy so much so I could even complete a small room scan. So I’ll be using the “other one” by default. It’d just be nice to have options 😂🤷♂️
I’m guessing the mobile data use must be huge whilst connecting to Matterport?
That would be a correct assumption haha 😁 it also tends to be a much larger drain on the battery of both my phone and the device when doing matterport tours compared to everything else it does.

I thought this Camera 1 inch edition in which I just purchased, was NOT compatible with the Matterport . please let me know because on the Matterport site they have a notification for this Cam becoming compatible , i sent this May 15 2023
Please keep in mind I do not work for Insta360, I am just someone who owns this camera and made a tutorial on how to use it. That being said I have had zero issues using this camera with Matterport personally but I can't speak to whatever is on either website. If you have questions about the camera and it's compatibility I would recommend reaching out to Insta360 or Matterport directly

It wouldn’t hurt to ask either way . Have you ever tried the reader for the X3 on the 1 inch ? , I saw someone do it on CZcams, that’s not supposed to work either lol

Matterport is based around a subscription model and you get a certain number of tours depending on your level. I believe the cheapest starting package is 5 tours for roughly $10 a month
Exterior you need to use 360 not the 3D scans. Then place it on the map when youre done

Hello, I am wondering if you have run into the issue where there is a error message that pops up stating that the SD card is Missing when there is one inserted into the camera? Also, have you ran into issues where the camera will not load your scans that you capture with the 1-inch? I am a new photographer that is trying to learn my way around this program for the first time.
I have noticed a few things over the ask few months of using this camera. Number one. I seem to have the issue with Windows specifically telling me the insta 360 branded SD card is faulty and needs to be repaired, every time I try and repair it, it does nothing, and gives me the same status the next time I plug it in. I've never had any issues getting things off of the card, but I do get that pop up quite regularly specifically when using that microSD. I have also noticed that when I play the camera into the computer and then turn it on it gives me a warning that the device has failed and then half a second later loads up the information. I have never had this problem when I turn the camera on first and then plug it into the computer, so it might just be some internal boot up things that happen in the camera. Again, I've never had the camera loose any images on me or malfunction in any way, just those few quirks. Hopefully that information is helpful and doesn't come across crazy because I'm using speech to text lol
@@jeremydeihl that is helpful information thank you! The error message that I am specifically talking about is when using the Matterport app it states that the SD card is missing from my camera. Super confused about this and is making not able to shoot any tours at all!
UPDATE: Just had a camera firmware update and fixed the issue!
