Even if the stats are "bad" a free ship is a free ship and if nothing else it's another one for the Admirality
And the past Summer event ships usually have turned out to be really good and interesting so far.
I dont mind "bad stats" Not every ship has to be the ultimate next meta breaker. If everything would be the same, it would be boring.

As someone who has the original Obelisk Carrier from back when you could get it from Sphere of Influence I'm quite looking forward to this one.
Hopefully they've changed the seating to be a bit more viable in the modern game!

I was very sceptical of the Cnidarian Defender. I laughed when I first saw it. However it turned out to be one of the most powerful free ships given away IMO and is great fun. Just launch its console and watch all the bad guys blow up. It's that simple. 😃 Maybe this carrier will be like the Jarok Alliance Carrier which was praised when it was released. Also a free ship. The previous Alliance ship, the Rex Pilot Escort is great fun as well. So lets see what we get I'm looking forward to it. Also it was broaght to my attention how the new summer event ship resembles the Normady from the Mass Effect franchise. A bigger brother perhaps 🙂
Yeah I saw that tko if you squeeze your eyes from above, the front section seem very similar to the SR2.
Console is called "Console Universal - Subspace Fracture Tunneling Field" it's part of the ancient obelisk technology set which is now a 4 piece set. 4 piece set is as follows.
Set 4:
Automated Interception Swarm
Obelisk Set Bonus
Creates a Obelisk Swarmer every 1 sec with up to 8 of them flight at the same time.
So that 20 fighters on field then
You can also use the hoverboards on your colony holding map, makes getting around to do the projects (mining, batteries etc) easier/faster to get to.

i relly hope that this carrier has a good pet bassed consials or sime kinde of onbord wep consial like a lance or something and im relly happy to finly see a t6 varrient of the ship
I'm disappointed the Andorian Kit Frame and the Elysian Set have disappeared from the Event Store but the new Kits/Frame look interesting. The new ship looks nice and it is a FREE T6 SHIP, any FTP players definitely should finish the event to get that. For those players who are wanting to skip out because they are not interested in the ship: remember what has happened with the ships the last few years.
Also, a Floater makes getting around on the island much easier. Get at least a basic one to make everything go faster even if you are not interested in the Floater specific events.

@@nwoizaakgoldmann4519 Last year was the Hysperian Battlecruiser, it is an excellent casual all-rounder and has a trait and console that are having an impact in the dps meta. The previous year was the Cnidarian Defender, the infamous "Jellyfish" with a powerful set of abilities. The previous year was the Risian Luxury Cruiser with interesting and powerful console and trait. This trend keeps going all the way back, 2019 had the Risian Corvette with its Soliton Wave Impeller for instance. The Summer ship is frequently quite capable overall and has some level of significant gameplay capability. Since the event takes only a few minutes each day to complete there is really no reason to skip doing at least the 20 days to get the ship but some of the players are put off by the odd theming and skip it anyway then end up paying through the nose when it impacts their play style.
Basically: if a ship or space equipment is on the line, don't skip doing at least the minimum to get it.

@@nwoizaakgoldmann4519some turned out pretty nifty and not bad especially for free and they now often turn up in the mudd Store for 150+ Zen which is absolutely overpriced for a not full Zen Store ship. Zen Store ships are always a nudge better than the event ships but the last event ships had really nice stuff last years and that for free (minus 20 event participants)
Disclaimer they are better with specialized seatings for your Bridge officers not in general over all
I'm still waiting for event to get a ship upgrade token so I finalize my Defiant Class USS Cobra
i usually don't end up getting credit for anything done at risa but i really want that ship
The dyson carrier was fun i hope this version is a improvement.
The Risian Kit ∞ frame, every summer event kit you use add 10% Ranged Weapon Damage on top of the 20%.
Vovin will probably a 3/3 but i hope it 4/2 with a decent Engineering console slots like the Lobi Advanced Obelisk Carrier has 5 Engineering console slots.
Well, the old Obelisk Swarmers packed quite a punch for regular content and advanced TFOs, so I kinda like this one coming out
Ship looks cool enough. I like this event cus it's bottom line quick and easy for a ship. Never do the rest it never interests me much. But in jetpack and out free ship is great. And I've never had a good carrier

I was on Risa yesterday (6/25/24) on console & the ship is already parked there... it's pretty big
That's the ship from last seasons Risa event, new ship reveal after patch.
Im doing the bare minimum in every event. Doesn't matter if i want to or not. Never ever had any regrets after wards. I mean in maximun it's 15 minutes a day. Mostly faster like red alert or summer/winter event. Rewards are just to good to skip events in my opinion.

nice - i have lots of favors saved up - the new kits sound cool. Thanks for keeping us up to date!! (if you have lots of alts - just run the daily on all of them once per day - takes about 30 minutes for about 8 toons - that's a quick 400 favors per day.)
Would be nice if it were a 5-5 layout on the vovin. When Risa needed the terraforming avatar the most it vanished to play baseball.
I love the summer events, never gets old. I wish it lasted longer. I think some events should be. Give you a break from the normal stuff. Could allow people to earn a few favors a day and catch up on all the stuff in the store.

started this game short while before the gamma recruit event so this will be my first summer event hope i like it as much as the winter event thought the event hoping comes soon is the temporal recruit event so i can make my last recruit character to get all the recruit unlocks

At least it is a good-looking ship. I have the original so will now have the new version. I kinda enjoyed the original myself. Hopefully, it will turn a bit better this time around.
This will be my first summer event since returning for the last winter one. If you can put together a video on the best events to play I would greatly appreciate it.
More specifically one for efficiency.
If you’re just looking to complete the daily and not farm Lohlunat favour, just do the daily flight mission from the lady on the dock. It takes like a minute, and even the “hardest” potential courses are super easy.
If you want to farm favour, I would recommend dance competition, Horga’hn hunt, and building sand castles at the very least because they’re not competitive(despite the dance competition’s name) and they’re super duper easy.
The races are a little harder, and their rewards are dependent on how you place, but once you have the racetracks down they’re not so bad.

What really gets me is that this thing looks too much like the Aspero for it to be an accident.
Yeah, there really isn't anything but cosmetics for the ships in the event store...unlike the winter one where it's pretty much a necessity for anyone who wants to play as Breen
Playing a carrier is not about how they blast away enemies it's about swarming the enemy with in trillion gob flies and their pointy needles of death.
To use a carrier effectively, you have to have the skills setup, the Doffs the right traits and the right pets and consoles. That's s lot of expensive ducks to get in a row. The big advantage they have (not big enough imo) is they can engage targets over 10km using pets, I'd like to increase the trait and module coverage (for pets) out to 15-20km or the entire map in order to give them a niche that quite frankly they should already have.
If I'm not mistaken, you can do any of the activities to get the daily done
That is correct, the Jetpack race. It’s just the fastest and most straightforward.

Cant you put a kit mod on each of your away team/Boff after upgrading them with a Boff train token, and in turn have each of them use a different element and then reap the rewards?

I believe you only need to have the tutorial completed so the full map is open to you.

The grind to get the currency is ridiculous, the winter one is worse cause of the multiple currencies (targ ear muffs are the bane of my existence)
its a matter of opinion that carriers are "not as good" what are you trying to do? min/maxing DPS is ridiculous in this game. Nobody cares if you can solo ICE in under a minute, and your ruining it for other people who actually want to play the TFO, get a life.
